Grounds are perfectly done. Who ever is in charge of the landscaping should be honored. Room is clean, large and well appointed. Breakfast is ok, but needs fresh fruit and juice. This might have been available and was just not offered to me. Staff are kind, thoughtful, helpful and very pleasant. There is some loud noise at night from a bar or something, which makes afternoon and night time walks not peaceful at all. This is a shame since the inn and homes in the area are just so wonderful to view. Also the street noise from some rooms can be difficult to unhear. Thank you to all who are making my stay so enjoyable.

A beautiful, historic Inn! The staff members were very professional and helpful. The food was excellent! The grounds were well maintained and the flowers are beautiful! I most certainly will be back!

Although an historic property the Inn has been updated and we enjoyed a clean, well appointed room right down to a sound machine to ensure audial comfort and improve sleep! Freshly baked cookies and caramel apples greeted us in the foyer and a detailed and spotless coffee and tea bar was just outside the guest rooms. The custom breakfast served in the main inn was excellent. Warm scones, rich coffee, French toast with Vermont maple syrup and perfect eggs with sautéed baby spinach in front of a fire listening to Miss Simone and other classic jazz vocalists…..simply heaven Cannot wait for another opportunity to return.

We loved so many aspects of this hotel: breakfast at Jessica’s, historical architecture of the buildings, helpfulness of the staff, etc. We stayed in a room with no comfortable chair, just a couple padded footstools. We almost needed a ladder to climb into the bed. The mattress was very firm. One day the towels weren’t picked up nor the room refreshed though we asked for this service. They did rectify this later in the day. Our room was on the second floor which was difficult for 2 older people without an elevator and hauling luggage up and down stairs. The gardens on the grounds are lovely.

Beautiful inn with spacious rooms and an excellent restaurant on site. Optional Dinner was fantastic. Complementary breakfast was top notch. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Note that the inn has most of the rooms on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator, but that was not an issue for us. Grounds are lovely with nice flower plantings. Highly recommend for a small town Vermont experience. This town is the setting for the Newhart Show of the 80s to 90s and the Waybury Inn, that was the model for the Stratford Inn, is a few miles away and they offer informal tours and dining.

Occasionally breakfast not always made correctly to order but service polite and attentive. Room above bar was noisy till 10 PM on Friday’s “ DJ” night. Windows but one were stuck shut. Dinner at Jessica’s very pleasant and well prepared. Lovely gardens and lots of tree shade to sit under and relax. No in room fridge and had to ask for ice at the bar.

The staff are very friendly, responsive, thorough. The inn itself is very well maintained and tastefully done with wonderful outdoor spaces to sit as well. Breakfast is gourmet every morning with delicious cookies as treats. I’d highly recommend Swift Inn to anyone.

We stayed at The Swift House this past weekend and it was fantastic! The staff was very attentive and above & beyond for us- from delivering fresh towels to our room to packing up our delicious breakfast to go!! I cannot say enough positive about our stay- it was that good. Also I will add the Swift House was spotless and beautifully maintained. Thank you again for a fantastic time, Kerri C

There were two small piles of beard clippings on the floor of the bedroom. There was a long cobweb hanging from the bathroom ceiling. The “cold” water faucet in the bathroom ran HOT unless you let the water run at least 3-5 minutes. Sometimes it was so hot you couldn’t hold your hand under the water! On the other hand, everyone was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

We were in the Gate House and found the proximity to Rte 7 and the traffic light made our room noisy because of truck traffic. All staff very welcoming with the exception of our waitperson at Jessica's Restaurant for an evening meal.

Quaint property, well maintained and conveniently located. Room decor very inviting. My only suggestion is a change in mattress. I could feel the springs which didn’t make for a comfortable night’s sleep. Breakfast included was superb, staff very friendly. Overall, highly recommend this property if in town for any MIDD events.

Beautiful inn with spacious rooms and an excellent restaurant on site. Optional Dinner was fantastic. Complementary breakfast was top notch. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Note that the inn has most of the rooms on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator, but that was not an issue for us. Grounds are lovely with nice flower plantings. Highly recommend for a small town Vermont experience. This town is the setting for the Newhart Show of the 80s to 90s and the Waybury Inn, that was the model for the Stratford Inn, is a few miles away and they offer informal tours and dining.

