Positive: Hotel had friendly staff and the rooms were spacious enough. Laundromat available and family mart within walking distance. Plenty of parking. Negative: Hotel seems dated and basic. Not really a problem but doesnt seem to match the price which seems on the high side for what you get (especially compared to other options nearby.) A/C didnt work at all (only blew warm air). We asked about it at reception but apperantly the rooms with working A/C were "sold out". Only option was to open the windows, however having the balcony doors open ment a lot of noise from the nearby road(s) and people.

I had a very pleasont stay at Regina. The room was very spacious, and the bed was very good. This was very nice, since I had previously been sleeping in a bad bed at another hotel. I also used the laundry machines. I did not use the onsen, since I have tattoos and understood that Because many japanese guests were visiting the hotel at the time, it was best i did not use the onsen. Though I would have liked to used the onsen, I do understand that there are some cultural history around this.
I had a very pleasont stay at Regina. The room was very spacious, and the bed was very good. This was very nice, since I had previously been sleeping in a bad bed at another hotel. Chose this hotel ostensibly for views of Mount Fuji and the onsen facilities. While Fuji was hiding behind clouds for two days (nothing anyone can do about the weather!) we were able to see the mountain on the morning we left. We had a room on the (Japanese) 3rd floor, but Fuji was still fully visible. The hotel made a lovely change from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and set in a quiet location. The room was spacious (twice, if not three times the size of the room we had in Asakusa in Tokyo!). The hotel is a little far from the train station to walk, but the hotel shuttle service helps get you to and from the station at specific times of the day. Pick not before 3pm. You can ask the tourist info office staff at the train station to call your hotel when you arrive. Info office open 9am to 5pm. The hotel is very much in the style of Japanese resort hotel, once you are there you can unwind and slow down with a nice onsen experience. The shop in the lobby sells lots of lovely omiyage/local products. Double rooms are on floors 2 to 5, floors 6 and above are for more than two people occupancy. The Japanese breakfast was excellent, as was the kaiseki dinner. Excellent value compared to what you would pay for the equivalent experience in the UK. The hotel staff were super helpful and polite, definitely model examples of Japanese customer service. They cater well for non-Japanese speakers, if you speak English or Mandarin Chinese, not sure about other languages.

Sehr freundliches Personal das immer hilfsbereit war . Shuttle Service zu den beiden Busstationen jederzeit nach Anmeldung möglich - super! Wir hatten ein Zimmer im 4/5 Stock gebucht erhielten ein Upgrade mit 2 Schlafzimmern im 8ten Stock mit toller Sicht auf Mount Fuji . Betten sehr gut - der Onsen ist übersichtlich war aber nie überfüllt und sehr sauber . Auch wenn die Anlage älteren Baujahr ist sie zu empfehlen - sie ist gut gepflegt . In der Umgebung finden sich mehrere Restaurants und eine Bäckerei die französische Backwaren zu vernünftigen Preisen anbietet. Abends waren wir in einem Running Sushi Restaurant - für so wenig Geld haben wir nie Sushi gegessen die sehr lecker waren .

Hotel was well kept, very spacious for a Japanese hotel, fantastic view of Mt Fuji, very good breakfast, free shuttle to train stations and very helpful/friendly/professional staff. Our only small negative comment is in regard to the older shuttle driver. He became known as “Grumpy-san” to our family. We are able to converse in basic Japanese, but he would only grunt at us and other riders even when greeting him. Also, he was not very shy about laying on the shuttle horn at tourist which was surprising. Overall Hotel Regina Kawaguchi was a great place to stay and is recommended.

The view of Mt. Fuji from the room’s balcony was beautiful. The location was good, not too far from train station. Shuttle from property to Kawaguchiko Station available [must schedule], size of room a plus than many other properties. The food was provided (‘half board’- ‘Kaiseki’ for dinner [no choice], unless not selecting ‘half-board. Breakfast buffet included with ‘half-board, better buffet offerings at other property stays. One other restaurant on property, or eat in Kawagichiko town. Also thought there would be an outdoor ‘onsen’, however only indoor. Staff was professional and personable.

We stayed in several hotels throughout our vacation in Japan and this was by far our favorite hotel. Our room appeared to be newly renovated and was huge! Very clean and so much space. Bed was large and comfortable. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Shuttles are available to bus station which makes getting to town quicker. You could walk, however it would take awhile and we opted not to do that since it was cold. We enjoyed the hot springs. The view of Mt Fuji was incredible from our balcony. Would stay here again if we are ever back in the Mt Fuji area.

富士山が部屋から見られると期待していたのですが、天気が良くなくて残念でしたが、景観はとても良く部屋は広くて掃除もゆきとどいていました。夕飯も一品一品丁寧に出されとても美味しかったです。朝食も気配りされた管理で清潔さを感じ快く頂けました。お陰様でとても良い旅行をする事ができありがとうございました。

Visitor from Vancouver, Canada. While the area is lovely and the hotel staff were kind and welcoming, our stay was unfortunately disappointing. We had to change rooms three times due to persistent smoke or other unpleasant odors, which significantly impacted our experience. Additionally, the rooms are extremely small—there wasn’t enough space to open a suitcase and comfortably move between the bed, desk, and bathroom. Although we initially booked for five nights, we decided to leave after just one. I would recommend considering alternative accommodations in the area.

