Very friendly staff. Rooms were clean but a bit older style. Wish I had known about the train tracks near my room. Trains woke me up one night. Also, there is mixed messaging about the tattoo policy. Sauna says absolutely no tattoos but staff gave us bandages to cover them up.

Amazing, I was so happy with the staff and amenities. The public bath was wonderful and had a sauna and cold bath as well as plentiful shower facilities and the hot bath. Very happy with the snacks as well provided outside the bath.

Loved the property. It was very close to multiple train stations and attractions. Shibuya Crossing was down the street which made night activities very easy. The front desk lobby does know how to speak English, which made it very easy to ask questions. They allow bag storage before check-in and after check out and the hotel itself has many amenities for relaxing after a long day, however, they are not tattoo friendly.

Rooms were small, as expected, but the public bath made up for that! Really nice to have the option to shower and get ready there instead. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, and they have a variety of pillows to borrow at the front desk if you don’t like the ones in your room when you get there. Extra perks were great - late night ramen, free coffee, free yakult in the morning and free popsicles in the evening. Location is great! It’s about halfway between 2 metro stations, which added flexibility. Great shopping and restaurants within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again next time we’re in Tokyo!

Absolutely loved our stay. Good location. A bit off the beaten path on a quiet back street, which was a nice change from the busyness of Shibuya’s main streets, but still felt very safe. In hotel onsen was excellent. Clean, excellent toiletries provided and so relaxing, Free foods/drinks were a treat: coffee/tea all day, yogurt drink in am, ice cream/popsicles in afternoon/evening and ramen 9:30-11 pm; a real bonus, We loved the room setup. Yes,on the smal sidel, but had a practical, functional layout. We felt we could stay in it long-term, Staff friendly, even if many spoke minimal English, but the hotel is in Japan afterall. Room very quiet when windows closed, even though by a train track. Approx 7-10 minute walk to Shibuya and Meiji-Harajuku train stations, so is very convenient for getting around the city, I regretted not booking Dormy Inns for the rest of our trip in Japan! Will miss the Hershey ice cream bars! I can’t wait to come back to stay again!

Great Hotel in a perfect location! Very quiet and comfortable. Bonus was the Onsen / sauna facility ( just a shame you can’t use it before 3pm) Another bonus was the free Ramen soup in the evening. Overall an excellent stay!

Dormy Inn Shibuya was an excellent stay for our purposes. Close to Shibuya and Harajuku stations for connections, shopping and eating options. While some staff lacked knowledge of English, they were always extremely helpful. The hotel itself was in fine form, too. Rooms a bit small, but that's Japan for you. And facilities and cleaning services were great. Lovely onsen bathing facilities. Recommended!

My towel had brown stains on it, and the shower had lot's of hair on the floor and walls (It hadn't even been rinsed let alone cleaned). The staff were also strangely rude when we checked in and out. I was aware it was a small room when I booked it however for a similar sized room, our stay at the Sotetsu Fresa Inn was far more enjoyable.

Cons - Room was ridiculously small such that we couldn’t unpack or access our cases without lifting them into the bed. No storage areas other than a small hanging rail. The bed had just enough room to access it on the window side by squeezing along the narrow gap. The bathroom was just big enough to contain the toilet and shower cubicle. The “view” was of the train rattling past directly outside our window. The noise was fairly minimal and we used earplugs for sleeping. Pros - We didn’t need to use the room shower as we visited the lovely onsen in the evenings. This was the highlight of the hotel and a nice touch that they offered many complimentary toiletries and Yakult drinks, ice pops and ramen (untried). Luckily we only stayed 2 nights. I would suggest this hotel should only be considered for a short stay for a single or couple without a child. The rate was one of the highest I’ve paid for a 3 star hotel room of this standard.

Starting with the positives: this is a centrally located hotel that is walkable to many tourist destinations such as Harajuku, Cat street, Yoyogi park, Meiji shrine, etc. It also offers great complimentary perks such as popsicles, yogurt drinks, and late night ramen service. Beyond that, I don’t know if this is a hotel issue or an Expedia issue, but who in their right mind would consider the room we had suitable for 3 people. Yes i understand hotel rooms are generally smaller in Japan, and that was expected - but to purposely sell a slightly bigger double bed for 2 adults and a 6yr old child is delusional. I mean, it was booked under the criteria as inputted. We had a non-cleaning room which was fine, and the cleaning staff was actually phenomenal and quick with providing fresh towels and removing rubbish promptly, and always so pleasant. Which leads me to feel bad for rating the staff low - all because of the one younger gentleman who works the front desk who was probably the rudest person I’ve encountered on this trip. I felt compelled to ask if he was mad at me because his attitude was that absurd! He was beyond curt during check out, and was unbelievably bothered to hold our luggage for 2 hours. Upon our return to pick up our bags, he literally ripped the ticket from my hand and dumped our bags on the ground (one of which contained a laptop). What was already a cramped and average stay was truly spoiled by that bozo.

