Blue Jay Lodge

I liked the hotel, the room was clean, the bed linen was clean, the bathroom was also very clean, it was also very nice that the hotel takes care of the pets that come with you, the hotel provides beds, blankets and towels for them. Cafes, restaurants, and the beach are within walking distance. Thanks to the hotel management and staff for the cleanliness and customer care!

The Blue Jay lodge is a hidden gem! Don’t miss out on this property. Perfectly positioned for walkability near the casinos and the heavenly village. I stayed here for a few days, as a local, while my house was being renovated. I can say after working at many of the high end hotels in town that the Blue Jay Lodge does it right! While the property may be quaint, The rooms are clean and comfortable. The shampoo and conditioner places in the shower is very nice as well. I loved that the TV was a smart TV so I could wind down after work by watching my favorite shows. They also have laundry on site which can be a huge plus for those long trips! They are dog friendly and the neighborhood is great to walk your pup around. Many of the nearby restaurants and breweries/bars are dog friendly too! Can’t recommend this play enough, especially if you need a reasonably priced stay in the South Lake Tahoe area!

It’s a cute little place! Well updated and accommodating! The bed was a bit softer than my back can stand but otherwise it was a great stay! The location is super convenient and parking was easy. My children enjoyed the pool greatly and I appreciated the contactless check in.

Great place for motorcycle travelers. Parking at your door, clean and spacious rooms. And a very short walk to casinos, restaurants, and shopping (and the beach!). The staff was very friendly and helpful too. Blue Jay will be my go to when staying in South Lake Tahoe!

The staff was great! Friendly and extremely quick to handle & give a solution to every little issue that came up! Parking was a little issue on the weekend, & when i sent a text, a quick solution was handled & worked out just fine! The room was very comfortable & conveniently located! We werent really bothered by any noise! The only thing that wasnt great, was there was not a closet in our room or a place to put our hanging clothes!? We ended up just hanging them on the wooden rafter! Luckily we are tall people! Other than that, it was an amazing experience and we would stay there again! The location is great, close to restaurants, heavenly & right at state line!

This was a wonderful hotel to choose. It is a contactless hotel, but I could easily call for any assistance that I needed. Our room was clean and it looked recently remodeled just like it was in the pictures. We chose this hotel because we wanted to stay in Southlake Tahoe on a budget, but still be close to all the casinos and restaurants. It was literally a 3 minute walk up to the main strip . We were not disappointed. There is a refrigerator microwave and coffee pot in your room. There are plenty of towels and soaps and shampoo, but you have access to get more if you need it. The bed in the hotel was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept .The hotel stresses a quiet stay and we did not hear a peep from anyone. There is a small pool which we did not use. We would definitely stay here again. **Some things to just keep in mind when going there some of the parking spaces are a little small on the edge of the parking facility, which might be difficult for someone with a large vehicle. Also at night, be sure to have your flashlight. The short walk from the main strip does not have any street lights.

The contactless check in and the easy access to room via pin instead of Key or key card. Made it convenient and easy. And also loved that it was pet friendly and even had separate towels and what not for the pets. The beach access was amazing and like how instead of paying the 30 dollar fee it came with vouchers to go already

There were some minor issues...the inside door knob came loose and shower water pressure was a little too high but overall it was a clean room, excellent TV options, adequate parking, good location and good value.

Self check in and out was very easy. Parking is right downstairs. The unit is newly renovated and very clean. We had all the items we needed in the unit. And the beach is within 10 min walk which is very convinient. We appreciate the complimentary beach entry vouchers, coffee, and streaming services in the TV.

Not one problem with our stay. I am enjoying these re-done motels more and more. Can’t beat the location with Heavenly shopping and food and the casinos within 5 mins (or less) of the Lodge. Comfy beds and convenient smart TV. Shower in our room was tight squeeze and wish I didn’t have to find $5 in quarters to do a load of laundry, but that is just me whining a bit. Would stay again, especially when young 4th of July revellers aren't around.

I wish I could past some pictures to show the condition was. The whole place is smelly, uncleaned. Room has no ventilation. Toilet bowl was not properly cleaned. You could see spider webs in the corners and dust everywhere. The price was way more than what you get. I absolutely do not recommend it.

I planned a special trip to Tahoe to propose to my girlfriend and booked the Blue Jay Lodge because of the jacuzzi tub and how nice the room looked online. When we walked in, I noticed earplugs on both nightstands—didn’t think much of it at the time. Later that night, my girlfriend went to take a bath and found a hair stuck in the jet. I pulled it out—it looked like a pubic hair. Once the tub filled, there were hundreds of small hairs floating in the water, like someone had shaved in it. She immediately refused to get in. On top of that, only 3 of the 6 jets worked. That night, we were woken up at 5 a.m. by someone pacing in the room above us for an hour. Then came the barking from the dog next door. So now I knew why they provided earplugs. The mattress was also cheap and very uncomfortable. I contacted the office and explained everything—the dirty tub, barking dogs, loud upstairs neighbors, and poor-quality bed. After checking with the manager, Rob, they allowed me to cancel the next two nights, but refused to refund the first, even though we couldn’t use the tub we paid for. I was told Rob wouldn’t budge and that I should “take what I can get.” So thanks, Rob, for ruining what was supposed to be a memorable weekend. I wished i took more pictures but was only able to take 2.

The floors were filthy

Overall had a great stay at the lodge! It was a convenient place where we were able to walk to places such as the heavenly lodge, restaurants, and coffee shops. The lodge is also well lit at night so it’s easy to locate! The rooms were well organized but the only thing we had an issue with was the floors, anytime we walked around without shoes or only socks, our foot/socks would get very dirty. TV options were great as we had netflix and other streaming services! Nonetheless, we would definitely stay here again in the future!

