Lovely staff. We had a spacious, spotlessly clean room. Tea kettle available with green tea. The most exceptional things about the hotel are the staff and the cleanliness of this traditional type of accommodation. The onset was a nice bonus in a very economical room central to everything on the island.

De locatie aan het water vlak bij de ferry was ideaal. Bij aankomst kreeg ik te horen dat de lift maar tot de vierde etage ging. Omdat ik last had van een beenblessure was dit voor mij bezwaarlijk. Er werd niet feprobeerd een oplossing te vinden. "Sorry for the inconvenience". De traditionele tatami-futon kamer zou ik normaal leuk en prettig gevonden hebben, maar was nu door de blessure problematisch. Maar daar kan het hotel natuurlijk niets aan doen. Ik ben daarom slechts één nacht gebleven, ook al was voor 2 betaald.

Le tout très propre et avec une déco très soignée. Le soir, Miyajima est très calme et c'est très agréable de voir le torii de nuit, à 5 minutes de l'hôtel. Las habitaciones no tienen ducha pero el hotel tiene un onsen en el sótano para uso de los huéspedes que no nos esperábamos, fue una sorpresa muy agradable. El hotel está muy bien situado frente al mar y en el paseo que va del ferry a la calle principal. A destacar la amabilidad del personal del hotel. También es una experiencia el dormir en un futón, no es lo mismo que una cama pero si vas a Japón no puedes irte sin haberlo probado.
Las habitaciones no tienen ducha pero el hotel tiene un onsen en el sótano para uso de los huéspedes que no nos esperábamos, fue una sorpresa muy agradable. El hotel está muy bien situado frente al mar y en el paseo que va del ferry a la calle principal. A destacar la amabilidad del personal del hotel. También es una experiencia el dormir en un futón, no es lo mismo que una cama pero si vas a Japón no puedes irte sin haberlo probado.

We had the ocean view, beautiful settings, large room, comfortable bed/pillow. only thing is bathroom is extremely small, public bath is very nice. Staff are very helpful and we really enjoyed their hospitality. They'll serve breakfast for 500 yen, worth the price. Definitely recommend.

I like the Japanese style room. And its location is good for sightseeing. The only annoyance is that I stayed on 5th floor, where there is no lift. I had to carry my big suitcase to walk by staircase.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à l’hôtel Sakuraya et regrettons de ne pas avoir pu y rester plus longtemps ! La chambre tradition vue mer était juste incroyable et nous avions accès au bain public gratuitement. Le personnel est tellement gentil et au petits soins ! L’hôtel est parfaitement situé à quelques pas du ferry lorsque vous arrivez, cela permet de déposer les valises dès l’arrivée, puis les zones d’intérêt sont à quelques pas. Vraiment je recommande, nous avons passer l’un des meilleurs moment de notre voyage !

A beautiful property with truly lovely staff. It was super clean and the room was a generous size. Do yourself a favour and book an ocean view room. Spending a night on Miyajima is a wonderful way to take in the island. I highly recommennd Sakuraya!

Stayed here for one night. We had the best view of the bay. Its a smaller hotel but the people working here are very kind and helpful. Room was clean and spacious. We had a bathroom in the room. It was very tiny. But grateful we didn't have to share one like in other traditional ryokans. You can order a light breakfast for 500yen when you check in. There's also a bath downstairs. Would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful island! The rooms and amenities were very clean and comfortable, and the staff were kind and accommodating, even working to meet me in the middle with my broken Japanese. Would definitely visit again!

Staff were super friendly and helpful. The place was slightly old but the team has definitely kept the place in excellent condition and our stay here was super comfortable! Amenities and facilities were good. Our room's view was awesome, overlooking the sea. Overall, was a truly positive experience and would love to return to Sakuraya if we ever came back to Miyajima!

Chambre de type japonais, avec futons et douche partagée. Table basse permettant de faire un petit repas dans la chambre. Bains publics japonais au sous-sol. Le tout très propre et avec une déco très soignée. Le soir, Miyajima est très calme et c'est très agréable de voir le torii de nuit, à 5 minutes de l'hôtel. Une très belle adresse pour profiter de Miyajima !

