Needs repairs to dock are needed. Unsafe rotten wood. Property very unkempt. Disappointed to see the state of the exterior of the property. Inside our room was great. Very clean. Updated decor. Bed very old and uncomfortable. Need new beds.

We paid a premium price for this room to have a jacuzzi. It, along with the shower were unusable due to dirty water. We tried to contract the staff to let them know, but everything was locked up tight at 720 pm. This ruined an already dreadful day.

Newly renovated, the stuff is pretty helpful. But 1, boat rental costs additional, not included. 2, The oars of the boat is full of splinters

The property is in a nice location, the staff were nice , however property needs lots and lots of improvements for the Canadian living standard . Washrooms , bath tub, bedding, linen need more cleaning. There are mouse inside the rooms, could not keep food outside on counter top and on the table. They ware making noise overnight and kids were scared. No sleep at all . We have power outage few times .Foul smell. Floors were dirty , oven was unusable , mouse poop in the toaster oven and hot water jug. Water was yellow and very low flowing, could not shower at all. Canadian consumers board and lake property business authorities should inspect this property. The price for staying was too high but was not worth of any money. Very disappointing. They need proper management and immediate improvement to run the business.

The tap water comes from Oxtongue Lake and is yellow. Bottled water is a must. Love the lakeside beach feet from the suite.

This motel has a great location because its just 4 min drive from Algonquin Park. The water is not potable. It comes from the lake. They filter it. They offer 2 half litter bottles per person if you stay for 2 nights. It is prohibited by law to use the kind of fireplaces that they have in their rooms because last year one exploded at another motel, in the area. I was told these by one of the employees. We were in a king room with jacuzzi. The room and linen were clean. The jacuzzi was not washed properly and when I asked for it to be rewashed, one of the employees was really nice to help with that. He thought that there were stains from the water and that they reaper no matter how much they wash it. However, after he rewashed it, no stains reapered. He used some detergent to wash it, entered the tub in his sleepers that he used outside, too and didn't rinse it in the end. So, if you want to use the tub, wash it and rinse it yourself, just to be sure it's clean. The washroom was clean but the doors of the shower not really. The hallway towards the room was clean. The parking lot, in front of the rooms is full of cigarette butts, same with the beach. There are beoken things and garbage everywhere. I can say that this is a two way fault, not enough personal for cleaning, no cigarette trays available and people who leave this mess. There is lots of mess at the staff entrance. The decks are not safe to walk on. On one of them nails are popping up, the other one looks broken.

This is a great spot especially being right on the lake. But the downfall here is property is so unkept everything is falling apart and no curb appeal which is sad they should take some pointers from the resort that is across the lake from them. Also should have free firewood for guests to use cause nothing better then enjoying a fire at night on the beach. Speaking of the beach it could use some TLC along with the broken Muskoka chairs. This place could be a honey hole if only the owners took some proud into the resort.

Exterior: The parking lot could use some maintenance. While this Inn is dated, there seems to be ongoing work, fixing/replacing old wood boards. Loved the bbq access and fire pits! Lots of muskoka chairs & loungers. Interior: The rooms were very nice, clean, comfortable with all the expected sundries; soap, shampoo, etc. Heating or A/C. Since it is on a sandy beach it would have been nice to have a broom to keep the unit floors less messy. Fishing was great from this property, pike and small mouth bass were caught from the doc area. Enjoyed this property, staff were friendly and helpful ! Would recommend.

Upon arrival, there was vomit in the hallway and the sheets were stained. Couldn't find anyone to give us fresh sheets. They also had hair on them, like the bed wasn't changed after the previous client. The air stank of febreeze or some kind of cleaning agent but we couldn't air out the room because there were no screens in the windows. There was no bottled water or coffee machine, zero amenities other than tiny bottles of shampoo and conditioner.There was black mold around the window frames which was probably adding to the terrible air inside the unit. The whole Inn was run down and dilapidated and we were refused a refund by both Expedia and the Inn. DO NOT STAY HERE!! Upon reading other reviews of this establishment we discovered other people had similar, if not more horrifying reviews. We could not stay for the second night that we booked and had to go home, my husband was angry and I was in tears. This place is 100% not as advertised and I will be reporting them to both the Better Business Bureau and the Health Department. Beyond unacceptable!!!!

