Man muss bei der Buchung bedenken, dass das Generator halb Hotel, halb Hostel ist! Die Standard Doppelzimmer sind sehr schlicht eingerichtet, Fenster zum Innenhof, Wände sehr dünn - da darf man nicht zu viel erwarten. Daher lieber ein paar Euro mehr in die Hand nehmen und ein Balkonzimmer buchen. Hier ist der Blick auf die Sagrada Familia super schön und man kann in Ruhe an der frischen Luft sitzen! Bar, Restaurant und Dachterasse waren prima! Personal freundlich. Die Gegend kam uns sicher vor! Die nächsten ÖPNV-Stationen sind alle in 5 min. Zu Fuß erreichbar!

Quarto amplo e confortável, bom atendimento dos funcionários, ótima localização. Pontos ruins: - controle do ar se fazia pela recepção - não tinha limpeza de quarto com 3 dias de hospedagem - chegamos mais cedo e para largar as malas lá e ir passear tem que pagar lockers, todos hoteis que ja fui na vida guardam as bagagens gratuitamente.

The place is in desperate need of renovations, they don’t really do any good or deep cleaning. The showers are covered in mold and tiny (if you’re a gal forget trying to shave your legs or bend down to scrub them). Our sink didn’t have any hand detergent all weekend long, no toilet paper multiple times (thank god I was out most of the day). Also there’s only two washer and two dryers; one dryer was broken throughout my stay(the piles of wet laundry were everywhere in laundry room). I had asked to borrow they’re iron (they have a sign stating to ask reception for it) but they refused to let me use it (knowing that there was only one working dryer and that I was simply trying to get my clothes somewhat dry), they insisted on a 20€ deposit CASH, which I didn’t have nor could I take out due to my physical bank card situation. So I had to wait until a dryer became available and the dryer didn’t even work, leaving my clothes still wet. I left with a luggage full of wet clothes…. Also when if I’m paying for early check in my bed should be available, my bed was not available despite early check in fee charge and even when I got to go to my room they were still cleaning it so I had to stand awkwardly by door way, it was check in time by the time I was able to actually settle in to my bed. The only person I will say was great and friendly was Guido, he did the sangria masterclass, he’s awesome!

The private rooms all seem to have a bit of an outside balcony space which was brilliant for enjoying some sun privately. The roof terrace was great for a view across the city. There was a great atmosphere. The only unfortunate thing was the road works taking place outside were quite noisy so that made it hard to sleep in and the bar was a little on the expensive side. None the less I would recommend. It’s just under a 20 minute walk from Sagrada Familia, and about 30 minutes from Las Ramblas / Plaça de Catalunya.

Looks fun, great lobby, bar and breakfast area. Very social and active but i was too busy to enjoy. The downside is the building. Elevator light went out while riding, personal locker slammed closed on my hand and head. Front desk had no bandage for my bleeding. Pillow case was dirty. Some staff a little too "friendly" with women.

I liked the location, thats all. I found a small worm in my bed, and went to tell reception I wanted to change beds. What did they do then? They just changed the sheets on that bed and assigned another guest there :/ the bed wasn't even comfortable. I felt the springs up my back. The elevator situation was also a mess, slow and sometimes you don't fit because of number of people. Guests there are mostly late teens.

Good stay. The lift was extremely slow. Had to keep going down to see reception about a number of things and it took forever due to the lift. My card stopped working and I had to wait 20 mins in the line at reception due to other people checking in. They should have a line just for quick fixes. The location was great.