窓からの景色(富士山!!)も良く、朝食も美味しかったです。お風呂も綺麗でベッドも寝やすかったです。 上の階がお子さん連れだったのか、音が気になる事は多少ありましたが、寝る頃には静かだったのと、宿泊施設の問題ではないので…。機会があればまた利用したいです。

The best thing about this hotel is that you can view mt fuji from the balcony. The hotel is quite old but everything is clean and in good shape. The staff is very helpful guiding me to take the right bus to yamanaka and gave the best assistance they could. Food is generally ok and I will say the price speaks everything and its definitely for good value. A lot of Japanese stayed in the hotel during our stay as well.

Not really a problem but doesnt seem to match the price which seems on the high side for what you get (especially compared to other options nearby.) A/C didnt work at all (only blew warm air). We asked about it at reception but apperantly the rooms with working A/C were "sold out". Only option was to open the windows, however having the balcony doors open ment a lot of noise from the nearby road(s) and people.

The onsen on the property was nice and hot staff were pretty friendly. Make sure to ask for a room on a higher floor or your view of Mt. Fuji will be particularly blocked by trees. My one bigger complaints was noise in the morning. It was not from guests, but both mornings I was woken up by announcements from outside (maybe not even on the property).

It is a nice but older facility. Everything was fine except the water pressure in our room was AWFUL. It was barely coming out of the shower head. I am not one to complain but this was horrid. It took forever to try to take a shower. I understand that there is an onsen and the water pressure there was fine but in our room on the 11th floor it was basically nom existent. For the price of our room, I expect water pressure. Staff were all wonderful. They were helpful with anything we needed.

Room was clean and spacious. AC temperature was controlled by the hotel. You are not able to change it in your room. Staff members who spoke English were not many. You need to call the hotel to get shuttle bus from Kawaguchiko station. So, you are better to have a cellphone with international plan or find payphone.

Big rooms, good view of mt fuji. Staff was the most unhelpful, no customer service at all.They have a shuttle but will only allow you to use it once a day.Most of the time you have to catch a taxi if you are going out multiple times a day. Its the most inconvenient location to stay. Not worth every penny of the price you are paying. Even the best view of Mt fuji in your room would not compensate for the hassle of bad customer service and inconvenient location.

The good: Hotel Regina was spotless. Our room was spacious with plenty of amenities. The bed was big and comfortable. And most importantly when the clouds cleared the view was breathtaking of Mt Fuji. This was the reason we choose this hotel. Most of the staff were also friendly. Good variety of food at breakfasts both western and Japanese. The bad: The hotel shuttle wasnt reliable, we waited at the station for 50mins. Couldnt call, so asked the tourist information twice to phone the hotel. We found the list of rules given to us over the top. (Picture attached) this included having to book a time slot for breakfast. Gave us fresh towels, but didnt make up the room. We had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant, and the waiter only spoke to talk to my partner, and at no point directed any information to me. I found this very rude. We also felt uncomfortable with the amount of staff watching us eat, waiting for us to finish eating. This made us feel rushed (the restaurant was particularly empty). The bed duvet was too thick, and the aircon blew out hot air. I wouldnt recommend staying here but my partner would.

The hotel staff who attended to us is kind and speaks good English, this is much appreciated as we encountered challenges when communicating with some locals. There's a mini store offering snacks and souvenirs at the lobby, which was convenient for us to buy something to eat at this quiet area. The room is very spacious with a side view of the Mount Fuji, breakfast is fine, checkout process was smooth. Overall it's a great hotel for staying in this area.

Hotel was well kept, very spacious for a Japanese hotel, fantastic view of Mt Fuji, very good breakfast, free shuttle to train stations and very helpful/friendly/professional staff. Our only small negative comment is in regard to the older shuttle driver. He became known as “Grumpy-san” to our family. We are able to converse in basic Japanese, but he would only grunt at us and other riders even when greeting him. Also, he was not very shy about laying on the shuttle horn at tourist which was surprising. Overall Hotel Regina Kawaguchi was a great place to stay and is recommended.

I booked a room that can sleep 2 people because it had two separate beds. When i got there they decided to charge me more because i had a guest with me. I have never had to pay extra money anywhere for having a guest with me. The only reason I stayed was because we were tired from traveling. I felt robbed. Checkout is at 11 am, after we checked out, they said they could not give us a ride to the train station because the last shuttle is at 11am, how is checkout at 11am and the last shuttle is also at 11am. Terrible, will never go back. No customer service. I had to pay out of pocket to book a taxi to the train station.

