Hotel Montestella

I would definitely stay at Hotel Montestella again. It is centrally located in Salerno in that if you walk in one direction, you reach the "Old town" with the restaurants and shops, Cathedral and beach part in 10-15 minutes and if you walk in the other direction, you reach the train station in 8 minutes. If you go "down" you reach the "strip walkway" in 2 minutes. The staff were helpful and allowed us to check in early at 1230 and let us check out late at 1130. There is also a nice lobby with couches that we hung out at because our train didn\'t leave till 1600 and the staff told us it was no problem to hang out as long as we needed to. The breakfast was really good--coffee machines made cappuchinos and lattes, and there were scrambled eggs, sausages, an assortment of pastries, bread, fruit, and cereal. I also appreciated that the yogurt was refridgerated--we stayed at several hotels in Europe and yogurt was sometimes left out at room temperatures. The only thing to note about this hotel and it\'s not their fault--there is construction on the road in front of it. The earliest we heard anything was 0830 and the latest was 1730, so it did not bother us at all, but thought I would mention in case people are sensitive to noise during those times. I would definitely stay here again and recommend Hotel Montestella to anyone staying in Salerno.

Great hotel. Staff is super friendly and its close to the train station. There is construction outside the hotel however, you cannot hear it (dont let this deter you) breakfast was good. The only off thing I can mention is that the toliet was very oddly high off the ground..

Wir haben vorher angerufen! Weil wir unser komplettes Gepäck für eine Nacht nicht ausladen wollten, ob es eine Garage am oder im Hotel gibt. ANTWORT: Garage NEIN, keine Information ob Parkmöglichkeiten in der Nähe sind, nichts…. Wir sollen das Ganze Gepäck mit ins Hotel bringen. Tag der Anreise Samstag komplett Sperrung vor dem Hôtel große Baustelle. KEINE INFORMATION VOM HOTEL. DAS FANDEN WIR UNMÖGLICH. WIR SCHLEPPTEN DAS GANZE GEPÄCK DURCH DIE INNENSTADT. sehr peinlich sehr schlecht Zimmer für sehr viel Geld Aussicht 0 HINTERHOF POSITIV ES WAR SEHR RUHIG Frühstück nebenan im externen Kaffee genommen, eine Frechheit Auswahl und Ambiente wie AUTOBAHNRASTSTÄTTE.

The street was going thru construction and therefore, we had to walk to bring our suitcases to the front of the hotel. We called them the day before to confirm the rooms and they never told us that. We realized it when we got there and it is on a busy street!

Es un hotel ubicado en la peatonal cercano a la estación de trenes . Lleno de restaurantes y tiendas. Se puede llegar caminando a la estación de trenes, y al puerto. Nos salvaron que pudimos quedarnos un dia mas por la huelga de trenes. Nuestra habitación tenia una terraza. Ojala hubiera hecho un poco menos de calor para poder aprovecharla

Bem localizado,perto da estação de trem e 3 quadras da Plaza de La Concordia, de onde saem os passeios de barco para a costa Amalfi.Pessoas gentis, café da manhã correto,boa cama e banho. No site de vcs, aparece na descrição das comodidades do quarto, que tem cofre,mas isso não ocorreu. O quarto que fiquei 309 tinha um barulho incômodo qdo ligava o ar condicionado e isso me incomodou e não foi resolvido.