Nice clean room with a lake view

Die Unterkunft liegt fantastisch direkt am Oxtongue Lake und vor dem Westgate des Algonquin Parks, auch die Ausstattung mit Grillplätzen und Booten ist sehr gut. Es ist aber erschreckend, wie man die Unterkunft in den Jahren heruntergewirtschaftet hat (wir waren zum dritten Mal hier!). Unsere Wohnungseinrichtung war alt, aber noch viel schlimmer, total verdreckt. Der Herd und der Backofen war voll von Resten vieler Vormieter, das Bad war gruselig und der Teppichboden total versifft. Wir sind daher früher abgereist und werden hier nicht wiederkommen.

Motel is in very poor condition despite renovations. Water coming out of taps were brown. Need to clean the facility better. Grassy area in front of room was unkept, with goose crap all over and on the beach. Wifi was slow and not working in the evening when people were on.

It's such a beautiful spot for a getaway! The rooms are clean and comfortable and the views are gorgeous. It was our second time staying and we will be back again.

The cabins inside were fairly clean. The sheets were stained. The outside needs some serious TLC, there is trash and chairs you could not use and the wood is rotting. Algonquin park was absolutely beautiful.

Staff was good. Water had a slight smell of copper but no yellow water even though the staff warned of yellow water , water comes from the lake , flies and insects are a problem both inside the room and outside, there should be mosquito coils for inside and outside the room for a comfortable stay, unfortunately the bedsheets had stains, one of them had a blood stain, blankets, towels and curtains all had stains and marks . Fresh unstained sheets and curtains are a requirement in today's climate. Apart from these issues, location was amazing, fireworks were awesome and enjoyed our stay.

TV not working, fruit flies everywhere, dead spiders on the walls, floors not swept, no ice available here ... and on the other hand the two staff were wonderful and we felt bad for them, being on the lake was fantastic, and the Beetle Lake Trail just across the street was amazing with colour!

The room was clean. However no tv ( was not working) no coffee maker, no washcloths, no glasses not even plastic disposable.

Cute location, lovely friendly front desk staff. Things were just a bit more run down than we had hoped. The bed in particular was soggy and creaky — like it was very old.

Love the lakeside view room and it is so cozy! The view on the back of the inn is fantastic, you should really check it out!

The rooms have recently been updated which is nice however the outdoor seating/chairs are very old and warn. The bed is a bit "springy" but the rooms were very clean. The location was convenient to start off the rest of our vacation in algonquin park.

This really isn’t a hotel. There is no working restaurant, breakfast is said to be ‘all day’ but we had to wake them up at 09.00. Anything after that would be from a very limited breakfast menu brought in from a nearby cafe and it shut at 19,00. Reception was from 08.30 to 20.00 in theory but mostly was unmanned. The was no room cleaning service, no bar. The internet connection worked occasionally but mostly not at all. The web joining instructions were wrong. The photos didn’t show the noisy main road adjacent to the site. The door from the veranda was falling apart. The whole room was tatty. Two paper cups were supplied for our two night stay. One pod of coffee per person per day. The paper cups fell apart. I have stayed in literally hundreds of hotels all over the world, some in very much ‘third world’ places and I haven’t yet had one that was as bad value for money as this one.

Very nice place! The room was HUGE, with a little kitchen (fully equipped) and clean. We had a nice view on the lake.

Waterfront is beautiful, room was comfy and clean...TV didn't work properly second day and there was no one available to rectify issue

We loved the view from our room. The room was clean and quite modern. The room came with a fridge, microwave and kettle. It would have benefited from having coffee and tea with cups and glasses.

I would have rated the property a 5 star all around however, the water in the rooms is not drinkable as it has a yellow tinge to it. I’m guessing it is from the river where they draw the water. Also, the floors and walls are not very soundproof. I was on a lower floor and could hear kids running in the unit above me. I addition, I could hear screaming and a child crying at night.

The room is not clean, have to spent lots of efforts to deal with bugs and mosquitoes in the room. Noise from upstairs is very annoying. Internet is extremely slow which is useless, have to connect LTE to browse internet

My sister who beat cancer and I drove 4 hours to come here because we were hiking in algonquin park to do the 30 k hiking challenge to support cancer research only to find out staff leave at 5pm so I was charged 200 dollars for a place I wasnt able to check into

No one was in office to check in .Check in was at 3 didn’t get room until 5 .The guy at the front desk told me 3 to many times to sit down.The property was very rundown.The water was nasty and smells like fish so we couldn’t take showers.

