Very comfortable and reasonable hotel right in the center of Santo Domingo and close to everything. Lovely to sit out on the balcony and watch the world go by.

Deberian cambiar cajas fuertes muy viejas nunca funciono, las camas muy viajas hay que remodelar todo el moviliario esta muy viejo, el desayuno deberia tener mas variedad todos los dias lo mismo ya los ultimos dos dias tuve que comer fuera pues para variar, por dos o tres noches corridas se fue el agua y llegaba al dia siguiente, el hotel tiene un buen potencial el la zona pero hay que invertir en remodelacion para la atraccion de los turistas.

El hotel estaba centrico, tiene buena ubicacion, pero la alberca es muy pequeña, y aparte estaba sucia, por otro lado varios me reportaron cucarachas e insectos en sus habitaciones, no las limpiaban diario, y la persona que atendia en las mañanas el desayuno te atendia de mala gana y con mala cara

The location was good. Right in the heart of it all in the old colonial district. Lots of sights within walking distance. The front desk people were quite nice. The room was small. With a capital SM. Haha. But I could turn around ok. A/C worked. Water in shower 🚿 was hot (after a minute or two). 4th floor patio area was relaxing. Pool was freezing.

El hotel tiene una excelente ubicación para visitar la zona colonial además incluye estacionamiento cerrado. Los empleados del hotel son amables, en especial el joven de la recepción y el maletero. Deben mejorar mucho en la higiene de las habitaciones y baño. La habitación tenia fuere olor a humedad, las puertas con apariencia de hongo (verde). El baño no olia nada bien, tanto la bañera y el piso con sucio y las toallas deshiladas. Entiendo que un más atención a estos aspectos de higiene pueden mejorar la experiencia de los huespedes. Espacio razonable por el precio.

Nos despertamos con cucarachas en la almohada, quisimos que se hiciera un reembolso parcial y el hotel se negó. NO se queden en este hotel por mas que esté bien ubicado , no vale la pena pasarla mal y aparte no te apoyen a resolver esta incomodidad, pues obviamente un cambio de habitación con esta situación NO soluciona la pésima experiencia.

Está lugar no está acto para dormir, está llena de cucarachas, el baño tiene mojo en todas las paredes, las sábanas y toallas estaban usadas tendidas sin lavar. Yo abandoné el hotel después de hacer el check in y me tuve que ir a otro hotel en otra localización. No es recomendable ni higiénico hospedare en este hotel. También luego de ir a recepción a devolver y entregar la habitación. El puertero me cobró dinero para abrirme la puerta y poder sacar mi vehículo en la noche aún sabiendo que devolví la habitación sin utilizar la noche que había reservado. Al momento de hacer el check out ni siquiera solicité un reembolso por qué solo quería salir rápido de ese hotel debido a la malas condiciones en la que se encuentra.

The bathroom was dirty and in the darkness many kakerlakes going in. Horrible!

En esta última ocasión tube un percance con la habitación que me quede.Habian muchas cucarachas y trate de que dieran un reembolso deblonque pague y no consegui nada .ahora voy a sacar el tiempo para hacer una demanda por insalubridad.

This time, I got a quiet room, which was a big improvement over past noisy stays. For the price, it was great—spacious, quiet, with good Wi-Fi, TV, and hallway access to drinking water. Essentials like soap, shampoo, toilet paper, and towels were all provided. A solid budget-friendly option in a great location. Just be sure to request a room away from the street if you're sensitive to noise.

Very close to Zona Colonia. Not great value for money. Pretty old hotel, Wifi spotty in the room. Poor service.

People who work there are very friendly and helpful / polite. Place is very fair priced. Rooms (at least mine, smallest category) are very simple and very small. Breakfast is small but enjoyable. Overall - very recommendable - and perfect for small budget.

