The photos on the Hotels.com website do NOT accurately show what this place looks like now! A dude 3months ago said the lobby coffee machine was broken; it STILL is! The rooms haven't been maintained in years and were done poorly to begin with anyway. The wallpaper, that's already peeling has random pain marks all over like who ever was painting the rooms was trying out a brush. The first room I got had mildew ALL over the carpet. I alerted the woman at the front desk and they tried to say it was carpet shampoo. Yall, it was fuzzy. I'm from VA, and any southerner knows you're going to get mildew if your place isn't properly dehumidified in the summer. You could smell it. They moved me to a new room. It clearly wasn't cleaned after the last person left because there was hair all in the sink, bugs all on the bathroom floor (alive and dead). The used shampoo tubs were still on the toilet, someone left their shoes under the desk and the bed sheets had dirt in them. I noticed that the rooms had cups full of shampoo and soap bars which tells me that cleaning staff doesn't check the rooms after each guest. One of the outlets had caught on fire at some point, was never repaired and the smoke detector was pulled from the wall. And they had the audacity to ask multiple times for tips for the "cleaning staff". I probably cleaned that room better than it's seen in 30 years. I checked out early and just left the key in the room. I'm sure the place was cute in 1940, but not anymore.

Mrs Mae is very friendly and helpful. Checks on you to make sure everything is ok. I’d recommend it - stayed 3 weeks for work. Loved my little room!! Mrs Mae was a bonus!!