Horrible experience. Hotel was closed. Money was taken. Couldn’t get a hold of anyone. Contact kept hanging up phone. Had to make alternate arrangements at midnight. I do not recommend this place at least not at off season.

Location was excellent. Front deskkai wascopperative and very helpful and pleasant. Stay was very good!

All I have to say is that the staff was amazing. They truly were attentive and helpful. The place was cozy, peaceful and clean. The location is great and super convenient for the plans we had during our trip. Only I gave three stars on the overall experience because our trip was especially to relax and break free from the routine. One of the main reasons I chose the room we did was because they advertised the private Hot Tub. When we got there the jets did not work at all and when we filled the water some weird stuff came out of there and it was weird. I don’t like deception and I appreciate when my time and money is respected. If you advertise something please ensure you deliver. To the owner: your hot tub requires maintenance. People expect this type of thing to be available during vacation you particularly charge more for that room based on that function so you must ensure the client gets what is expected otherwise I equal that to deceptive practices. I even read another review with the same issue so I hoped you would have addressed that long before I got there. Also, when you use the microwave it shuts off. Fix that pls. Moreover, it’s not that expensive to add ceramic or reusable cups and plates. Other places have it and with cheaper prices. I would definitely visit the place again. I find value in the whole experience including my plans , and the people who actually serve the customers, etc. That makes a great difference. But I wouldn’t recommend it for now.

It was a pleasant stay and staff was very helpful and friendly specially the lady at the reception desk. Cleanliness should be taken care of and check if all the appliances are working. We enjoyed kayaking.

Many broken fittings in the room: the tap on the sink, the toilet roll holder, window opener. Beds were uncomfortable. Cigarette burns in the blankets. Oh, and there is no staff in the evening to check you in. If you check in after 10pm, they will charge you an extra fee. Avoid.

Room was amazing, view was beautiful, Mike and Kai were wonderful, great time for relaxation and serenity in nature!

This was a great place to stay if you want to get an early start in Algonquin, it’s less than a ten minute drive to the West Gate. The room was simple, clean and comfortable with a mini fridge and microwave. Also, the heating works great for when it gets chilly at night.

Access to many hiking trails literally across the road

When I booked online, the online company took a bit longer to send the information that I had booked a room. The room was very cold when we got in but because the online information didn't send in time the receptionist didnt have the heat on before we arrived.

Website advises that restaurant is open for dinner 6 -8pm. Upon check in we were advised that restaurant was only open for breakfast. Kettle in room but no coffee or tea and no glasses for beverages. We drove to Huntsville both evenings for dinner as no options at the property which is not convenient. Room was clean and staff were courteous!

I saw a lot of negative reviews and so I came prepared with my own water, bedding, etc. expecting a dirty room and disarrayed facility. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the facility and ost of the amenities I brought thinking what was onsite would be missing or insufficient were not needed. The water does seem to have some iron in it. Not that a little iron will hurt you but I did use the water I brought due to taste for coffee, etc. in the morning. The restaurant food is high priced, but there is a fridge and microwave in the room, alongside a communal and covered bbq area for cooking onsite. Also, there are numerous other restaurant options within a short drive. The bedding was clean and comfortable, the room was clean. The service was friendly and helpful. It is true there is some decking that could use replacing, but I did not think a few loose boards took away from the beautiful view and bonus of direct lake/beach access. I was overjoyed with the private screened in porch off attached to our room, this feature ensured we could relax with a view regardless of weather or evening mosquitos. I found our visit to be relaxing, positive, and you can't beat the location for Algonquin day tripping. We will definitely be back!

Our accomodation was not very clean. Breakfast you van have after 8.30 hour, that's to late. Dinner looks like Mc Donald food. Didn't know much about activities in the area

The room had a great view of the water.One of the best breakfasts i have ever had.

Could have rated higher if breakfast was served sooner than 8:30. There was cardboard from a 6-pack beer case outside our door facing the lake. There was no electric plug for the coffee maker on the table, therefore, had to plug in behind the bedside table. Everything else great. Would return.