Points négatifs : La salle de bain : seulement deux petits flacons de 10 ml deux petits savons, deux bonnets de douche. Pas de boîte de mouchoirs, pas d’après-shampoing, pas de kit coton/coton-tige. Pas d’armoire, juste une penderie avec 4 cintres pour deux personnes. Le petit-déjeuner est très décevant : très peu de choix, œufs en poudre, très peu de charcuterie et de fromage. En viennoiserie seulement croissants et mini pains au chocolat, le reste ce sont des tranches de pain à griller. Pas de chocolat chaud. Plusieurs sortes de café, mais le cappuccino est uniquement très mousseux. Dans la chambre : un simple rideau non occultant, la lumière passe à travers et l’isolation phonique est inexistante. Plateau de courtoisie très limité : seulement 2 thés et 2 capsules de café, rien de plus. Pas de bouteille d’eau offerte. Certaines chaînes de télévision ne fonctionnent pas, et le Wi-Fi marche très mal. Points positifs : L’emplacement est parfait : à proximité de tout, dans une rue commerçante, proche du port et de la gare. Le personnel est vraiment charmant, que ce soit à la réception, les femmes de ménage ou en salle de petit-déjeuner.Très gentils, souriants et à l’écoute : on se sent bien accueilli. Le lit était confortable,la chambre très propre, ménage fait tous les jours. J’y ai passé une semaine ma chambre sentait bon tous les jours Les serviettes changées tous les

Hotel Montestella is a solid choice for anyone visiting Salerno. It made getting around super convenient. The hotel itself is clean and modern, with comfortable rooms. Everything was well-kept and functional. While the room wasn't overly luxurious, it had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The staff was polite and professional, and check-in was smooth. They were available to help when needed, although we didn’t have much interaction beyond that. Overall, a good stay — not overly fancy, but comfortable and well-located. It was okay for an overnight stop. The front deak staff was incredibly kind and lovely. The rooms were bare and clean. The shower is tiny and was not very clean.

Nice clean place, decent. Tooth brush holder in washroom had a strand of hair. Area around is nice. Staff was nice. Views not that great. Nice breakfast buffet.

This is an excellent location near the train station and ferry station. It is close to shopping on a street just for pedestrians and easy walk to restaurants in the old town area. The rooms are updated and clean with updated amenities and air-conditioning that really works well. Also close to a beach you can swim on.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Montestella. The hotel room was well renovated and modern and the beds were quite comfortable. The staff was also very courteous, and we enjoyed the included breakfast. The area was unfortunately under construction, which made it harder to explore the surroundings by foot. There was also an unpleasant smell in the bathroom from the toilet. Those were only minor issues however, and I would still fully recommend Hotel Montestella.

O hotel e bem localizado proximo ao porto e estação de trem. Fica numa rua que não passa carro o que ja é muito bom. O quarto é excelente. O unico problema é que o ar condicionado não funcionava a noite, fiz varias reclamações e não conseguiram resolver o problema. Na última noite colocaram um ventilador no quarto o que não ajudou muito.

Overall, the hotel is in a great location by the beach, shopping and train station. Knocked off a star because the TV WIFI for Netflix, Prime etc was not functioning and the staff had no ETA when it would be functioning again. Was relying on this service for the kids on downtime during the day.

This property was good except for the shower. It was 2 feet by 3 feet, very uncomfortable shower. They did not have a better room for us. Ruined the comfort of our stay.

The hotel was a great location. The service was great. The bed was not comfortable.

The room was great except for the smell of bleach, it was so overwhelming that we had to leave the door open to get fresh air which meant no aircon so it was hot. The bathroom has no fan so gets very stuffy after a shower.

Very convenient by the train station, room I stayed was small but was all I needed. Great staff and the breakfast service was good. Only thing is the coffee is not great. Very walkable area and very safe. Oh and solid AC!

Have stayed at Montestella a few times over the last 3 or 4 years.. One this occasion had a very small room at the back of the property.. Was clean, very comfortable bed and plenty of luggage space.. The shower however was extremely tight.. A larger person would struggle to use this area effectively.. A little disappointed with the shower situation but otherwise okay with basic breakfast included

The staff was really friendly and accommodating. When we left we needed to leave our bags up until 18:00 and they gave us the safety to do so. They help you get to where you want to go. Really thorough cleaning, great infrastructure. It’s 400 meters away from the train station and it’s located in one of the main streets where you can shop, take the bus, enjoy a lot of good food and get to the touristic port (to go to amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, etc). All in all I would recommend it!

Great location. Most staff were hood, except for the abrasive woman who handled our initial check-in. She was rude to my wife, basically barking at her in italian for walking on a staircase that ostensibly went to the wrong sdction of the hotel. Polite, courteous communication makes all the difference.

