The Palms Turks and Caicos

We booked fairly last minute but still got a great room with a lovely king bed and a surprisingly comfortable pullout sofa for our 16 year old son. The breakfast was included and great! Eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes or French toast and the coffee was really good! One of the five buildings was already closed (renovation starting) but pool and beach were never crowded. When we needed more towels, someone came quickly. Lovely turn down service each evening. Two servers at the swim up pool bar were amazing and made our trip - Sherrie and (our fave) Paula who knew our son’s favorite drink (chocolate shake) and kept ‘em coming! Only downside was lack of activities for a teen. It was definitely a couples resort but concierge helped to book a jet ski excursion that was a highlight for our son. Beautiful grounds, so quiet, safe/gated entry, shuttle to their other property (Sands) was close to main shopping area. We’ll be back!

From our experience, the best part was the staff. The staff at the Palms was super friendly and helpful! Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible, from the front desk to the dining. Even when our rental vehicle caught a flat, the front desk took care of everything. I didn't even have to lift a finger to call the rental car company. Room was clean. Property was immaculate. Complementary breakfast daily. And they had a couple of free water activities you could do. Overall for us it was an A

What a beautiful property! We enjoyed our stay here. There’s a reason it’s a 5-star resort! We were able to walk to the local fish fry but everywhere else was convenient with a quick taxi ride away. The hotel has taxi’s waiting in the parking lot so it’s easy to have a car waiting at any point. We enjoyed the swim up pool bar and grabbing a beach chair was so easy! Their attendants even cover your chairs with new towels and get you floats or whatever you need. They have kayaks, long boards, floats all for their guests as needed. We even received turn down service in the room! I’ve never stayed at a place that fluffs the pillows, removes the decorative ones, they put slippers by your bed for when you get up along with a chocolate and a bottle of water. They also make sure the lamps are on and all the curtains in the room are closed. After returning for dinner, this is so nice to have! Breakfast is also included in the stay and delicious! The staff is very friendly. The restaurant by the beach is also delicious. We had the tuna wontons, the grouper wrap and the Caesar wrap and all were delicious!! I also enjoyed the spa. Book with Maureen!!! You won’t regret it - Maureen gave the best massage I’ve ever had! She truly has a gift! Overall 10/10 stay and we will be back!

This is a beautiful hotel. Some of the pool bar staff could be a bit more attentive but it’s busy at the swim up bar. We got sailing lessons out off the beach on a Hobie cat and Duywan was super friendly and a patient and attentive teacher. The restaurants on property are delicious and you can walk to Mr Groupers which is a popular local restaurant. The concierge will help with excursions and whatever else you need!

The Palms in an exceptional experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Restaurants are very good. The location is probably the best sight on the Grace Bay beach. The grounds are very well maintained. The only possible way to improve this place would be a larger gym. However, it has everything you need, it’s just a bit small when several people are working out.

Hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. It was not over crowded and didn't have any issues with securing beach chairs and umbrellas or a spot at the pool. The grounds were well manicured and once you walked into the resort it was very peaceful and quiet. Beach is gorgeous!

We found this to be an excellent resort. The beach was beautiful and so was the pool. There were a couple of restaurants plus breakfast was included every day. They also provided a shuttle to two sister resorts that had additional restaurants.

Super clean, all employees were very nice and friendly. Included breakfast was excellent. Pool chairs were hard to come by after 7:30am. We chose to taxi if we wanted dinner off the resort ($25-30/night).

Overall, a mixed experience. The room was overall clean with two incidents- there was a splotch of blood on the headboard that wasn’t cleaned even when I asked specifically and there was a bikini sanitary liner left on the floor from a prior guest. I cleaned it myself. Yuck in both counts. The pool is spectacular as is the beach. Service is wonderful, with very friendly and happy staff. The breakfast was awful and food and drinks overall very overpriced.

This should not be considered a 5 star hotel. Our experience here was absolutely not worth the money we spent. The service was not 5 star service! I've received better service from a holiday inn. Our room was very nice and clean. The beach access was great. The pool is okay. There was pee all over the pool bathroom floor, which unfortunately ended up on my clothes so I was soiled in someone else's urine. They did not comp my dry cleaning. The fire alarm went off and I had to evacuate my room. No one was in a rush to fix it or apologize for the inconvenience. I stood outside for over 20 minutes with other guests, while I needed to be inside getting ready for a wedding. I asked for an early check in, they wouldn't accommodate. Even after I had someone else's pee on my clothes. They sent up a fruit plate but it wasn't enough. No one was happy to greet or take care of us. I ordered a frozen drink by the pool and they just let it sit there and handed it to me melted... I tried to order room service at 10:30, they closed at 11pm and told me the Chef had already left. There are no other food options near by. Nothing is walkable. We will not be going back. We had some bad luck, I'm sure it wasn't terrible for everyone but overall it was a bad experience. They had plenty of opportunity to make it better but fell short each time.

