Overall it was a great experience staying at Kadoya Hotel. The front desk staff are very polite in welcoming us. Hotel provides free various amenities. The location is centered in Shinjuku, very convenient to travel to different places of Tokyo by train or metro. It is within a 10 minute walk to train and bus station. Thera are many places around hotel to dine, we personally recommend visiting omoide yokocho street to experience local nightlife. One thing to note about the rooms: we booked a quadruple standard room with 4 single beds. It was nice since each family member gets their own bed (we are a family of 4). The room is pretty clean and quiet. However, the room is a bit tight so keep that in mind if you have a lot of luggage. Finally for mentioning , the convenient store LAWSON (open 24 hours) is just next door.

The hotel that is located right in the shinjuku West area where the majority of the food is located. Not far from the JR station as well as the Keio station. I simply took the airport bus from the airport to shinjuku West Station and walked over within minutes. This was my 2nd time staying in the hotel, the room seems to have upgrade than the last time I stayed there, or maybe my memory was wrong. I like it alot better this time and for such good value being in the heart of the city. The amenities are sufficient, thou I was quite confused with male version of Lotion and such so I ended up putting everything on afterward 😆 It is right next to a Lawson so you can get almost anything u may need just steps away. The hotel stay I booked included breakfast so it was easy and simple for the morning not needing to find food by myself.

Great area and service from this hotel! It’s an older building so it doesn’t have that fresh hotel feel like some of our other stays in Japan. BUT the rooms are large, we had a personal massage chair in our room, and there’s a smart TV which connects to Netflix, Hulu, Google chrome cast and more. They also will store your luggage with them prior to your reservation which was a huge lifesaver for us since we were traveling to Osaka and didn’t want to bring tons of luggage with us, so we left half of it here 3 days before our reservation without a fee! After checkout, they’ll hold it for a few hours I think then charge a fee. The location is also unbeatable. Downstairs is a Lawsons. And it’s a 5 min walk to Shinjuku station. It’s in the neighborhood of lots of restaurants, convenience stores & tons of shops at Shinjuku station. The Godzilla statue is about 15 min walk away!

Hotel does not look like much from the outside but the rooms are large, nice and clean. The electric massage chair in the room was awsome. We were on the fourth floor and heard all the street noise.

Property a bit run down - carpets worn, AC only worked ok, linens a bit threadbare. Four beds necessary for my family but they were really squeezed into the room. But clean, plenty of free amenities in the lobby, and staff very helpful and friendly.

Wonderful staff and nice room. Close to to everything. My only complaint is that there was only one working dryer in the laundry room and it needed to be run twice to dry clothes - which makes it hard for several guests that need to do laundry. But the hotel was nice and I would stay again.

What a great affordable hotel. It is good for solo and couple travelers. Laundry is available on site and cost only a few hundred yen. It is close walk to the station and night life. Many restaurants are close by and also the convenient stores for quick snacks. The rooms have all the amenities needed.

TL;DR: A great hotel for short stays. Get breakfast elsewhere. The hotel is located less than 5 minutes from JR Shinjuku station, and within the western part of town (Nishi-Shinjuku) which is a great area and the main reason we chose to stay there. It's the perfect hub for exploring Tokyo. Reception staff is excellent and very welcoming, they really do their best! The hotel itself is slightly dated. The room we got didn't have a safe or any USB power connections, and was too small for two people (book a larger room if you have anything more than carry-ons with you). There are two laundry machines at the hotel, which is not a lot, but the tumble dryers are gas-operated and therefore capable of actual drying (as opposed to electric ones). The main issue we had with our stay was the hotel's breakfast service, handled by the adjacent Cafe la Voie. The selection consists of only two types of breakfast, western and Japanese. Service is slow to the point that one morning we had to bail after 25 minutes, still hungry. The self-serve coffee machine does not froth milk- you can ask for a latte from the staff, but you will be met with cold stares and a bill of 600 yen (!). It's much better off having breakfast at the Pronto across the street, or at the Starbucks two minutes away.

Our room has four single beds, which is convenient for accommodating a family of four. The room is clean and well-kept. The hotel lobby offers free bathroom essentials. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. I give it only 4 stars due to the limited amenities offered.

We stayed in 4 different cities and 4 different hotels on our travels in Japan. Kadoya was our least favorite. When arriving our room was nice, but the bathroom was in major need of updating, had black mold everywhere, smelled strongly of mold and the tub wouldn’t drain while showering. You just stand in your dirty shower water. The windows were also very poorly insulated and you hear everything going on outside in the street, so bring a noise machine to be able to sleep at night. We very kindly asked the front desk to have the bathroom cleaned while we were out for the day and came back to a much cleaner bathroom. We appreciated that. The area is very close to everything you might need. There’s even a small massage chair in the room, and that was a nice surprise. But we gave it big cuts in score for the bathroom, and noise. After a long day of walking and sightseeing, the last thing you want is to come back to a gross hotel bathroom.

