I booked this hotel because it listed having 4 hot tubs. I think their heating system was broken because all four were not even tepid. The last day of our 4 days, the water in 2 of them was warm, but certainly not hot. In la Fortuna area, one would expect thermal hot spring temperature if the hotel is calling itself a spa. Beautiful pool and grounds, wonderful breakfast, and very nice people working at the hotel.

This is a nice hotel. Check in was easy and the room was comfortable. Our only disappointment was that only one of the five hot tubs was actually hot. We were told to push the button on each ahead of time to warm them up, but that was unsuccessful.

Beautiful little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of la Fortuna. Having said that, you really do need a vehicle to get around and in to town. Buffet breakfast was amazing and bar at the pool had great service and food.

This place was perfect for getaway with friends! We had 4 rooms, and they thoughtfully put us all in one little building so we were together. It’s a little slice of the jungle with sloths and monkeys and tons of birds. Just gorgeous with really nice landscaping. But also with a nice pool, so many hot tubs, a trail, a spa and everything you need for a great time in La Fortuna. The breakfast had something for everyone. The only downside (or upside?) was that the wifi didn’t work in the rooms.

This hotel was perfect for what we wanted. It is about a 3-4 min drive to the restaurants in town. Daily breakfast was very good, the spa was marvelous! We went twice for massages, the pool and separate jacuzzi’s were great.

La vista es espectacular y las áreas comunes son limpias y cómodas. Nos tuvimos que cambiar de habitación por que la primer estaba muy encerrada y con mucha humedad. La segunda estuvo mejor, aunque ninguna coincidía mucho con las fotos anunciadas. No recibimos información previa sobre el mantenimiento de la piscina, y fue decepcionante llegar y saber que no la podíamos usar. El staff fue muy amable y servicial.

What a great property, exceeded expectations, beautiful grounds, several hottub pools that were private with lush vegetation, great restaurant and daily breakfasts included with our room rate, walkable to town (approx 2 miles, safe sidewalks)

The property and grounds were beautiful and clean. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We were disappointed in the thermal/hot tubs as only one was warm at all. Two were ice cold. Also, the WiFi was great outside of the room but nearly no connection in the room itself, which obviously is not the point of being in Costa Rica but after our busy days of activity and having a teen with me, we wanted to connect with friends and family, etc…. The included breakfast was awesome and the service was top notch. Prices for lunch-dinner seemed very high so we only ate one dinner there on the property a night after an all day excursion because we didn’t have the energy to go anywhere in La Fortuna. Overall a good stay and a stunning view of the volcano right from our balcony when the clouds broke.

Property was very well maintained. We enjoyed walking through the gardens. Very well lit paths for walking at night and enjoying the fish ponds. The rooms are extremely clean and staff takes the time to leave a unique town animal on the bed each day. We booked this hotel the day before our stay and it exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed both nights on the patio chairs enjoying the sounds of nature and a relentless bullfrog.

Everything was good for the only thing that the pools have too much chlorine and that the cleaning person placed too much insecticide inside the room and is not good for those who suffer from allergy.

We had a great trip, the property was beautiful. We saw so many different species of birds, hundreds of hummingbirds and toucans. The free breakfast was very good. We ate all of our meals on site, its a tad bit expensive compared to other hotels We booked an excursion at the front desk for the next day and didn't have any problems. The company they use for excursions is one of the best we had used during our stay. The pool and hot tubs were clean, the pool bar staff made amazing drinks. They do have a trail you can walk, but it has some type of black sludge run off going down the stairs which smelled awful in the morning. We didn't walk into town but did go for a walk. There are no sidewalks, but just stay on the shoulder, and you will be fine. The front balcony area for the lower rooms is pretty private with all the large plant life surrounding which I absolutely loved. The only downfall we found was that the rooms were very musty and moldy. We have a couple of people in our family who are asthmatic, so it created an issue. We figured it was due to the humidity in the area, but we stayed at another hotel in the area, and it wasn't like this. This hotel has amazing potential, I was very sad about the state of the rooms.

The place is very clean, the staff is amazing, the food (breakfast) is the best I have had in a hotel. They nice pools and mini hot tubs that give you privacy to enjoy with your group. I 100% recommend this.

The property was clean but the gardens were not well kept. The staff was friendly but not very helpful. We stayed in the suite with the jacuzzi. We were told it would take 15-20 minutes to warm up; it took over 44 minutes to get to a jacuzzi temperature. One of my toiletry items went missing.

Overall, the stay was solidly good, but not great. There is misleading messaging regarding WiFi accommodations as these only reach into common areas, but this is not made known on Hotels.com nor their direct website, which created significant issues with my partner having to complete work during our trip. We additionally had issues during breakfast for dietary accommodations which made us feel like an inconvenience for the request. The room, grounds, nature trail, common areas, pool and tubs were all beautiful and everything was clean, well kept, and aesthetically pleasing. The hotel met our basic needs and allowed us to still have a nice trip together overall.

The room was very nice with great view even though the volcano was cloudy. The spa and pool areas were great, especially the jacuzzi area where our family were able to relax in a more secluded area. The staff was great from reception to the restaurant. Breakfast was really good and service was top!!

Casa Luna definitely set the mood for our Rain Forest excursion. Beautiful Resort Like Hotel with a lush landscape setting. It felt very secluded even though it was an only a 5 minute from the main street. The rooms are very private, spacious and clean. Our balcony had a view of the volcano. The grounds are very well maintained, we enjoyed the 6 hot tubs nestled away from the main pool. The staff was friendly and attentive. Nice dining in the restaurant .The message topped off our experience.

The main reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because the pillows are terribly big and hard, we had to sleep with our heads on the mat every night or we would end up with a stiff neck! But overall it was a great place to stay in La Fortuna!

