Very pleasant stay. 8pm check-in went smoothly; parking garage one block away (19 euros for 24 hours). (Train station was also 1 block away.) Room was clean and comfortable. Very good bacalhua restaurant was less than a block away for our dinner after late arrival. Included breakfast was very good. They stored our bags after checkout as we toured the Old Town. Service was friendly and professional throughout. Would stay here again.

Great location, staff super helpful, breakfast very nice. Walking distance to lots of cafes, restaurants and the river. The roof top bar was nice. The only challenge was the parking which is 4 spaces that are sometimes used by the staff so if you have a car be prepared to use the multi storey car park which is only 5 mins round the corner and 20.00 Euro for 24 hours

Wonderful, especially for the price! Super clean, even in the grout and the corners! Nice staff. Close to restaurants and right around the corner from the riverfront. Easy walkable compared to other areas and I had a medical boot on my foot. Breakfast Buffet was really good too

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in and I've stayed in hundreds. I’m not talking about luxury things like spas etc. It’s perfect in every way regarding cleanliness and comfort. The beds, linens, and pillows are top of the line. All better than high end chain hotels. Location is right in the old town. I could keep raving but will just end with very highly recommended.

We spent 2 nights at Hotel Mondego and overall had a really good time. The rooms are HUGE, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, I’ve never experienced such a big bed in Europe before. It was such a treat! The only issue we ran into was with the showers. Ours leaked water all over the bathroom floor, so we had to line up towels just to keep the water from spreading. Our family members in another room had the same problem, except their shower was actually missing an entire panel. Thankfully, the housekeeping staff was lovely. When I asked for extra towels, the housekeeper not only brought more but also offered to take out the trash, which was so thoughtful. On our second night, the hotel happened to be celebrating their 4th anniversary, and they surprised us with cake when we returned in the evening, a really sweet touch. Breakfast had a very nice variety. I’d recommend enjoying it if it’s included with your room. If not, the café right across the street is a fantastic option with great service and a more typical Portuguese breakfast.

The hotel has a great location, close to important historical sites and good restaurants. The room is very comfortable, with a cozy bed and pillows, a well-equipped bathroom with a strong shower, a good breakfast, and friendly staff. The only thing I didn’t like is that during the winter months, the air conditioning doesn’t work, and it feels too warm to sleep since the window only opens a small portion, and you can hear all the noise from the street.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location. The walk-in shower was lovely. The bed was comfortable. The air-conditioning worked well. The room was a good size. It would be good to have more hangers in the wardrobe. There wasn't a safe in the room. The breakfast was nice. The rooftop bar was great and a really nice place for us all to meet for drinks before we went out for dinner. I would definitely stay here again for the price we paid.

We enjoyed our stay, and the staff was wonderful. The bathroom left a bit to be desired. There was no towel rack/hook to hang out towels, and the shower "door" is a partial wall that allows copious amounts of water out and onto the bathroom floor. A safety bar/handle/rail to hold while stepping into the tub was lacking. The room itself was nice, and the bed was comfortable. The location is great. A little attention to safety details in the bathroom would take this place to the next level

Hotel is super near the train station so that makes it convenient for train travellers. It’s also very walkable to the old town where there’re lots of dining options. The rooms are really big and there was a king sized bed in our room which is quite rare in Europe. The only gripe we had was that the water from the shower (which was in the bathtub) splashes out quite a bit onto the bathroom floor, and the wet bathroom floor gets really slippery once wet. The hotel breakfast offers a good selection of hot and cold food, and 2 big corporate Nespresso machines. The hotel staff are competent and conversant in English. Overall a very good hotel!

Check in easy. However, "heat" had already been turned on. There was no air conditioning. The room was extremely hot. The window would open some, but being on the first floor the noise was horrible. The hotel is located on a major road and by the train station. They did find a fan for us for the 2nd night to make it tolerable. Breakfast was 15 euro per person. The coffee machine was just that, a machine. It stopped working after getting one cup of coffee (we needed two) There was a selection of breakfast items but not worth the 15 euro. They do not offer any free coffee (which I think is a basic amenity).

All of the staff at Hotel Mondego - from the front desk, to the kitchen, to the room service and the rooftop bar — were exceptional. They truly made us feel welcomed and attended too throughout our stay! They have the best staff. Helpful, polite, kind, interactive. They booked a Fado show for us. Always cheerful and they always, in every situation, went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Everyone spoke English. I cannot say enough about this hotel. Close to everything. Everything in walking distance. Super clean and comfy cozy. You will not be disappointed!!

We enjoyed our stay here. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and booked a last minute reservation for us at a fantastic restaurant. Gustavo at the lovely rooftop bar was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast buffet was good. It was walkable to the university area we wanted to explore.

The staff are very attentive to our needs and the location of the hotel is extremely convenient just next to the station. They have quality breakfast, freshly squeezed juices and espresso coffee machine to make coffee. Selection of food may not be a lot compared to those big name hotels, however their selection is top quality.