Business hotel tucked away in a little side street about 12 minutes walk from 2 train stations. Staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Helped with luggage transfers and also with getting a cab to Shibuya station so I could catch a bus to Haneda. Note: station is easily walkable but two suitcases made it hard. Very clean facility with an onsen. I had the breakfast package which was very convenient with nice continental and freshly prepared Japanese options (rice, omelette etc.) I think there’s parking onsite for those with a car. Lots of dining options and a couple of Konbinis close by.

Check-in/Check-out: Check in was on a kiosk that a front desk member helped me with and checkout was less than 2 minutes. They even called a taxi for us to go to the Tokyo train station. Room: The room was clean, new towels were given every day, and while it's small it was basically the perfect size to get ready, freshen up, or take a quick nap before going out somewhere. Staff: Excellent. No complaints. Helped us with any questions we had. Amenities: The hot spring/sauna area was very nice and relaxing and had everything you needed to chill out. The breakfast was awesome. Maybe it was because this was our first time in Japan, but I was very surprised how everything seemed slightly elevated from what I'm used to in the US. I would highly recommend paying for it. It got us up early to start our day and was always great quality. Location: This was in a great location. Right in between two train stations, and it was walking distance to so many different shops, bars, and places to eat. We got to do a lot of different things because we could easily walk or take a train. Overall/Value for money: If you are like us and this is your first time I would definitely recommend the Dormy. It was a reasonable price when we stayed (early to mid November) and was the perfect place to get ready or nap then walk to our next new thing. If you want a place where exploring is easy and the price won't break the bank I would recommend staying here a while.

Was a good affordable option for staying in Shibuya and was a stones throw from Harajuku too.. Slightly. Back off the main road, which didn't seem too safe to start with but actually it was fine. You can hear the trains but not loud enough to bother you. Just like a small gentle quiet drum. In the background every once in a while. Was no issue. Facilities are good and the washing machine and dryers easily accessable. Would stay again.

I have stayed in many Dormy Inn Hotels this was nearly the worst. Room was very small and nowhere to put luggage. Was too far from the station. Shibuya station is very difficult because of construction. Immediate area not nice and very few places to eat close to the hotel. The onsen was not up to usual Dormy Inn standards and breakfast although reasonable was not what we are used too at Dormy inn. Staff were very helpful. Overall after spending 4 night at this Hotel I would not recommend it

We came to the Dormy on a recommendation from a friend. We found the hotel pleasant and also busy with folks and families taking advantage of the numerous amenities, including access to laundry, public baths, drinks and nightly noodles and ice cream, each very appreciated. Overall, we were pleased with the location having not understood fully the logistics of the city as it is generally located a fair walking distance from the station and two or three different shopping and social areas. They both received our luggage shipped ahead from our previous hotel and kindly held it for us after check out so we could see more of the town before taking the train. The only downside was my error in not realizing the amenities might impact room size. I booked the only room style available for our dates, a double which proved to be too small for our circumstances (but might work for a married couple or a single). The hotel did look to see if we could make an adjustment however they were fully booked so we made due. A highlight of the stay was the complementary noodles served by the very cheerful chef. I also took advantage of the laundry and the public bath both which were busy but accessible. We will definitely look at the Dormy franchise again when in Japan next and perhaps try a larger room. Thank you!

We stayed here 6 nights in April. Our hotel room faced the train, but was impressively quiet. The train was muted and we heard no noise from the hall or other rooms. The room is small, but has everything you need. The hotel is between the heart of Shibuya and Harajuku which was nice, we found that we preferred to head towards Harajuku as it was calmer. It's about an 8-10 minute walk to either Shibuya or Harajuku station, so not the most convenient, but you have 2 options. There are plenty of Family Marts around, you just need to locate them. The breakfast was excellent. Service from everyone at the hotel was polite, friendly and very helpful. I definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Perfect spot to stay for a 17 hour layover in Tokyo, near Shibuya crossing. Clean, comfortable, quiet with all the amenities you need and wonderful onsen (hot mineral bath) perfect for relaxing before sleep. Short walk to Shibuya crissing and food and shops. Excellent breakfast included. Lovely staff.

I really enjoyed the hotel - but for westerners, especially Americans, the rooms are small - but comfortable. Good AC (we are here in June and it is HOT), loved the shower by the way - water pressure was great, very refreshing. Good Shibuya location, not fancy, but still very nice. Breakfast was really good. Also - I don’t know if they do this always, but there is free ice cream in the lobby/dining area for certain hours of the day, and free ramen 9-11 I believe as well.

This property was a short Uber ride to the Shibuya train station and Shibuya crossing. It was about a 15 minute walk which we did most of the time. Lots of food options and shops nearby. Staff was great. Breakfast was awesome and the free Ramen in the evening was a definite plus after a long day seeing the sights.