Was meant to be busy great hotel for solo travel- my friend told me about it. I arrived at 6pm and it was very quiet. I went to microwave food and there was a cockroach near the microwave (single but still disgusting as were all the dishes so this put me off going breakfast). There were very young boys on the roof looked about 12? I went out at 9pm as still dead people in the lift said the same, came back at 11pm and the front bar area was full but with couples it was not bustley just busy and back bar had 4 people in so I showered. The toilet in the room didn’t lock (as a woman who needed it to lock) I told reception and they said there were communal showers and toilet. There was one toilet (seemed like mens as no bin and only men using the 3 showers on that floor that were “communal”) I really wasn’t impressed with my stay. The shower was good in the room but there was a slat loose in the ceiling which made me feel uncomfortable as if someone could look through it? Could have stayed 4 nights very glad I only stayed one as it’s far away and really did not meet expectations. I’ve been travelling for 4 weeks to many countries this looks the best but really is not.

Viajamos em família, o hostel não disponibiliza toalhas, tivemos que comprar, ficamos 5 noites e o quarto não foi limpo durante este período. Na parte que tem o chuveiro saia um cheiro de esgoto muito forte. Sem isolamento acústico nos quartos. Tivemos problema de acesso ao quarto com o cartão três dias seguidos e tivemos que chamar um funcionário pra conseguir entrar. Não recomendo para famílias que fiquem mais tempo na cidade. Mais indicado para jovens . Ponto positivo - localização

Chambre adaptée pour une famille de 4 personnes. Logement très propre. Literie agreable. Immeuble moderne, très bien situé à proximité des commerces et du métro. Nous avons adoré notre séjour. Merci pour l'accueil chaleureux.

Auberge de jeunesse au top, très propre. Le petit déjeuner est garni à souhait, copieux et varié. Chambre de 4 lit, très propre. Seul reproche, pas assez de chaise ou support pour deposer les affaires (une chaise et une petite console pour 4 personnes).

Im Vergleich zu anderen Hostels in Barcelona würde ich das Hostel leider nicht empfehlen. Auch wenn es in der Beschreibung vom Jostel steht, dass keine gemeinsame Küche vorhanden ist, empfinde ich es jedoch für die Größe des Hostels als extremen Minuspunkt. Was ich vor allem bemängeln muss ist leider die Sauberkeit. Das Gemeinschaftsbad war leider auch nicht getrennt (Männer/Frauen) und wurde meiner Meinung nach viel zu selten sauber gemacht. Dementsprechend sah es auch aus. Für den Preis war ich leider schon in deutlich saubereren Hostels in Barcelona.
Im Vergleich zu anderen Hostels in Barcelona würde ich das Hostel leider nicht empfehlen. Auch wenn es in der Beschreibung vom Jostel steht, dass keine gemeinsame Küche vorhanden ist, empfinde ich es jedoch für die Größe des Hostels als extremen Minuspunkt. Man muss bei der Buchung bedenken, dass das Generator halb Hotel, halb Hostel ist! Die Standard Doppelzimmer sind sehr schlicht eingerichtet, Fenster zum Innenhof, Wände sehr dünn - da darf man nicht zu viel erwarten. Daher lieber ein paar Euro mehr in die Hand nehmen und ein Balkonzimmer buchen. Hier ist der Blick auf die Sagrada Familia super schön und man kann in Ruhe an der frischen Luft sitzen! Bar, Restaurant und Dachterasse waren prima! Personal freundlich. Die Gegend kam uns sicher vor! Die nächsten ÖPNV-Stationen sind alle in 5 min. Zu Fuß erreichbar!

We had a private room with terrace on the 8th floor which was perfect! Room was basic but really modern, clean and great temperature with a/c especially in the heat while we were there. The hotel is very modern and eclectic with a good buzz about it all the time. Everything we were doing was within walking distance and the area is great. Highly recommend

En general bien, cerca de la Sagrada familia y del metro lo que facilita el traslado a otros lados, tiene varias variedades, opción de desayuno, las camadas son cómodas y con luz individual, tiene espacios mi lindos de esparcimiento, muy recomendable! El tamaño de la habitación es pequeño pero realmente solo lo usas para dormir así que sin problema.

Noisy place. There are groups of teenagers who knock the door, run in the hallway and scream late at night. I was in a private room, but could not sleep because of the noite. Good location, clean, but not worth the noise inside.