This is a very good hotel in Shinjuku, near the Shinjuku Station (7 min) and in the western part of the station, which is calmer that the upper part, where there are all the places and lights at night. The hotel itself is good, and the room was very clean and confortable.

Once we figured out how to get out of Shinjuku Station, we realized how great of a location the hotel was. Kabukicho was only a 15 min walk and the Metropolitan Govt Building a few blocks away. The room smelled musty and looks outdated, but it was good enough. The room was spacious enough to fit our luggage. Appreciated the extra hair tools in the bathroom! We also added on breakfast and it wasn’t worth it IMO. Breakfast is in the attached cafe and you get a preset Western style or Japanese style breakfast. We had both and they were okay.

Had a really great experience at this property and staff were extremely helpfully. I had wish the walls were a bit more soundproof, as you can help other guest coming in late, while your are sleeping. Overall positive experience.

The Kadoya isn’t a fancy hotel, with a small lobby and limited services. Our room with two single beds was a bit rough, looking a little worn, but the room size was adequate. The bed was a little firm for my liking. You do hear street noise and ear plugs were necessary. But the HVAC was extremely quiet and the bathroom with generous shower and fancy Toto toilet were a treat. It’s close to Shinjuku and close to a great many restaurants. My wife and I are glad we stayed here, and we’ll be back to the Kadoya later in our Japanese holiday.

Very nice hotel! There is a Lawson next door which is convenient to buy breakfast at 4:30am (if you have jetlag). The toilet is very nice and clean. We booked the quadruple room, and it’s very spacious. They have a very big smart TV which is very convenient - we just sign in with our Youtube account and we can watch more videos about Japan. Yamato transport is available too. Very convenient overall!!

Staff was beyond helpful. We lost a phone while out in a different part of Tokyo and the woman at the front desk helped us call all the areas we had been that day to see if anybody had found the phone. One place had found the phone and we were able to retrieve thanks to the staffs help.

I did get to the hotel extra early, and asked kindly if they could let me in the room early. They made me wait forever, but the rules are the rules. The front desk staff hardly spoke English, very surprised that in a major city, the a lack of English-speaking front desk staff. VERY TINY room. The bathroom was smaller than a cruise ship. OK here are all the positives. Very clean room. The front desk staff were always smiling (but little English), and very nice staff. Great housekeeping staff. Elevator, refrigerator, and very quiet room on the 10th floor.The GIANT Shinjuku train station is only about 5 blocks away. Great local restaurants all within walking distance. The staff was very attentive and tried their best to fulfill my need/request. I stayed in a single comfort room and it seemed the TV was too big for the room. The location was excellent! There are many good restaurants around and big department stores.

This is a very good hotel in Shinjuku, near the Shinjuku Station (7 min) and in the western part of the station, which is calmer that the upper part, where there are all the places and lights at night. The hotel itself is good, and the room was very clean and confortable.

Caught limosine bus to keio plaza hotel then walked one block. Hotel small very clean, very friendly staff. Has self service laundry. Restraunt next door or two cafes across the road for breaky. Close to subway entrance to shinjuku station. Many restraunts down the street. Great place to stay.

Trevliga och otroligt hjälpsam personal. Hotellet ligger nära Shinjuku station, lawson och 7/11. Jättebra temperatur på rummet om man väljer med luftkonditionering! Rummen var bra lite smutsigt på vissa ställen som jag såg som är 2m lång. Sängarna var otroligt hårda. Väldigt likt att sova på en träsoffa. Frukost var bra. Blev lite enformigt efter 10 dagar när man bara kan variera mellan en japansk eller en västerländsk. Inget ställe jag rekommenderar om du är glutenintolerant. Dom var otroligt hjälpsamma för att försöka fixa frukost men det blev egentligen ris, liten lax och soppa för min sambo.

This property is a no frill property. The advantage of staying here is the location. It is clean but lack amenities that you would get at other properties. The bed we stayed in was sagging on one side. The light in the bathroom was dark. We asked the front desk to see if it could be fixed but we were told that’s the norm. So we opted to keep the bathroom door open so the hallway light could permeate to the bathroom. We were part of a group and others in the group stated their bathroom light was bright. The front desk barely spoke English so it was a challenge to communicate. We purchased breakfast at the hotel for 6 days and got the same fixed menu. American or Japanese. No fresh fruit. It was not the usual buffet. Aside from the hotel being clean and its location. I probably am not planning to stay in the future.

Appreciated the fact it was so close to Shinjuku station. I would absolutely recommend getting the breakfast, as the cafe is a great place to have your first meal of the day. Very walkable to many things. Staff were excellent. I would consider staying here again if I visit Tokyo.

Excellent location- near shinjuku station and airport shuttle. very helpful staff. I stayed 5 nights and my only gripe is the breakfast. They have 3 set meals, which i really prefer to buffets, but A and B are too salty. I’ve never had a saltier salmon or sausages. I wish they have more options or better food overall. Luckily there are plenty of cafes nearby to choose from.
