The staff was super friendly and helpful. They made our stay very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. It is fairly simple and the rooms are basic but it is comfortable, clean and economical. The bed was comfortable. We parked in the hotel's garage, which was very convenient, for a €25 fee. The front desk staff made me a cup of tea. We will definitely stay there avain when we overnight in Barcelona.

Great location for walking to several of the desirable points of interest. Many dining options nearby. On a busy street, so safe to walk at night. Regarding the room, bathroom facilities were excellent and A/C worked well. Hot water was immediately available. However, bed and pillows could be more comfortable; that's my only negative.

This is a decent spot for anyone looking to stay for the week of Primavera Sound. The Ciutat venues, especially Apolo, are <20min walking distance. You can get to Parc Del Forum and the beautiful neighborhood of Poblenou easily from the Rocafort and Espanya stops — also nice if you’re coming for Sōnar. The staff were very nice. There’s fresh water and snacks at the reception desk for when you’re coming back from a long night out. There’s a nice bread and coffee shop next door and lots of restaurants surrounding the hotel.

The hotel was clean and very well connected to public transportation. The room was equipped with everything you need. You also got a glass of sparkling wine as welcome drink for free. All the staff were very friendly but some of them were not the most attentive. The breakfast buffet was small. It was okay, but except for the sweets, the same thing every day. For the duration of a few days we could kind of live with it.

The hotel was a really nice part of our Barcelona visit. Our only gripe was the first couple days without a fully functional AC. But the hotel was clean and located in a nice place close to public transport. The daily breakfast was fresh and tasty - recommend to include it in your booking. The luggage hold was also nice. And huge shout-out to the helpful front desk staff who did anything from microwave our leftovers to attempt to fix the AC. Would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to visit!

We started and ended a 5 week vacation at Hotel Lugano. The location is excellent because its an easy and inexpensive bus ride from the airport to Plaza Espan̈a, then a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Its between the airport and La Sagrada, an easy train ride from the Plaza. There's a pedestrian road a block away where people walk, chat with friends and have a gelato. The staff look and behave professionally. Be sure to get your complementary glass of chanpagne or wine!! The rooms are super clean and of normal size...but the mattresses need replacing soon. The breakfast buffet has cooked egg, meat & vegetable, cresants, breads & donuts, yogurt, granola, fruits & nuts, and a great coffee machine. We had a wonderful experience there thanks to the staff, especially Miguel and Luis.

The location is great as the area feels safe and has many residents nearby and good restaurants within walking distance as well. The front desk staff was fantastic (I wish I could recall his name) but he guided us to a supermarket for distilled water needed for my CPAP (very necessary). The only misgiving is that I purposefully booked here due to the laundry facilities on site due to a cruise after several days in Barcelona. That is not quite true, they do indeed do laundry but it is not a laundromat or self serve; instead it is a separate third party service but again, the front desk saved the day by pointing to a laundromat just 2 blocks away! Overall, we were thrilled and will be back when we next visit Barcelona.

This immaculate, centrally located, modern hotel lies between a wide assortment of sidewalk cafes, tapas bars, convenience stores, a bakery, ATMs, full-service restaurants and more. Every evening, local families, couples and others walk by enjoying the atmosphere and more. A famous square is only 3 blocks away where we enjoyed being a part of a massive celebration culminating in an hour long continous fireworks display at 10pm. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful. The breakfast buffet was typical European, featuring everything you would expect, fresh, extensive, appealing, clean and wonderful. We have stayed here before and certainly will again. Also, excellent Internet and a large flat screen with cast capabilities.

