Sehr gute Lage, freundlicher Empfang, alles super. Wir haben immer problemlos Parkplätze in der Nähe gefunden. Nur die Situation mit dem Frühstück ist unglücklich gelöst. Man darf sich nicht selbst am Buffet bedienen, man muss warten, bis man an die Reihe kommt und dann den Damen sagen, was man möchte. Wenn man nur ein Päckchen Zucker oder Butter zusätzlich holen möchten oder noch eine Tasse - man muss sich immer anstellen und warten - dadurch entstehen lange Wartezeiten. Sonst hat uns alles gefallen

La piscina es un poco pequeña y casi no hay tumbonas para todos los que se alojan, pero esta muy bien el trato recibido, la comodidad de la cama y el desayuno, pero nuestra habitación era la única que no tenia sillas para descansar fuera de la habitación

Très bon séjour, le personnel était très agréable, le petit-déjeuner est très copieux mais peut-être faudrait-il le diversifier un peu plus. Le seul bémol serait dû à certains clients très bruyants, empêchant les autres de dormir. Mais cela est indépendant de l'hôtel. Le plus gros soucis est vraiment le manque de place pour se garer nous obligeant à parfois faire un kilomètre à pieds pour rentrer. Toutefois nous reviendrions avec grand plaisir.

The villa is well located and the owner and all of his staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping does excellent job. The parking was easy. Unfortunately, there is no heating in the rooms (which is a bit unpleasant during the colder nights) and the room we got was humid (the owner kindly provided us with the electric dehumidifier, but it would be worth it to have it turned in the corner rooms at all times). The pool was slightly heated (but the maximum water temperature at this time reached 22 degrees).

Schon bei der Ankunft guter Eindruck von außen. Ein netter zuvorkommender Empfang. Zimmer wie gebucht mit Meerblick. Sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Frühstücksbüffet mit allem was das Herz begehrt. Der Patron des Hauses hatte jederzeit ein offenes Ohr. Half bei allen Fragen und war jederzeit erreichbar . Très bon séjour à l'hôtel Lusitania. Propre, petit déj sucrés salés complets, personnel agréable, calme, superbe vue sur la mer. Et un gros plus le responsable parle français, parfait pour les bons plans restos et randos.

The property is fine and the owner/staff very nice but the room we had was very very basic, not so clean, very basic bathroom/shower and mosquitoes all over. The room felt like a 1 to 2 star small hotel and the property was more like a 3 star.

The rooms downstairs are small lack everything’, no air conditioning at a place very hot and humid, a room for 4 people with 2 chairs inside and no coach to eat inside,a lot of bugs and flies .terrible rooms if they are on the lower floors We arrived early and pedro the manager forgot to send the cleaners to clean the room for us although he saw us waiting to apologize later saying they were distracted with lunch and cleaning other rooms.then they had a construction worker hammering non stop on the wall right next to hour room removing paint and peeling it when we were trying to sleep a little in a hot humid room we received late. But pedro is a nice apologetic likable and helpful person, But the rooms are terrible for the prive

Came a bit early but could check in early. Room was perfect , and had a sea view.. Breakfast was very good.. Evenings after 22.00 were quiet although dogs nearby started their 'orchestra' every evening around 17.00. Staff were excellent and extremely helpful especially the receptionists. They even arranged a lovely lunch packet as we had a very early flight back. This was a cozy down to earth hotel.

The hotel was incredibly good value. We loved our stay and no ask was too much of the extremely friendly staff, we were provided with packed breakfasts when out early for trips and helped us to get car hire easily too. The only thing which could improve would be the breakfast service. Food was good for the price but the way in which you have to queue up and point to what you would like is strange and seems unnecessary and can be difficult if there are language barriers. Otherwise we loved it and with that improvement it would be amazing!

I absolutely loved this hotel ,was convenient to all amenities though you do need to be able to walk uphill ,the staff were friendly and i had an amazing view ,i wouldnt hesitate to recommend and i shall come back .

Spent 5 days at this lovely hotel - nice view, good size rooms and incredible service (front desk very responsive and helped with trop recommendations!). Only downside is that it is a little far from Funchal - 35 min by foot or roughly 25 mins by bus.

Très bon séjour à l'hôtel Lusitania. Propre, petit déj sucrés salés complets, personnel agréable, calme, superbe vue sur la mer. Et un gros plus le responsable parle français, parfait pour les bons plans restos et randos.

We booked this for a birthday trip and they arranged suprise decoration in room - making it extra special. Hotel is well located if you have a car and room is comfortable. Thank you. We highly recommend.

The hotel was incredibly good value. We loved our stay and no ask was too much of the extremely friendly staff, we were provided with packed breakfasts when out early for trips and helped us to get car hire easily too. The only thing which could improve would be the breakfast service. Food was good for the price but the way in which you have to queue up and point to what you would like is strange and seems unnecessary and can be difficult if there are language barriers. Otherwise we loved it and with that improvement it would be amazing!

Sehr gute Lage, freundlicher Empfang, alles super. Wir haben immer problemlos Parkplätze in der Nähe gefunden. Nur die Situation mit dem Frühstück ist unglücklich gelöst. Man darf sich nicht selbst am Buffet bedienen, man muss warten, bis man an die Reihe kommt und dann den Damen sagen, was man möchte. Wenn man nur ein Päckchen Zucker oder Butter zusätzlich holen möchten oder noch eine Tasse - man muss sich immer anstellen und warten - dadurch entstehen lange Wartezeiten. Sonst hat uns alles gefallen

Came a bit early but could check in early. Room was perfect , and had a sea view.. Breakfast was very good.. Evenings after 22.00 were quiet although dogs nearby started their 'orchestra' every evening around 17.00. Staff were excellent and extremely helpful especially the receptionists. They even arranged a lovely lunch packet as we had a very early flight back. This was a cozy down to earth hotel.

Wir waren mit unserem Zimmer sehr zufrieden. Es war sauber, das Frühstück war gut und das Personal war super freundlich. Parkplätze sind nicht vorhanden aber wir haben immer ein Parkplatz in der Nähe gefunden.

La piscina es un poco pequeña y casi no hay tumbonas para todos los que se alojan, pero esta muy bien el trato recibido, la comodidad de la cama y el desayuno, pero nuestra habitación era la única que no tenia sillas para descansar fuera de la habitación

Très bon séjour, le personnel était très agréable, le petit-déjeuner est très copieux mais peut-être faudrait-il le diversifier un peu plus. Le seul bémol serait dû à certains clients très bruyants, empêchant les autres de dormir. Mais cela est indépendant de l'hôtel. Le plus gros soucis est vraiment le manque de place pour se garer nous obligeant à parfois faire un kilomètre à pieds pour rentrer. Toutefois nous reviendrions avec grand plaisir.

Such a great location, super friendly staff! Love the views from the balcony and breakfast was yummy. The rooms are very basic and a little outdated but for the price, really great value. Would recommend!

Unfortunately I was not able to sleep while at the property because they were redoing all of the outdoor flooring (which they did not warn about beforehand).

though I was only there for a night, Pedro was an absolute doll, was very attentive when I had arrived past the check-in time and super helpful and recommending a restaurant that was more local and extremely friendly. The location is perfect for the area where restaurants are right down the road and you are walkable to the promenade. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
