Breezbay Lake Resort Kawaguchiko

Great location and reasonable price but small onsen and Japanese language on breakfast and dinner menu. No English!

It’s a great place for a couple or a family with quiet children. Room had rather old fashioned equipment. Finding a switch was like looking for a needle in a haystack. But the views were fantastic, onsen (gender separated), was really nice, food was ok. Oh and I enjoyed the yukata and massage chairs!

Property is a bit dated. Staff were efficient but not overly welcoming. The atmosphere was inhospitable. This was the only property out of of all places we stayed at in Japan where we were required to wear plastic gloves in the dining area. The gloves werent latex and because they were plastic, it made it dangerous picking up plates etc.

The hotel is very dated, the staff appeared unwelcoming and constantly masked up. The hotel decoration is from the 70's, you had to leave your shoes in reception and wear slippers. It's the only place I've been asked to wear gloves to obtain food from the breakfast buffet. The breakfast food was fine, fresh fruit, croissants, scrambled eggs, fish were all available but curry for breakfast was a first for me. Overall it was a bit odd. On the positive side, the room had a nice view over the lake, was a nice size and the bedding was clean.