I spent 8 nights at Hotel Lugano. I found the hotel to be very clean and well maintained. I had a single room. It was small but plenty big enough for one traveller. They had recently changed the mattresses so that was perfect for a good sleep. The continental breakfast was very good-great selection. The staff were very accommodating and wanted to help in any way they could. If it was a jug of hot water and some milk so that I could make a cup of tea in my room or what subway line I needed to take the metro to Sagrada Familia or taking me across the street to flag down a cab that was heading to the harbour area they were more than willing to help. They were also very knowledgeable about their city and willing to make suggestions of things to be seen. The hotel was in a great location. Away from the heaviest tourist areas but with two metro stations close by so it was easy to access any point in the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Clean, well maintained hotel with helpful staff fluent in English. Room and bathroom were spacious although the bed was a bit soft. Being able to open the window to allow the sounds of the city filter in was a plus. No issues with wifi. Location is unbeatable. It is a 5 minute walk to multiple different metro stations and I found myself in many areas of Barcelona within 15-30 minutes. Direct bus to the beach stops in front of the hotel. Better yet, easily walk to Montjuic, the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, and Placa Espanya. I highly recommend this hotel and a Hola Barcelona travel pass. It's all you need!

The front desk staff, breakfast room staff, and cleaning staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room and bed were very comfortable. Room was clean. We had some mechanical issues with AC and TV, but they took care of them. The only real negative was noise in hallway with doors slamming and noise from adjoining rooms.

Hotel was really nice, staff were lovely and helpful, however you can hear everything from other rooms which didn’t really bother us but the safe was broken which wasn’t resolved and made us worry about belongings. Apart from that the hotel was great and fair priced… I would recommend.

Spannend: Wenn nicht alle zwei Minuten ein Erdbeben Barcelona erschüttert, dann ist es vermutlich die Metrolinie 1, die sogar im 6. Stock und auf der „Rückseite“ des Hotels zu spüren ist. Gut, dass sie von Mitternacht bis 6 Uhr morgens Pause macht. Die Lage ist fußläufig zur Plaça d'Espanya, der Service ist kompetent und die hauseigene Garage hilfreich. Die „Einzelzimmer“ sind so wie in den 80er Jahren (ebenso wie Ein Föhn wäre hilfreich gewesen und ein „Duschvorhang“ entspricht nicht mehr so ganz den „hygienischen Anforderungen“ im Jahr 2024.

The hotel was very clean, rooms were large, the breakfast was good enough and employees were generally very polite. The only bad thing I can say beds and pillows actually do not suit this type of hotel. It's the kind of bed you might come across on a trip where you'll stay in a hostel with your backpack. I wish they would change this.

Great location with a small walking distance to the metro to visit the main attractions. Rooms were very clean and were made up every day. Staff were attentive and friendly. The shower wasn't perfect, the water didn't come out powerfully. We felt that it was quite noisy too, could feel the vibrations of the metro every few minutes underneath and always hearing doors banging etc.

Good hotel for the price. Comfortable, friendly staff, good breakfast and for being on a busy street, there was very little traffic noise. However, this is a no frills hotel room. They could add some decor, better shampoo/soap, an iron and ironing board and a coffee maker and this place would get a higher rating.

What impressed me most was the treatment and attention of the employees. Friendly, efficient, competent. Although they were all very helpful, one in particular was truly extraordinary, Avellaneda was a problem-solving machine. Highly recommended hotel.

Nice stayedstaff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome once we arrived at eye hotel. The first day Sandra and her colleague did an amazing job helping us settle and providing guidance where to go to eat. I must say, the Pulpería that was recommended was excellent. The menu on the breakfast was excellent, you don't have to wait to verify your room number, you walk in and serve yourself, then the person would come to your table and ask for the information. The selection of the food was fresh and good, I wanted to try everything they had. On our second day Dinky helped us do a late check out, also recommended another restaurant for tapas which was excellent!!! We are happy with our stay, I would definitely stay again and totally recommend the hotel.

The menu on the breakfast was excellent, you don't have to wait to verify your room number, you walk in and serve yourself, then the person would come to your table and ask for the information. The selection of the food was fresh and good, I wanted to try everything they had. On our second day Dinky helped us do a late check out, also recommended another restaurant for tapas which was excellent!!! We are happy with our stay, I would definitely stay again and totally recommend the hotel.