Located on beautiful Grace Bay Beach, which is a big plus and the property does have a nice pool and beach. The biggest issue for us was the overall rudeness of the staff and condition of our room. our first night there we had brown water flowing out of the pipes and no hot water. It was resolved rather swiftly, but it did happen to get a couple times on the trip. And speaking to other guests in the hotel, they experienced similar situations. Our room smelled like mold, and you could see mold, growing throughout the bathroom. My allergies flared up within the first hour of being there.

Beautiful property with an awesome pool and beach. The women staff at breakfast and around the pool/bar area were so friendly and amazing. The men that worked the beach hut were the complete opposite - miserable and very unfriendly. A lot of mosquitos in the rooms, would constantly hear buzzing in my ear when sleeping and wake up with tons of bug bites. Definitely the same tier as the ritz, seven stars or grace bay club.

Great location. Beautiful amenities. Room was pristine and the cleaning staff never stopped working. Service was excellent. Can’t wait to go again. My one complaint was there there was some kind of generator next to the tennis court that was loud. It made playing tennis a little difficult.

The cons: horrible internet connection — seriously don’t expect to be able to browse much; breakfast only until 10.30 (and after 10am food stops being replaced). Although we loved the beach, rooms and pool, everything seems a bit overrated and overpriced.

A big disappointment. We expected luxury and the Palms fell far short of expectations. Rooms are dated and in need of updating. Service was consistently poor. Staff seemed uninterested in helping you and most lacked basic information about the resort. Breakfast was sparse and not enjoyable. Restaurants were ok but overpriced. Best meal we had was off resort. Would not return. Much better options along Grace Bay,

The room was comfortable

The pro is that the room is very nice and so spacious and clean; there’s great attention to detail too. The grounds are very pretty, but the property is just so blasé. The pool is clean but boring, the hot tub is like warm, and the ocean view room is a joke. You can barely see tiny glimpses of the ocean through palm branches. The worst though is the attitude of the check in staff. We were at the Ritz Carlton for 5 night and chose to move hotel for our last night. Maybe it’s unfair to compare the Palms to the Ritz, but truly, they’d benefit from training in treating guests better. Honestly, for the price that the Palms is, I would chose the Ritz without question over the palms. We checked in at 9;30 AM. We were told that the room was not occupied and just needed to be cleaned. We kept checking back, and we were told it would be ready no later than 1 and hopefully before. At 12:45, when I checked at the front to see if after nearly 4 hours they had cleaned the room, I was told that they were in the process and was told in a sassy way that checkin is at 3. I responded calmly by saying, “ yes I understand that, but when you tell me that our room will be ready no later than 1, it reset our expectations. She seemed annoyed. We didn’t get into our room until after 2. Again, perhaps it’s not fair to compare the palms to the ritz, but for essentially the same price, the staff is so far superior and the quad experience is too!

The grounds are nicely kept, very beautiful landscaping in the old plantation style. The rooms/ furnishings need to be touched up a bit, the bathroom was lovely and housekeeping kept everything clean and well stocked. The service was hot and cold… The front desk staff was great, the breakfast area manager was also very friendly and helpful. The pool/beach/bar staff were not just unfriendly but couldn’t be bothered to do their jobs. When asked about pool noodles/ snorkel equipment (which is advertised as available) I got a downright snarky sarcastic response from the beach attendant. By the second day it was obvious we were expected to be self sufficient and I went out of my way to never ask for anything unless I absolutely had to! PS- if the hotel doesn’t offer snorkels or pool noodles, it shouldn’t be advertised on their website. I specifically didn’t bring my own because I thought it would be provided! Also, the pool/ beach staff need to be taught that they work in the service industry and are supposed to be helpful (with a smile) and not just for tips ( nobody carries cash to the pool or beach).

We booked for our anniversary. It was great for beach time and rest. The staff were attentive, and the grounds were lovely. The rooms could use some updating, particularly the bathroom.

We stayed at the Palms prior and was pretty disappointed with the room furniture condition and also the level of service from some employees of the hotel. There were only a few employees that went above and beyond with delivering excellent service and made our 7 days stay worth it. My husband and I would like to thank Philemon, Judelka, Paula Graham, Jane and Judy for making our stay memorable. These employees are always delivering great service and with a smile on their face every time we see them.