Pros: the hotel grounds are nice, staff were very helpful/friendly, the pool area is great, and the breakfast was excellent. It's in a great location close to La Fortuna waterfall and walking distance to the El Salto rope swing and a few restaurants. We had a car though, and I would recommend having one if staying here for better access to La Fortuna. Cons: the wifi doesn't work in the rooms - only in the pool area, restaurant, and lobby. The bed (specifically the pillows) were not comfortable, quite hard. Lastly, the walls are very thing and you can hear everything. If you have good neighbors it's not a problem, but we had some young girls partying at 3:00am above us and it was terrible. Despite that on the first night, the staff were accomodating and moved us upon request. Overall, I would stay again.

We stayed in a “Superior Room” on the ground floor - it was large, clean, and the AC was effective. Everything was great at this hotel. Staff was friendly and hotel was neat and clean. Only bad thing was the Internet was awe full. Hotel needs to invest in more routers closer to the guest rooms. It’s very inconvenient that the wifi does not work in any rooms. Having to walk to the restaurant or reception area to make a phone call or use a computer was very frustrating especially if you’re on a business trip. Because of this i would not stay at this hotel again. Other than the wifi issue everything was excellent.

The staff and restaurant was great!!! Was disappointed in the room. Wifi does not work in the rooms, but we were the farthest room from main office. There was only a single overhead light, no bedside lamps or lights. There needs to be shades on the windows as the morning light comes in so early in Costa Rica. Beds were not comfortable. If the hotel would add some toppers to the beds and throw in some small lamps for the bedside, the rooms would be improved. We did not use the pool or the hot tubs, as we were using the natural hot springs in the area.

At the restaurant, we tried Ceviche Tilapia, it was a great option for dinner, it was fresh and delicious, and also the Chef prepared the "patacones" we ask for as side dish for the Ceviche, even though it was not listed in the menu. Love the hot springs!

I’m very disappointed with my stay, and even though the hotel eventually tried to help, the experience did not match what was advertised on Expedia. The biggest issue was the misleading description: Expedia listed the Deluxe Room as having two queen beds, but they were actually small double beds. The room was clearly meant for two people, yet we were three and had to request extra towels, water, and glasses because the room was only set up for two. They also charged for bottled water, which most hotels offer for free. We had no Wi-Fi or phone signal in the room at all, even with a local Costa Rica eSIM. The balcony didn’t have signal either, despite being told it would. When we asked about this, the receptionist insisted they never said they offered Wi-Fi, even though it’s listed on Expedia. Customer service was disappointing, when we asked to switch rooms, the staff were dismissive and unprofessional, and wouldn’t even look us in the eye. They moved us the next day, which was inconvenient since our stay was short. The location is also very isolated unless you have a car. You’re basically stuck at the hotel, with the only nearby place being a great new restaurant called Luisita. Everything else is far. Tours, massages, and drinks were extremely overpriced compared to options in La Fortuna. The only good part was the breakfast. Pumpkin stew was amazing. The best cerviche was at Casa Luna. Also down the road there is a coffee shop called Nomada Coffee experience. Best coffee I have ever had and I am from New York where coffee is a serious situation. I felt the Pura Vida vibe. Four days was not enough so I must return. Staff gets 100%.

This was the 2nd time we have stayed there. We returned because of the amazing experience the 1st time last year and we got the same amazing stay this year. I think they are always cleaning and taking care of the property, so rooms and hotel look amazing. The entire staff are friendly, welcoming, talkative and go out of their way to to ensure a good trip. They learn your name, even when only staying a few days. I would definitely recommend staying there.

Had a lovely stay at Casa Luna with my husband in the area of La Fortuna. It was our first time in Cost Rica and the staff was friendly, eager, and patiently answered any questions. Stuarth was usually at the front desk during our stay and had great suggestions of what to do and where to go. He organized all our excursions on different days. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Our stay at Casa was wonderful. Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The grounds were gorgeous, there is a delightful nature trail on the property (where we spotted a sloth!), and my wife and I received a wonderful massage at the spa. The room was good and the beds very comfortable. Plus the included breakfast was great. We would definitely stay here again

Stayed for 2 nights. Great location, if you have a car, that is convenient to many things without being right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Extremely quiet with amazing landscaping and birds - had a tree full of toucans one evening! Having 6 individual hot tubs was nice as one was always available. Drinks at the pool bar were very good. Entire property was very clean. Room was updated and big. Only negatives I would mention is the WiFi and TV were not the best but we were in vacation so it didn’t really bother us. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to La Fortuna!!

Beautiful little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of la Fortuna. Having said that, you really do need a vehicle to get around and in to town. Buffet breakfast was amazing and bar at the pool had great service and food.

The room was very nice with great view even though the volcano was cloudy. The spa and pool areas were great, especially the jacuzzi area where our family were able to relax in a more secluded area. My balcony view of the Arenal Volcano in morning was breathtaking!!! The breakfast buffet was amazing fresh and well stocked and clean. Everything was delicious and fresh made passion fruit juice was so refreshing. All staff were amazing and friendly. Pura Vida!!!

Great value. Hotel property and location was perfect, felt secluded, but close to town. The spa experience was magical, with natural sounds of the rainforest in the background, very relaxing. We used the Spa which was staffed by experienced and trained employees. The only issue was the food prices which was over priced similar to most places we visited in Costa Rica. The dining charges were roughly two times what we would get in the US though the overall cost of goods/services would be half or less.

There are a lot of options of where to stay in the La Fortuna area, but this Hotel was very nice! My friend and I really enjoyed the free breakfasts! And, we ate dinner at the Luna Grill twice and really loved it! On Saturday night there was a musician playing that we enjoyed as well!