I have stayed in many Generators (7 to be precise) and this is the worst of them all due to the nonchalant ways of most staffs. I had no power through my bed (unable to use the light or charge my phone) and on my way out (early morning) made them aware of it. Come to find out request was submitted to maintenance at 6pm when they close at 5pm. No empathy displayed- they made me feel like I was a non paying customer 😏. From the security guy to front desk personnel they were very unbothered unconcerned

Estadia péssima! Éramos 3 pessoas, pagamos um quarto para 4 pessoas com banheiro. Fizemos nosso checkin, primeiro quarto fedia muito a mofo, um dos hóspedes estava com Asma o que piorou muito o quadro, solicitamos troca e fomos trocados por um quarto inferior ao nosso, mas ok, pelo menos não fedia à mofo. Não houve limpeza do quarto nenhum dia, um único dia, estávamos no quarto quando alguém do hotel entrou e trocou um rolo de papel, o segundo ficou, pois tinha uma única folha ainda. O teto do banheiro estava solto e caindo no box. No terceiro dia ao solicitar uma troca de toalha, pois não houve em nenhum momento, fomos informados que ela seria paga. Pedi mais um rolo de papel higiênico a funcionária Yeneken, foi grosseira, debochou e riu por pedirmos um rolo de papel, ao perguntarmos seu nome, ela com todo cinismo perguntou se queríamos que ela soletrasse. Limpeza horrível, carpetes sujos. Serviço do hotel péssimo. Não indicaria jamais o Generator Barcelona. Único ponto positivo a localização, de resto, fujam do hotel, tudo é cobrado à parte, tudo. Estava esperando uma mala chegar, perguntei na recepção duas vezes em ambas as vezes me disseram que não tinham recebido nada, na segunda vez o rapaz da recepção nem se levantou para olhar, apenas disse que não tinha nada, porém um segundo funcionário passando pela recepção ouviu minha pergunta e disse que tinha chegado sim, que estava ao fundo da recepção, ou seja, ninguém lá está para ajudar o hóspede. Fujam!

Det är inte första gången vi bor på Generator. Vi har bott där i Stockholm bland annat. Det bästa denna gången på Generator Barcelona var definitivt personalen. Så hjälpsamma och serviceinriktade. Vi kommer definitivt fortsätta bo på Generator.

O pessoal do hostel não é muito receptivo. Quando cheguei e fui verificar a possibilidade de fazer checkin mais cedo porque tinha agendado já uma visita ao Park Guell, o rapaz que estava na recepção foi um tanto quanto rude e grosseiro, dizendo que não e que se eu quisesse podia pagar pelo locker disponível em uma sala. Não é um apontamento sobre a negativa do checkin mais cedo, mas sim sobre a postura do funcionário em relação ao hóspede. Quarto um pouco apertado na área das camas, mas as camas em si são muito confortáveis. Um ponto muito positivo para nós mulheres é o secador de cabelos disponível. O local do chuveiro é muito pertado e a luz é de sensor, então todos os banhos que tomei a luz apagou e não acendeu mais, então tive que tomar banho a meia luz, porque tive que abrir a porta pra poder enxergar algo. Vedação do box não é das melhores porque molhou muito o chão e acabei me sentindo desconfortável pela próxima pessoa que entraria pra tomar banho, que iria lidar com um chão molhado.

Good stay. The lift was extremely slow. Had to keep going down to see reception about a number of things and it took forever due to the lift. My card stopped working and I had to wait 20 mins in the line at reception due to other people checking in. They should have a line just for quick fixes. The location was great.

It's a hostel and you're not paying for anything fancy. What you get here is basic but the important things that matter are all there and done really well. Great bedding, fab shower pressure, and really lovely staff to top off the experiance. If you're looking for great quality no frills at a fantastic price, this is the place.