Got the deluxe suite hoping to relax in the soaking tub but the jets were dirty. Bit of dirt or build up came out of the tub. So couldn't use the tub. This hotel doesn't have a front office. Communication was through text and they responded pretty quickly. The room itself was comfortable and spacious. I really like the electric fireplace. Besides the tub, the only thing that was uncomfortable was the noise. You can hear everything, they did some war plugs for us. This hotel is walking distance to all the restaurants, casinos and shopping areas.

Excellent location. Great Property. Cleaniness could be better but for the price, it was an outstanding stay!

My best friend and I stayed here for a concert and it was perfect! The room was super clean and the staff was so helpful and welcoming! We will definitely be back!

Loved staying at the Blue Jay Lodge! The self-check in was great and the room was very spacious. Only downsides were I wish they provided more towels in the room and the walls are very, very thin. The floors were also kind of dusty.

Thin walls and not super clean, beds are lumpy. Parking is hard with a big truck, and they want you to clean up after your stay.

Room was good. Very well located. Water pressure was bordering on being a slight trickle of water that could barely be used to clean off. Big detractor to what is otherwise a good lodge in a great location

Convenient keyless entry. Great location that is walkable to lots of food options. From our room on the first floor, you could hear the people in the room above us walking. It wasn’t bad enough to keep us up at night, but the lodge provided earplugs on the nightstands which was nice in case we wanted them. Overall was a good stay and would stay again!

This property is contactless check in/checkout which was very convenient for us. They had a number you could text for any concerns which was very useful. The room was clean and pretty modern. Very walkable to casinos and shops! The only issues we had were the wifi was not working and our room TV did not work, which were not a huge deal for us. I would stay here again!

The room was clean. The location is great —super convenient access to casinos/Heavenly district. The room heating was awful—set the digital temp and the thermostat maintained the temp /- 5 degrees. There was no way to simply set a comfortable temperature. We were constantly too cold or roasting throughout the night. Oh, and the air blows right on you if you’re on that side of the bed. Then there’s the excessively loud mini fridge. The bath towels were super thin. Pretty sure the shower curtain and the minimal decor were picked up on markdown at Ross. The bed was super soft, which is not good in my book. The pillows seemed to be twin sized on a queen bed. The Expedia listing says “no pets allowed” but the motel has a “guest book” and signage announcing that “pets are always welcome.” Thankfully, our room didn’t smell like a dog. I appreciate that this place is relatively cheap compared to most in the surrounding area; but I believe they could afford to maintain a little higher standard while still delivering good value.

Had a first floor king room that appeared completely renovated with a stylish, high-end, look and feel. Received a code for the door (no keys needed), with fast, contact-less check in. This was new to me, and I found it innovative and efficient. There is dining and shopping a short walk away. This was a great value, and I would gladly return.

The check in and check out process was seamless. They were quick to respond and address any questions we have.

We truly enjoyed our 2-night stay here with our fur baby! The property offers contactless check-in and check-out, and it’s in a great location—just a 5–10 minute walk to a private beach, restaurants, and more. I accidentally left my wedding band behind and immediately texted their customer service number. A live person responded right away, reached out to their housekeeping team, and quickly confirmed they had found it. Exceptional customer service! Highly recommend this place—we’ll definitely be coming back next year!

Excellent Property Management Team I had a wonderful experience at this property, thanks to their very helpful management team. It's a cold and snowy morning, my car stalled, the property staff came to my rescue and gave me a jump start. When I checked out, I accidentally left behind my AirPods. To my surprise, I received an email from the management team about the forgotten item as soon as I got home. I'm extremely grateful for the property team. I will definitely be returning to this property again in the future.

The room was nice and the hotel was conveniently located BUT there is NO SERVICE WHATSOEVER. You get a text a couple of hours before you check in with the code to your room and there's a sign by the lobby making it clear that you don't have to check in (translation: don't come in, we don't want to talk to you). There's a book in your room telling you where to go to get extra linens/supplies if you need them, how to put out your trash and - this absolutely floored me - a note that IF YOU WANT YOUR ROOM CLEANED YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY FIFTY FIVE DOLLARS PER CLEANING. What the heck is that? This isn't a Vrbo rental, it's a hotel - clean my room and give me some customer service!

I hated that there was no front desk person

This is a great spot next to 4 casino, the chair lift, shops, food, and beach. Met the directors wife checking in and she was super helpful getting us in a little early, offering helpful tips for getting around and even offered some local cookies - maybe the best I’ve had to boot. Our room was super clean and pretty new - looked recently remodeled. AC worked great, fridge and coffee makers stocked with coffee were perfect to start the day. Had a microwave and all the stuff you’d expect at any hotel. Thanks for a great stay! Room 27

The hotel was great, there's no front desk but the person who answer the emails and texts was very helpful. I definitely coming back on my next vacations and stay at blue jay lodge.

I have lupus and highly susceptible to disease. Toilet water leaking from upstairs unit through light fixture onto our floor. Not talking about a small drip. Contacted management Friday night asking for refund so we could stay elsewhere. It is Monday morning and I still have not gotten any response other than they are “waiting for management” to respond and thanks for my patience. Buyer beware.

Good spot. Great location, staff was super friendly, well-maintained. Lots of stuff close by. Can be noisy, not too bad for the location.

Kind and personable property manager. Very clean and thoughtfully arranged to make the most out of the room space. We loved that it is within walking distance to shopping and the casinos.