This is a delightful hotel run by very helpful and friendly people, and we had a wonderful stay. We were in one of the Japanese-style rooms with a view of the water, which was amazing. The room was very comfortable. The oysters cooked at the place at the hotel entrance were great.

Front staff was super kind & accommodating. Gave us family dinner recommendations and Niwa Cafe did not disappoint. Would have been nice if even a small continental breakfast was offered as nothing opens on the island before 9 am-not even Starbucks. Highly recommend you bring breakfast w/you! Large room fit the 5 of us & extra bathrooms at hotel helped.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. The place was slightly old but the team has definitely kept the place in excellent condition and our stay here was super comfortable! Amenities and facilities were good. Our room's view was awesome, overlooking the sea. Overall, was a truly positive experience and would love to return to Sakuraya if we ever came back to Miyajima!

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à l’hôtel Sakuraya et regrettons de ne pas avoir pu y rester plus longtemps ! La chambre tradition vue mer était juste incroyable et nous avions accès au bain public gratuitement. Le personnel est tellement gentil et au petits soins ! L’hôtel est parfaitement situé à quelques pas du ferry lorsque vous arrivez, cela permet de déposer les valises dès l’arrivée, puis les zones d’intérêt sont à quelques pas. Vraiment je recommande, nous avons passer l’un des meilleurs moment de notre voyage !

We had a magnificent view from our room. The rooms were spacious and able to sit and enjoy the view. Very close to the ferry, easy to walk to and from the ferry with our luggage. Also all the major tourist sites are walkable and close to many restaurants. We were early for check in but the staff allowed us to leave the luggage in the hotel, while we explored the island.

A cute, clean experience in a typical Japanese Ryokan! The onson was lovely even though its in the basement with no view. Oddly, there were very few restaurants on the island open for dinner. We did find an excellent local one. The beat part was the view of the harbour and hike and tram up the mountain!!!

Love, love, love our stay. Only wished stores and restaurants open later. Everything closed too early before 6pm. The hotel is facing the water for sunset and sunrise enjoyment !

Wonderful hotel by the ocean. Right next to the sea. There’s grilled oysters being sold in front. The room was clean. Futon was comfortable. Breakfast can be bought and paid for in advance. The staff was very friendly and willing to hold luggage for us before check in and after check out.

We had the ocean view, beautiful settings, large room, comfortable bed/pillow. only thing is bathroom is extremely small, public bath is very nice. Staff are very helpful and we really enjoyed their hospitality. They'll serve breakfast for 500 yen, worth the price. Definitely recommend.

Great place to experience a traditional stay in Japan. Walking distance from the terminal. Downside a lot of business and restaurants shut extremely early. Limited dinner options on the Island, with everything closing around 7:30 to 8pm.

Tres bel hotel à 150m du débarcadere des ferrys (mais assez loin). Vue mer sublime. Chambre traditionnelle avec futons tres spacieuse. Personnel sympa. Mon seul vrai repproche serait l'étroitesse de la sdb. Le petit dej est très modeste mais pour 500 Y suffisant.

Odawara Terminal Hotel 5/5 Excellent I can’t recommend this place enough. When my useless hotel in Kyoto had issues with shipping my luggage to Okinawa (I was already in Hiroshima when they informed me about this) they were absolutely no help and basically told me “sucks to suck” the amazing staff somehow managed to get my luggage rerouted to the hotel and it was sitting in the lobby waiting for me the next morning. Amazing staff and amazing place. I will be coming back again one day

You cannot beat the location, as it is right on the main drag and across from the water, and close to the ferry. It’s also close to shops and restaurants. The staff is very helpful, as I had misplaced an item and they were able to hold it for me. The onsen in the basement is great. The tatami mats in the room are fine, and the futons are also comfortable. The bathroom is a bit outdated, but everything works.