Good Great room, nice AC, really clean, great location. Bad Hospitality is missing, staff is sometimes rude, the older man was. Only one staff, the younger man was polite and warm, all others are indifferent. Feels like they are angry you are there. If you ask them something they will say they don’t know and to figure it out. Probably normal there, but quite a shock if you’re from Canada where hotels have high levels of hospitality. Overall a nice hotel and decent breakfast with a great location so probably worth the bad service.

The staff were wonderful truly excellent hospitality from start to finish. The hotel itself was a solid 10/10 in every aspect: service, cleanliness, and overall comfort. The location is unbeatable ,close to everything, especially the train station and the ferry port, which made getting around super easy. Breakfast was a highlight as well, with great options and service running until 10:30. Highly recommend!

The location was excellent, but construction in front of the hotel very loud and dusty. Sonya on evening shift very helpful, but day shift staff very surly. Great American coffee - needed some additional choices of hot food at breakfast. Room clean

Clean, no frills hotel which was great for the one day stopover we had before our early morning train to Florence. Comfortable beds, accommodating staff who pulled together an impromptu travel breakfast for us at 5:30am (restaurant didn't open until 7am). Good location on main pedestrian walkway / road, relatively near the waterfront / port and 5 min walk from the train station.

Receptionists were all very helpful. I asked several questions and I was helped with a smile. Breakfast was great. I always left pleasantly full.

Great no frills family run hotel in centre of town - short walk from historic centre & 10 minutes from railway station / ferry ports. Clean with a good breakfast offering plus super friendly staff.

We stayed at Hotel Montestella during our trip to Salerno. Overall, the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The only negative was the air conditioning was on very high and the room was cold. We weren't able to adjust the air in our room and had to ask the hotel staff. They were very helpful.

Easy walk to Train and Ferry terminals (10mins). Booked superior room and it was spacious, neat and clean rooms. Breakfast is ok, Italians don’t offer good Buffett breakfast options across all hotels….so don’t waste your money on breakfast in Italy. Overall good property and close to lot of dining options.

Excellent location right on the main shopping street but still very quiet in the room (our room was on the 4th floor). The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good. It is very.close to the ferry and train station.

Right in the center of town Salerno was a stop over to get a train to Bari. A delightful town with a great vibe and excellent food.

Location of the property was good as it is in the main shopping mall area and there are lots of restaurants nearby.. Breakfast provided was okay but limited in that they only served scrambled eggs available from the precooked tray, some cured meats and cheese were served, pastries, cereal and fruit.. Most disappointing was drinking water was not provided and charged at 2.5 euro per bottle.. No clear notifications to tell you that it will be charged.. Not happy about that

Il soggiorno in hotel è stato molto confortevole per quanto riguarda la stanza, l’accoglienza e la disponibilità delle ragazze alla reception e la pulizia della stanza e degli spazi. La posizione è veramente strategica, con tutti i mezzi pubblici a breve distanza.Unica nota stonata è la colazione, non adeguata al livello dell’hotel sia come qualità del buffet che come disponibilità e cordialità del personale. Unica pecca riscontrata che non altera l’impressione positiva del nostro soggiorno a Salerno.

Amazing hotel right in the middle of Sorrento. We loved our hotel stay. The breakfast was incredible!! Will stay in future.

Fantastic location close to pedestrian streets, restaurants, shopping, waterfront walkway, ferries and train station. Self serve breakfast includes wide range of food and beverage options and generous operating hours. Bed was comfortably firm and shower spacious, worked well. Thicker towels would have been appreciated. Cooling system that seemed to automatically turn off each day and require a call to the front desk in order to restart was somewhat annoying. Stayed in a room for a single which tho small was well-designed so spacious enough. Helpful front desk staff.

Great location for being in Salerno and close to restaurants, seaside walk, ferries and shopping. Breakfast was substantial and staff helpful and courteous! Definitely recommend! Being particular- towels could be thicker and more luxurious, and also used to lotion being offered in the bathroom…. But maybe these are North American things!
