This colonial-style hotel not only is an important part of Cambodia’s history, it is a most lovely and relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh. The room we were in was exceptionally comfortable and elegant. The pool is an extraordinary refuge from the heat. And the staff makes every effort — and then some — to spoil the guests.

This has been one of the very best hotel experiences of my life. The hotel is beautiful and filled with so much history that I felt transported to a different time. The staff is absolutely exceptional. And I loved Elephant Bar. There is not a single thing I can think of to improve.

Beautiful hotel. 95 year old well maintained property. Good location. Doormen wear traditional Cambodian costumes - very charming. Fresh roses and sweets awaiting us in room. Great service and good food. Only drawback is the bathroom products. They are in ceramic bottles. The shower gel got knocked off shelf and shattered all over shower floor. Products need to be in plastic containers.

The hotel is lovely and clean, pretty and comfortable. My issue is with the service / training. Within the main restaurant in this apparent 5 star hotel I was very clear about being vegetarian and not eating meat or fish. Firstly I was delivered a dish with beef in that was not ordered, then after explaining again and being apologised to I was given a dish with fish sauce. All fairly unacceptable, especially with the prices being so much more expensive than they should be here, I had better service / understanding at the local street food vendors! During my stay I had booked a car to take me back to the airport, this was confirmed with a lovely handwritten note with my key. Upon checkout they seem to have misplaced my booking so had no transportation and was told to book my own. When my car arrived to the hotel I was told by the concierge that the car I had booked with the hotel was waiting for me.. a rather confusing and exhausting experience which just put a dampener on the day. The elephant bar is a lovely place to relax - sometimes, on other nights it appears to be a rowdy, loud unpleasant place to be with shouting guests / a heard of screaming children running around.

Vi havde 3 fantastiske dage på Raffels - lækkert værelse med terrasse ud til pool område. Skønne senge med dejligt stort badeværelse. Pool området var skønt og lækkert hvor der hele dagen igennem blev serveret og var gratis vand. Morgenmaden er en magisk og lækker oplevelse. Hotellet ligger centralt og vi havde den allerbedste oplevelse.

We stayed here at the end of our tour of Cambodia. We stayed at five star properties the whole trip and were frankly underwhelmed by Raffles in comparison. Essentially, it was the low season and they were short staffed. Concierge was often unattended, not enough staff around the pool that was often occupied with max guests. For the price we paid (for a shockingly small room that they advertised as a suite) we felt that the attentiveness to us as guest staying for four nights was lacking. In a more positive note, staying at Raffles is like stepping back in time and the actual building and the grounds and decor is lovely to spend time around. It’s just a bit soulless when it comes to the service.

Wow! We hebben tijdens onze reis al behoorlijk wat vijf sterren hotels mogen mee maken, maar het Raffles staat met stip bovenaan! Fantastische aankomst, strakke en persoonlijke service en in het kader van onze honeymoon is de kamer prachtig versierd: een bos rozen, een persoonlijke ingelijste kaart, taart en wijn. Werkelijk waar grandioos! Kamers zijn niet super ruim, maar wel voorzien van alles. Separaat bad en douche. Ontbijt is fantastisch. Klein buffet, maar ruime keuze uit a la carte: eggs Benedict tot wafel. Last but not least: echte champagne en vers geperste jus! Laat je in de watten leggen! Tip! Sla zeker de Elephant Bar niet over voor een heerlijke cocktail.

It was a wonderful stay. Service was perfect. I was a bit upset because I confirmed with the manager several days before my trip that they would have the Superbowl available to watch on the TV. Not only did they not have it but they didn’t have any idea what the Super Bowl even was. I had to scramble last minute to buy a subscription to watch it