Address online is not address for registration . When I got to to the wrong area I tried to call and no one answered to help me figure out where to go. Of course it was in the middle of a snow storm and after dark. Restaurant was not open, I was told there was a bar but come to find out it was in an entirely different building.

The staff are very friendly, responsive, thorough. The inn itself is very well maintained and tastefully done with wonderful outdoor spaces to sit as well. Breakfast is gourmet every morning with delicious cookies as treats. I’d highly recommend Swift Inn to anyone.

We were in the Gate House and found the proximity to Rte 7 and the traffic light made our room noisy because of truck traffic. All staff very welcoming with the exception of our waitperson at Jessica's Restaurant for an evening meal.

We loved so many aspects of this hotel: breakfast at Jessica’s, historical architecture of the buildings, helpfulness of the staff, etc. We stayed in a room with no comfortable chair, just a couple padded footstools. We almost needed a ladder to climb into the bed. The mattress was very firm. One day the towels weren’t picked up nor the room refreshed though we asked for this service. They did rectify this later in the day. Our room was on the second floor which was difficult for 2 older people without an elevator and hauling luggage up and down stairs. The gardens on the grounds are lovely.

We stayed at The Swift House this past weekend and it was fantastic! The staff was very attentive and above & beyond for us- from delivering fresh towels to our room to packing up our delicious breakfast to go!! I cannot say enough positive about our stay- it was that good. Also I will add the Swift House was spotless and beautifully maintained. Thank you again for a fantastic time, Kerri C

Grounds are perfectly done. Who ever is in charge of the landscaping should be honored. Room is clean, large and well appointed. Breakfast is ok, but needs fresh fruit and juice. This might have been available and was just not offered to me. Staff are kind, thoughtful, helpful and very pleasant. There is some loud noise at night from a bar or something, which makes afternoon and night time walks not peaceful at all. This is a shame since the inn and homes in the area are just so wonderful to view. Also the street noise from some rooms can be difficult to unhear. Thank you to all who are making my stay so enjoyable.

Quaint property, well maintained and conveniently located. Room decor very inviting. My only suggestion is a change in mattress. I could feel the springs which didn’t make for a comfortable night’s sleep. Breakfast included was superb, staff very friendly. Overall, highly recommend this property if in town for any MIDD events.

Overall an enjoyable stay in this quaint country Inn. Some mould in the shower stall, and shower temperature inconsistent. Occasionally breakfast not always made correctly to order but service polite and attentive. Room above bar was noisy till 10 PM on Friday’s “ DJ” night. Windows but one were stuck shut. Dinner at Jessica’s very pleasant and well prepared. Lovely gardens and lots of tree shade to sit under and relax. No in room fridge and had to ask for ice at the bar.

There were two small piles of beard clippings on the floor of the bedroom. There was a long cobweb hanging from the bathroom ceiling. The “cold” water faucet in the bathroom ran HOT unless you let the water run at least 3-5 minutes. Sometimes it was so hot you couldn’t hold your hand under the water! On the other hand, everyone was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

The Swift House Inn was a wonderful place to celebrate my friend’s 75th Birthday! From the moment we checked in with Rachael to our check out with Cassie it was perfect. Dinner at Jessica’s was excellent and so was breakfast. The staff was amazing, everyone we came in contact with was happy to assist with anything and they were sincerely happy to be there!

We stayed in one of the rooms in the Carriage House (as opposed to the Main House). It's by the road but wasn't too loud. The grounds are impeccably kept, with beautiful flowers and veggies growing everywhere. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast (shout-out to Linus for being the most friendly and welcoming server!). Beautiful porch spaces for eating and relaxing, including a great screened in porch off the back of the Main House where we enjoyed the sunset. The room was not huge but the bathroom was nice. The decor is funky and more on the modern end, so if you're looking for a traditional Victorian vibe, this isn't it. We enjoyed learning about the history of the home and the area, and catching a glimpse of Griswald, the Official Inn Cat.
