The property is an old style looking building so it’s perfect if you are looking for the full Madrid ambience experience. The rooms are very small and rustic. But they are very clean and they make the best to make it as lovely as possible. I loved the balcony over looking the street. It was perfect for the experience. The breakfast is in a small building next door. I recommend going for breakfast between 7:30 and 8:30. It’s the only time when it’s peaceful. Otherwise you might have to wait in line outside. Overall I have no complains. The location is perfect, the service was great, the rooms were as described and everything worked without a problem. Reception is on the second floor. So don’t get scared when you get there and there is just a close door. Press the intercom and they will let you in.

Although rated 3 stars, this is closer to a 2.5 star hotel. However, it is convenient, clean, central and, while not luxurious, perfectly acceptable for a stay in Madrid. One thing to note: the elevator is subject to breakdowns. If you’re absolutely dependent on an elevator, take that into consideration.

This hotel was clean and the staff were helpful. It was more difficult to check in after hours, as the main entrance was in a dark alley. Also, there was no sign as to how to check in and when we pressed the first buzzer, no one answered. We tried another buzzer, and they did let us in, but it is not well labelled to know which button/buzzer you choose for the hostel. The breakfast had good choices and was a good value. It was centrally located and was a short walk to the main square. Other main attractions were within a 30 minute walk. The only negative was that the room was too warm and there was no way to adjust the room temperature. It does look like they had an air conditioner for the summertime, but it was not useable in the winter. It did have a patio but overlooked alley abs was too noisy to leave door open

Han sido particularmente amables al tramitarme los permisos para poder ingresar con el auto a las inmediaciones del hotel, evitando así muy posibles multas. Tal vez dejaría aclarado mejor cómo es el sistema para poder rentar aparcamiento con el hotel; creo que facilitaría mucho el proceso (hay que ir a la puerta del hotel, que es a partir del segundo piso de un edificio, y esperar que bajen para que te den lo necesario para reservarlo). La relación calidad/precio, excelente, como así también la ubicación una vez asentado uno allí.

Este hostal está muy bien ubicado en pleno centro. La atención de recepción muy agradable. El parking está un poco más abajo de la calle y tienes que pedir primero la llave en recepción, así que toca estacionar en carga y descarga para pedir la llave. Os recomiendo que bajéis alli la maleta en la puerta, porque en el parking hay escaleras y os va a tocar ir cargados. Y desde el Portal hasta el ascensor hay 6 escalones, yo que voy con silla de ruedas, me tocaba hacer un poco el circo teniendo que llegar de pie hasta allí. Y la recepción está en la segunda planta. A nosotras nos tocó en la quinta planta una habitación triple y estaba muy bien, amplia, las camas cómodas y sin apenas ruido. En general lo puntuo bastante bien, excepto el no estar adaptado para minusválidos.

Great location. Unfortunately the rooms were not uploaded with tea & coffee & sometimes the staff would just ignore fully preparing the room. Although, upon letting reception know of any shortfall, they did rectify the situations only that you had to repeatedly ask for in room coffee.

洗面所の扉の内側のトッテが壊れていて、開け閉めに困りました。 4泊して、毎日お掃除に入ってもらったのですが、ベットメイキングはしているけれど、シーツは変えていなくてびっくりしました。１日だけ、シーツを外して洗濯物のタオルと一緒に置いておくと、シーツは新しくなっていましたが、もう一つのベッドは使用したシーツのままでした。コップも変えてくれないので、２日目からはホテルのものは何も使えなくなりました。シャンプーリンスもなく、ボディソープで全身洗うようになってました。お国柄なんでしょうか？日本のホテルとの違いにかなり戸惑いました。

The hotel was extremely clean…someone was always washing or sweeping something…the rooms were very clean, fresh towels, comfortable beds. Good location to subway, city buses, and lots of restaurants, and activities. There is a wide range of choices of hotels in this area and glad we picked this one. Definitely would stay again.

Hostal Abadia is a nice place. It was pretty clean and tidy. The room was a bit small. The breakfast served at the site was awesome. The add-on for it via Expedia was really cheap and well worth it. The place can get pretty loud on Fridays and Saturdays since it's located off a narrow street! On the bright side, the shower pressure is amazing 👍👍! The room's got double-panes windows, a roll-down metal panel, and balcony windows, I wouldn't want to stay during the summer, of course the room has AC.

Overall, I do agree with the hotel rating of 3 stars. The location of the hotel was impeccable, it was nearby all of the attractions and subway stations. But, the walls were paper thin, you could hear people showering, flushing the toilet, and my boyfriend said he could even hear someone sneezing. Also, our AC was continuously on low and we would literally sweat through our sheets. When we asked staff to check, they seemed disinterested and said that there is nothing they can do and the AC is working and “it is just this way in the summer.” Breakfast was average, but come early so you even get anything decent.

I left some jewelry on the night stand and they refused to help. Told me I had to set up pickup and shipment and I have no idea how to. When I looked into I couldn’t figure it out!! Must be a great way for them to keep a lot of people’s belongings. For paying 500€ to stay here you’d think they’d be more helpful.

Some of my dissatisfaction was due to the room. It was right near the entrance door so there was slamming and loud conversation throughout the night. Water running through pipes could be heard. We had an especially loud girl in the room never to us on the first night. The staff ranged from very professional to less so in interactions.

Respecto al personal, la atención, la limpieza de las habitaciones, TODO PERFECTO. En verdad atienden de maravilla y las habitaciones están recién renovadas. El único detalle fue con los alrededores, a pesar de ser una zona céntrica, ya en la noche se siente inseguro. Fuera de eso el hostal estuvo muy bien.

Amazing hotel, very clean, great friendly staff. Breakfast was very tasty and had a good selection of fruit, cereal, breads/pastries and some wark items e.g.. ham, sausage and egg. We stayed in a quadruple room with 4 single beds which had plenty of space and was cleaned with fresh towels every day. Only 5 mins walk from Sol/Plaza Major on a quieter side street away from the noise and buzz, so ideal for getting a good nights sleep while being centrally located. Would happily recommend this hotel to anyone.