The front staff (reception and main restaurant staff) were professional, courteous and efficient. The staff at breakfast were also lovely. The staff at the beach restaurants were utterly incompetent and the two male managers were rude and aggressive to both patrons and wait staff - really unpleasant. All the beach lounge chairs were lined up like sardines and there were an impossible number of screaming, ill-behaved, unsupervised children. Awful experience. And beach attendants and restaurant servers were constantly (and obviously) looking for tips - which just communicates that the resort is not adequately compensating staff. We couldn’t wait to leave.

Warm, attentive and cheery!

The Palms Resort and Spa was WONDERFUL!!! From the time we got there until the time we left, we were treated exceptionally well by everyone we met. The front desk team were very professional, polite and courteous! The bell captain team was very attentive, not just making sure that our baggage was placed safely in our rooms but also taking care, to make sure we secured transportation when needed. The service and food at each of the restaurants was superb, including the pool side. Complimentary breakfast was fantastic and the team serving, outstanding. (special shout out goes to Reasa Louis and Jane Sweeting for being so very attentive, ensuring that are needs and wants were met. We will definitely return to the island and specifically The Palms Resort and Spa!

Every single employee was friendly. I’ve never been to a place where the entire staff smiled throughout our stay. It is an incredibly well managed property. Everything is always in its place and all day-to-day activities are well coordinated. The resort restaurants were outstanding. The daily breakfast was outstanding (e.g., fresh squeezed OJ, omelette station). The beach is everything you dream about in the Caribbean. The pool area was inviting and calm. Off-site activities were well managed. Very upscale experience delivered in a low-key and friendly style.

Beach service was not good

Wish I could give 5/5 stars but I can due to some customer service issues. Sabine was terribly rude and should not be in customer service. Literally rolled her eyes in my face, I will be emailing the property separately. Whitney wasn’t as bad but she also really needs some customer service training. Besides that and the room issue with a broken fridge, non working lamps, and non working lock everything was great. The manager Arianna was great and upgraded us rooms after the room dilemma. EVERYONE besides the two mentioned were fantastic. So kind, upbeat, always smiling, and sooo good with my baby. Shout out to Roxy (Roxanne), Jane (red hair), Tyrese (beach attendant) and everyone else was fantastic.

The property is a 10 out of 10. The staff/service can be excellent or terrible. The morning pool towel staff is awful - it was like we were bothering him to get some towels. The beach staff was excellent. Many of the wait staff were excellent but some were unfriendly and inattentive and acted like they were doing you a favor. The great wait staff were over the top excellent. Also the cleaning staff and facility staff were outstanding.

The property is beautiful. From the lobby to the well kept grounds, the pool etc. The rooms could stand some new furniture but that is nitpicking for sure. The rooms are beautifully decorated, have upscale bath toiletries, robes, slippers etc along with turndown service. The beach area is perfect with attendants there to provide umbrellas, food, drinks etc. The housekeeping staff keeps the property very clean. Finally, I can't say enough about the staff. Everyone is so friendly and professional. Management should be applauded for staffing and training the right people. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is laid out nicely and it’s very easy to get around. In regards to location, you can’t get any more central to all - stores, restaurants, and snorkelling. They are updating their pool/bar area which is slotted for September - Dec ‘24 which should help keep it in line with the newer resorts.

Luxurious feeling throughout the property and beachfront. The outside area outside the property is residential and not too appealing to walk around.

Totally amazing on all levels including but not limited to the ambiance, service and staff. The food way exceeded my expectations at every restaurant on property. It was all a delight.

The overall property was very nice. Limited restaurant options on site. There was very little to no entertainment or night time events. Pool Bar staff was very aloof. Most times, they were more interested in talking to each other than filling drink orders. Drinks were way over priced as was the food, but that was expected. Breakfast was nice and Jane was one of the few that went out of here way to be hospitable.

Very good hotel but not 5-star yet. Beach is magnificent. Swimming pool looked nice. It is hard to find towels or beach chairs. This is unacceptable for a 5-star hotel that you pay $1,500-2,000/day Rooms are spacious and clean. The whole property is well-kept and clean. Room service is nice and discrete There are 2 restaurants, parallel23 is top-notch! Breakfast is good but without variety. Not a breakfast of a 5-star hotel... The staff at the breakfast area/restaurants are not as welcoming as you would expect. Overall, a positive experience but very pricey for the provided services! To management: Please fix a few things and we will happily return!
