First time I ever stayed at a motel that literally had no smell. Not a bit smoky, or perfumey. I am sensitive to smells so this was a huge relief for me. Bed and pillows were very comfy. Excellent value for the money. I would stay again.

The room was ok. It was old but clean. When we had the sign turned to “please make up room”. Nothing was done except the bed was made, garbage emptied and child sized towels replaced. No cleaning at all was done. We asked for 2 extra pillows that reeked of strong spices. We had to stuff them into drawers. Again room was decent and clean enough but other issues were off putting.

I know this isn't a five star property, but the office staff could make some effort. I am tired of staff who treat guests like they're an inconvenience. This could explain why the parking lot was half empty during my week's stay. On the other hand, the housekeeping staff were delightful and very engaging. They made me feel welcome and valued. Also, this may be the first motel in a resort town that didn't have an ice machine. On the positive side, the motel is located on the north end of the main drag making it easy to get to where you want to go. I'm not sure I would choose this property if I ever return to Port Elgin. I saw many other options that I could consider.
