Hotel Restaurant Dontenville

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Check in is at 4pm which would have been fine however the hotel is completely closed before 4pm so we were left waiting around the town for a long time before we could get in to leave our luggage. The town itself was also mostly closed so it was difficult to find somewhere to wait for the hours until 4pm came (we had an early 9am flight so we wasted most of the day waiting to leave luggage) The bus comes once an hour The travel from Selestat train station to the hotel is only 10 minutes by car however none of the taxis we called wanted to do the journey and the bus times to Chatenois is far and few between and last busses are very early

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. First time was a very simple room. This time, room no 32 on the top floor, under the roof beams was (more!) charming, with views to the mountains and wineyards. Good food, too!

This small hotel is in the middle of a very old town, an old building with beautiful features. It seems to be run by a very friendly and welcoming family who are keen to look after you extremely well. It has no 24/7 reception, so realise that you can not drop your bag off before 4pm, as the hotel is shut up before then (my bad). Quaint restaurant, with hearty, fresh food, great local wine and friendly service. Lovely dessert. Highly recommended.

Excellent place! Friendly staff and very good and authentic food. Perfect for doing «The Wine Route» in Alsace.