Hotel Regina offers a daily shuttle bus to and from Kawaguchiko station, which was an unexpected bonus. There are quite a few local restaurants in the area, all within walking distance. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, and this made our stay at Hotel Regina an absolute pleasure. The cherry on top was the best, and unobstructed, view of Mt Fuji from our room. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Chose this hotel ostensibly for views of Mount Fuji and the onsen facilities. While Fuji was hiding behind clouds for two days (nothing anyone can do about the weather!) we were able to see the mountain on the morning we left. We had a room on the (Japanese) 3rd floor, but Fuji was still fully visible. The hotel made a lovely change from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and set in a quiet location. The room was spacious (twice, if not three times the size of the room we had in Asakusa in Tokyo!). The hotel is a little far from the train station to walk, but the hotel shuttle service helps get you to and from the station at specific times of the day. Pick not before 3pm. You can ask the tourist info office staff at the train station to call your hotel when you arrive. Info office open 9am to 5pm. The hotel is very much in the style of Japanese resort hotel, once you are there you can unwind and slow down with a nice onsen experience. The shop in the lobby sells lots of lovely omiyage/local products. Double rooms are on floors 2 to 5, floors 6 and above are for more than two people occupancy. The Japanese breakfast was excellent, as was the kaiseki dinner. Excellent value compared to what you would pay for the equivalent experience in the UK. The hotel staff were super helpful and polite, definitely model examples of Japanese customer service. They cater well for non-Japanese speakers, if you speak English or Mandarin Chinese, not sure about other languages.

We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel fairly close to Kawaguchiko Station for a one-night stay. This place fit the bill. A shuttle bus is avaliable when prearranged, otherwise it's an inexpensive taxi ride. While the room was dated, it was clean. The shower and toilet rooms were modern. The breakfast was good. Best of all, the room had a balcony wth a great view of Mt. Fuji, our reason for visiting.

Sehr freundliches Personal das immer hilfsbereit war . Shuttle Service zu den beiden Busstationen jederzeit nach Anmeldung möglich - super! Wir hatten ein Zimmer im 4/5 Stock gebucht erhielten ein Upgrade mit 2 Schlafzimmern im 8ten Stock mit toller Sicht auf Mount Fuji . Betten sehr gut - der Onsen ist übersichtlich war aber nie überfüllt und sehr sauber . Auch wenn die Anlage älteren Baujahr ist sie zu empfehlen - sie ist gut gepflegt . In der Umgebung finden sich mehrere Restaurants und eine Bäckerei die französische Backwaren zu vernünftigen Preisen anbietet. Abends waren wir in einem Running Sushi Restaurant - für so wenig Geld haben wir nie Sushi gegessen die sehr lecker waren .

The hotel is great, we really enjoyed! 2 caveats, 1st It's NOT vegan friendly!, 2nd even though myself and my wife have never been associated with any criminal organization, and for sure not Yakuza, only because we have small tattoos on our skin like everyone, they didn't allowed us in the Olsen. We hired the hotel with the spectating for it.

Chose this hotel ostensibly for views of Mount Fuji and the onsen facilities. While Fuji was hiding behind clouds for two days (nothing anyone can do about the weather!) we were able to see the mountain on the morning we left. We had a room on the (Japanese) 3rd floor, but Fuji was still fully visible. The hotel made a lovely change from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and set in a quiet location. The room was spacious (twice, if not three times the size of the room we had in Asakusa in Tokyo!). The hotel is a little far from the train station to walk, but the hotel shuttle service helps get you to and from the station at specific times of the day. Pick not before 3pm. You can ask the tourist info office staff at the train station to call your hotel when you arrive. Info office open 9am to 5pm. The hotel is very much in the style of Japanese resort hotel, once you are there you can unwind and slow down with a nice onsen experience. The shop in the lobby sells lots of lovely omiyage/local products. Double rooms are on floors 2 to 5, floors 6 and above are for more than two people occupancy. The Japanese breakfast was excellent, as was the kaiseki dinner. Excellent value compared to what you would pay for the equivalent experience in the UK. The hotel staff were super helpful and polite, definitely model examples of Japanese customer service. They cater well for non-Japanese speakers, if you speak English or Mandarin Chinese, not sure about other languages.

Hotel was well kept, very spacious for a Japanese hotel, fantastic view of Mt Fuji, very good breakfast, free shuttle to train stations and very helpful/friendly/professional staff. Our only small negative comment is in regard to the older shuttle driver. He became known as “Grumpy-san” to our family. We are able to converse in basic Japanese, but he would only grunt at us and other riders even when greeting him. Also, he was not very shy about laying on the shuttle horn at tourist which was surprising. Overall Hotel Regina Kawaguchi was a great place to stay and is recommended.

The view of Mt. Fuji from the room’s balcony was beautiful. The location was good, not too far from train station. Shuttle from property to Kawaguchiko Station available [must schedule], size of room a plus than many other properties. The food was provided (‘half board’- ‘Kaiseki’ for dinner [no choice], unless not selecting ‘half-board. Breakfast buffet included with ‘half-board, better buffet offerings at other property stays. One other restaurant on property, or eat in Kawagichiko town. Also thought there would be an outdoor ‘onsen’, however only indoor. Staff was professional and personable.

The room was very nice! We had the best sleep here in 5 weeks of travel in Japan. Beds were very comfortable and the bathtub was welcome. Very nice place and would stay again!

Clean property and trims are huge with a view of Mount Fuji. Not very walkable to train, lake or other sites. Staff did not speak much English and the breakfast was very Japanese.