No es como en las fotos, el hotel esta falto de mantenimiento llegué en la noche y mi habitación no estaba me ubicaron en una y tuve que esperar hasta el medio día siguiente para que me diera la que me correspondía el lavado estaba tapado la puerta de mi habitación no tenía seguro la llave era puro lujo solo para prender la luz, porque se abría sin llave una gran inseguridad tenía que dejar todo bien guardado y bajo llave en mi maleta los laboratorios y baños se ven viejos el desayuno sencillo un sándwich de jamón y listo la muchacha de recepción muy amable pero en sí las instalaciones de las habitaciones muy mal el wi-fi se iba y se venía las sabanas de la almohada estaban manchadas en sí en lo personal no lo recomiendo,

HORRIBLE, the room that i booked, they give me different, my working closet is more bigger than the room, with a little bed for 10 yrs babies, they charge me extra to get the trim that booked i did pay it cause i was tired it was late night, i booked with breakfast for 2, when i got to the lady who were serving she stated my name is not on her list i better contact receptionist,when i got there to ask him he started screaming on me, said I never booked with breakfast i asking even I never book please more respect for your guests talk with me with more respect, cause i am here not for free and you made me pay an upgrade that i never planed to and now you are screaming on me for no reason cause i am asking you for something, and i requested to speak with his superior he stated: I am the superior here. I just got up packed my stuff and check in an another hotel paying the same amount but with a big bed big room, and staff good with me. Guys DO NOT STAY at Discovery Hotel with the receptionist at day time your staying will be miserable and more than a nightmare, cause he has no respect for BLACK people HE his A RACIST and ignorant he shouldn't work at the reception. He should work there neither, In front of me there was another couple he treated them like gods, so Yah saben los morenos como yo mejor mis gentes buscan otros HOTEL no se quedan allí ni loco!

The men on the reception it was very racist with my boyfriend and me because we are Dominicans, when I asked him to a room service, he answer very bad to me and disrespectful

Awful experience. Paid for three nights and because I showed up at 4 am they sold my room to another guest. Transferred me to a “sister hotel” at 5 am, felt like I was about to be robbed. The transferred hotel was horrendous. No pool, just awful and dirty.

Missed my flight so came back to stay another night using my reward night earned for staying here for 7 days. Left property maybe 3 hours ago to find out my room was already occupied and the only rooms available either has no TV or no refrigerator. Basically not as described. The front desk agent eventually upgraded me to a bigger room but there was no refrigerator and the TV was not connected to the internet service for smart tv programming like the room I had for 7 days, so I had a differentiated experience. Very inexpensive hotel and centrally located within the city but they need to establish consistency. I am not sure if because I used a reward night as to why I was being treated indifferently upon my return or if they can see such details but I definitely felt slighted.

Demoraram para checkin meia hora. Quarto sem toalha. Banheiro não é possível sentar no vaso. Não cabe. Não falaram sobre café da manhã

When I arrived at the hotel, the staff told me that they had no rooms available. I made my reservation 2 days before arriving at the hotel through this app. At least they had the decency to send me to another hotel to spend the night, but the hotel they sent me to was of a lower category than the one I booked.

Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich. Alles ist simpel gehalten. Das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut. Das kleine Frühstück war lecker und lokal. Hotel Discovery ist ein sicheres Haus, sehr zentral gelegen. Die Angestellten sind hilfsbereit und kennen sich aus wenn es um Empfehlungen im Umkreis geht. Es war mein 15. Aufenthalt dort. Gerne wieder. Gruß.

Nice place close to everything

The location is the main attraction, for sure! You'll be within walking distance to some of the city's most iconic places. Depending on the room you get and its location in the building, your mornings could be very noisy or tolerable due to traffic outside.

I booked Hotel Discovery because I was looking for an inexpensive stay. I knew going in that this was not going to be a 5-Star Hotel. It is a small, locally owned and operated hotel. My room was clean and the air conditioning worked. The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. There is a little corner store downstairs with very friendly people. The hotel is only a one minute walk from Calle El Conde, which is the main pedestrian road through the zona colonial and along the Conde there are many different food options. There's several American chain restaurants. There are many restaurants that have international menus with American, Italian, Mexican, Dominican, etc. sections. A less than 15 minute walk gets you to Barrio Chino (China Town). I found the area to be pretty safe. I never once felt uncomfortable in my surroundings and I went into the local neighborhoods where most tourists are afraid to go and hung out with the locals. There is a park behind the old monastery that does a block party every Sunday at 6 pm. If you want REAL Dominican food, it's neighborhood restaurants like this that you want to check out. I have found Dominicans to be some of the most friendly and hospitable people I have ever met. This was not my first trip to Santo Domingo, but it was my first stay at Hotel Discovery. I will be back. You are in Latin America. Keep in mind that loud traffic ans bugs are common.
