This place is a dream. It’s one of those boutique hotels perched on a cliff with exceptional service, food, and hospitality. Having been to numerous establishments in Japan, one often encounters certain inflexibility in hotel management, service, or facilities from ryokans and hotels. But Hyakuna Garan is certainly anything but, and instead offers memorable touches that warrant a trip on its own despite its slightly offbeat location. The 24 hour rooftop baths, Okinawa focused kaiseki morning and night are just amazing. The expansive views, warm staff and quiet location make this hotel unique and special especially to couples.

My husband and I LOVED our stay here from Oct 18 to Oct 21 and it was the absolutely perfect start to our honeymoon. We were surprised to learn that our booking also included dinner each day (in addition to the breakfast!). This made our trip soo convenient so that we didn't have to worry about meals except for lunch (but this was easy and there are amazing local restaurants nearby). The check in staff will coordinate your meal time with you and you could always adjust the times by calling the front desk, just make sure to give them enough time to do so. The meals were delicious and the staff were always courteous to explain the menu. They also ask about any food allergies before your stay or at check in, so make sure to let them know. We always looked forward to each meal because they changed it up everyday! We booked the Executive Suite with the Ocean View and it was WORTH IT. The room has a balcony where we were able to see both the sunrise and sunset. Number one amenity to check out is the open air baths. There are six private rooms and fortunately we were able to see an available one for the two times we went. From there, you can catch the sunrise/sunset and it was BEAUTIFUL. Such a cool amenity to have at a hotel and I wish we went more than we did because this was a huge highlight of our trip. Absolutely fell in love with this place and we wish we stayed here for the entirety of our trip!

Every part of our stay at Hyakuna Garan was memorable. This is a place where thoughtfulness shows in every detail—from the serene design to the incredible staff who were consistently kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere was deeply relaxing, making it easy to disconnect and fully enjoy the experience. The food exceeded all expectations. It was much better than I anticipated from the online reviews. Every meal featured incredibly fresh ingredients and a well-balanced mix of Okinawan dishes. Dining here became one of the highlights of our stay. The open-air baths were easy to use, beautifully maintained, and added a special, calming rhythm to each day. If you’re considering Hyakuna Garan, don’t hesitate. Splurge on at least 1-2 nights—you won’t regret it.

Amazing place for relaxation and getting away! Five stars doesn’t do it justice, would give it ten stars! The meals were out of this world. Highly recommend the Hakuin suite.