The staff was great, very helpful and friendly. The receptionist Dinkee was especially good, giving recommendations and directions, and she was very pleasant to deal with. The hotel is conveniently located, clean, had good breakfast, and i would stay there again.

Our stay at Hotel Lugano was amazing. Dinky, Luis, Miguel and Sandra were super welcoming and provided all kinds of information about buses, trams, subways, restaurants, shopping, tours... On our last night they found my wife and I at a restaurant close by the hotel and told us to come back to the hotel and they had a good bye glass of cava and a little farewell party for us. The room was perfect for us, we spent most of the time out and about in Barcelona so we only slept in the room. Perfect. The staff are incredible. We stayed 9 nights at Hotel Lugano.

The location was great! The front desk people , morning & night were all kind & willing to help on anything you asked. Thanks to Manuel, Luis & Javier. Our breakfast was always wonderful, a lot of breakfast choices. Thanks to Goldie who always was so pleasant, nice and speaks English. She was awesome! I recommend anyone to stay here - We give it a 5 stars! 👍😄

This immaculate, centrally located, modern hotel lies between a wide assortment of sidewalk cafes, tapas bars, convenience stores, a bakery, ATMs, full-service restaurants and more. Every evening, local families, couples and others walk by enjoying the atmosphere and more. A famous square is only 3 blocks away where we enjoyed being a part of a massive celebration culminating in an hour long continous fireworks display at 10pm. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful. The breakfast buffet was typical European, featuring everything you would expect, fresh, extensive, appealing, clean and wonderful. We have stayed here before and certainly will again. Also, excellent Internet and a large flat screen with cast capabilities.

Nous avons été très bien accueilli et avons eu un très bon service de la part de la réception à notre arrivée et tout au long de notre séjour. En revanche, nous sommes beaucoup moins satisfait du petit déjeuner ! Nous sommes descendu pour le prendre vers 10h15 (il se termine à 11h), et le buffet était pratiquement vide. Au lieu de le recharger la seule personne présente débarrassait les tables des clients précédents. Nous n'avons pas mangé grand chose à part quelques oeufs brouillés et des fruits frais (plus de viennoiseries, de jus de fruits, de bacon ou charcuterie, etc....). On nous a expliqué à la réception au moment du départ que le personnel était réduit mais ceci n'est en l'occurence pas notre prôblème. Pour ces raisons je ne reviendrais pas dans cette établissement.

This was my second stay at Hotel Lugano. My first visit was very good, which is why I returned—but sadly, this time the experience left a lot to be desired. I booked the same type of room as before, but as a single occupant I was given a very small single bed, which was uncomfortable and not what I expected. The air conditioning kept switching off and, despite calling room service multiple times, I was repeatedly told to "close the window"—even though the window was already shut. Eventually, maintenance discovered that the seal around the window had come loose, which was triggering the AC to turn off. This should’ve been picked up earlier. On the plus side, the room was clean and when I requested an iron and ironing board, it arrived quickly. However, the ironing board was unusable as it had a large tear in the surface. The biggest issue was breakfast. As a vegetarian, options were extremely limited—mostly just pastries, which made it feel like eating dessert every morning. Even worse, I found ants crawling on the croissants, and my colleague discovered bugs on the cheese and meats. We reported this to reception and were told it would be addressed, but it certainly put us off eating there again. While the hotel’s location is excellent, the overall experience this time around was disappointing. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

The location is easily accessible from the airport via bus to Plaça d'Espanya, and it is also easily accessible to Sants train station via metro Line 3 (recommend Poble Sec stop). The room i was given was bigger than i booked but was a reward for being there a 3rd Christmas in a row. I really love this hotel as treated so nicely and taken care of when needed, just like told how to get to places u want to visit. I will definitely book this hotel for d next time i visit
