This is a lovely little property with well appointed suites, a great view of the sea and a lovely little sea view balconey. Nice gardens and a sea view patio with loungers and tables. There is a natural swimming pool in front of the motel that fills at high tide and is great for swimming. Would love to return.

Very comfortable overall. All cooking facilities were great. Bed, couch, shower were good. Did not like the parking. Down a narrow slope and have to enter a busy road to leave.

The likes... Room was airy, bright, cheerful and had a nice view (#106 unit on lower floor). Mostly quite a clean unit. Very nice location with a well manicured garden and outside amenities. The dislikes... Some of the kitchen utensils and dishes were clearly dirty. Only a used sponge was provided. Given the unknown history of a used sponge, this was not used. A new sponge was requested and provided. Suggest to property manager that all dishes/utensils should be very clean and a new sponge should be provided. The TV has zero premium channels provided...at $233 (Canadian) per night I feel that premium channels should be provided. Quite a few of the TV channels had a "lock" on them with no possibility of watching because they required a PIN number. I alerted management but they had no idea about this PIN or how to unlock these channels. Shampoo and soap packets are laughable and a better approach to soap and shampoo hygiene needs to be devised by management. The super miniature bar of soap provided in each packet is like trying to wash yourself with a potato chip. The quantity of shampoo in a packet is way too small. Parking slot for #106 was a serious challenge due to extremely narrow entry and exit.

The room was immaculate. Not a hair, not a speck of dust. Just amazing. Beautiful bedding. Stunning views. Cpmpletely quiet at night. Parking at the back was pretty tight but doable. Def will stay there again.

The room was immaculate and I am very fussy! The grounds are gorgeous with a big beautiful decks to relax on and watch the ocean. Staff are very pleasant and easy to interact with. A great place!

I like the beach front location of this property. There is no AC in the rooms, which makes it inconvenient during hot summer days. The fan was not working initially and they had to replace it. Carpet was very dirty. Paint peeling off. No amenities like EV charging, or restaurant and food service etc, especially for a property at this price.

Room is fully equipped with everything you need. We have stayed here before and that is why we came back. Nice big suite, full kitchen, big balcony with table and chairs to enjoy your meals at (weather permitting), clean! We enjoy watching the ocean, birds and an occasional seal. Full private access to the beach. 10/10 for us.

I have given my best rating to this small hotel/motel for several reasons. While somewhat dated (kind of like visiting your aunt’s home who was cool in the 80’s) - it is immaculately clean and well cared for. The beach is accessible and lovely shared beachside decks are available for relaxing. Our unit/room (103) Denman Suite (the rooms are named for islands in the nearby archipelago…..) was comfortable with a spacious private balcony overlooking the beach. Full kitchen (separate room). Everything worked (large screen TV with lots of available cable channels). It’s Retro/Vintage/somewhat dated BUT a great value and cleaner than many high end hotels I haves stayed at. It has charm - bed was comfortable (extra pillows) - we are here ‘off season’ so AC was not a concern but I would say - the beach breeze and provided standing fan would be adequate for hot days. Parking was free and in front of the unit. I would not hesitate to book here again.

This cute little motel was freshly painted with new flooring in kitchen & bath, new appliances and kitchen cupboards. The effect was unfortunately spoiled entirely by the filthy berber carpet in the bedroom/seating area. The overall effect was dingy and depressing. We were relieved to have brought our slippers so we didn’t have to put our bare feet on the carpet. I took photos but I don’t see that there’s anywhere to upload them here.

A lovely apartment with amazing views of the sea. Clean and mostly comfortable though the sofa wasnt conducive for sitting on for more than an hour or so and the bed creaked a bit but was comfy. A little road noise but quiet over night.2 great restaurants within 200 mts, the schnitzel house opposite and deez's bar both great food.

Wonderful experience. Quiet, clean, and the view was spectacular. Could probably use some new mattresses, the bed was a little worn out, soft and squeaky, but slept okay. Nicely renovated. No a/c but we went on a cool weekend and the breeze was nice.

Room was spacious with a gorgeous view onto garden and the ocean. Bed said queen but it was only a double and soooo hard. Comfy bed is a must and it just didn’t deliver on that one. Reasonable price and great location. I can live with the tired decor but please upgrade the bed!

The room was larger than expected, the kitchenette was extremely useful and it beautiful and quiet. Only problem was the TV. The remote did not work. But we didn't go there for the TV.

On arrival there was a dispute about the price. I was charged CAD 226 when in fact I should have been charged CAD185.27…. As per the paperwork from Hotels.com and the invoice that I was shown by Reception. You can imagine the upset this caused when he would not budge on the price… a long flight from Australia, a long way to travel to Qualicum Beach on day two of our holiday…. to be confronted with a problem NOT of my making but a proprietor who would not budge and was totally misleading in the way he read the invoice. To the room, that was extremely clean, tidy and comfortable for our one night stay. It also had amazing views across the water and is as represented on the website. It was a gorgeous little cottage and extremely suitable for our requirements. Would I stay here again… no… because of the unfortunate introduction to the property and the fact that I had a full on argument on arrival.

We did the booking and reached the place on Saturday by 3pm. The reception doors were locked and no one was there. We kept ringing the bell and then started calling the front desk number. After few attempts someone picked up the number and he said even if I confirmed booking they can not give us room as he doesn’t work on Saturday. He asked me to look for other nearby places. This is pretty annoying when you are driving for almost 3 hours to reach the place. Expedia should not be putting such places to customers.

I had 3 people come to ask me how to check in! He doesn’t answer the door until you ring the bell about 6 times. Very annoying. The other people weren’t happy either. This happens every time we stay there. We always check in shortly after 3 so the office should be open. Other than that the place is nice.

Very nice and well maintained place with friendly owners. Close to a busy road but the room is reasonably quiet with street side windows closed. Excellent view of ocean. Would stay again, most every accommodation in Qualicum Beach is along same road. Very nice room.

when i got there I was worried about noise since the hotel is right on the road. but the kitchen and bathroom are between the bedroom and the road and there is a door between them that cuts the noise. and out back is a balcony overlooking the ocean.

A lovely apartment with amazing views of the sea. Clean and mostly comfortable though the sofa wasnt conducive for sitting on for more than an hour or so and the bed creaked a bit but was comfy. A little road noise but quiet over night.2 great restaurants within 200 mts, the schnitzel house opposite and deez's bar both great food.

The best part is we were able to watch the northern lights from the comfort of the backyard!! Sparkling clean room with a beautiful beach view. Kitchen was very well equipped, internet was perfect for 2 people working remotely. The little garden was in pristine condition, and we enjoyed the quick access to the beach. Several great restaurants nearby.

Very well kept. Clean modern inside looks like it was just done. Quaint little hotel. Nice courtyard with access to beach walking distance to many restaurants, but if you like to cook each room has a fully stocked kitchen. Highly recommended it. Would and will stay there a gain. We were there for a 2 nights next time a much longer stay.

We've stayed here before and will stay again. Good location. Very nice place, right on the beach. Walkable to restaurants...or, you have a full kitchen to use. What more do you need?

Buena Vista by the sea is right on the beach which is very hard to find. I enjoyed walking along the ocean at low tide. there is a great restaurant just a two minute walk down the road. I'll be back again.

Buena Vista is truly a beautiful place to stay, everything about it, decor, size of room, amenities in the kitchen & bathroom, patio area & the view. The staff were really helpful. The laundry area excellent, we have been traveling around Vancouver island for 2 weeks & this is by far the best accommodation through Hotels.com & not the most expensive.