Great location away from heards of tourists but all attractions easily walkable. Great food options nearby and seems to be a quiet and safe neighborhood. Staff were not particularly friendly or helpful, nor did they explain where hangout spots etcs were located in the building, nor did they encourage socialising which is a must when travelling alone and staying in a hostel. I was declined entry to breakfast area despite buying a coffee, but where else would you meet fellow travellers!! The rooms are a good set up with great water pressure. However, the room could be cleaner , especially the bed frames as they probably haven't been cleaned since installation. The bed sheet could also be fitted as constantly having to adjust it. Not impressed with having to buy a towel, most travellerd have to pack light so it should be basic necessity (take a deposit). I'm a little concerned with health and safety. Having got up to turn the lights out I heard commotion in the hallway. It was only when I opened the door I heard an alarm to vacate the building. No guidance at all - no one knew what was going on. Turned out to be a false alarm but the problem is you can't hear the alarm from inside the room (517) which is quite freighting if it was a real emergency. Overall too large to care for travellers experience. If you think the self check-in will bypass the long queues at reception, think again, as you'll need to collect key and pay taxes at reception afterwards anyway so pointless!

The private rooms all seem to have a bit of an outside balcony space which was brilliant for enjoying some sun privately. The roof terrace was great for a view across the city. There was a great atmosphere. The only unfortunate thing was the road works taking place outside were quite noisy so that made it hard to sleep in and the bar was a little on the expensive side. None the less I would recommend. It’s just under a 20 minute walk from Sagrada Familia, and about 30 minutes from Las Ramblas / Plaça de Catalunya.

Foi bom, perto do metro e lojas próximas como mercado e farmácia. O quarto é grande. Faltou limpeza, pediram para avisar quando seria necessário limpar, mesmo assim não foram. Havia um barulho da porta do banheiro do corredor, ficava batendo o tempo inteiro. Além do barulho de outros hóspedes durante a noite

Looks fun, great lobby, bar and breakfast area. Very social and active but i was too busy to enjoy. The downside is the building. Elevator light went out while riding, personal locker slammed closed on my hand and head. Front desk had no bandage for my bleeding. Pillow case was dirty. Some staff a little too "friendly" with women.

The Generator was a great place to stay for a few days in Barcelona. The facilties were clean and the staff were very helpful and kind. The bar and restaurant on site, as well as the lounge area were very nice touches. I enjoyed my stay and would return again.
The Generator was a great place to stay for a few days in Barcelona. The facilties were clean and the staff were very helpful and kind. The bar and restaurant on site, as well as the lounge area were very nice touches. I enjoyed my stay and would return again.

Not bad but not as great as the one hotel I stayed in Madrid. There was no shampoo in the shower and neither a body wash dispenser nor soap. Breakfast was good and not too pricey

The family room was fine for our family of four, and the kids each enjoyed having a top bunk. There was food downstairs as well as across the street. Unfortunately, food was not allowed in the rooms which made it difficult to grab something and bring it back with you. Also, on our second of two nights, a couple a guys were playing a loud game of soccer in front of our door and rammed into it at one point. We politely told them that we had kids that were trying to sleep and asked them to keep it down. About 45 minutes later, they came by and banged on our door. Luckily, the kids weren’t actually trying to sleep. Just be aware that this is a hostel, and although most of the people in there are fine and leave families alone, there are some who are not.

Interesting experience to say the least. 1. my personal locker was broken, the light and electricity socket in my bed didn’t work, and the air condition in the room was broken so it was way too hot in the room! It was too late to complain so I mentioned it to the reception the following morning. They did fix the locker but not the rest. Just an FYI The rooms are tiny and the shower and toilet are also tiny. If you enjoy your food good luck being hygienic as I don’t think you would fit in these facilities. 2. Maybe out of the hostels control, but I was unfortunate with my fellow room mates. One brought someone home at 4am, another was smoking out the window, and others praying in the walkway of the room. I found it rude, noisy and inconsiderate and also against the rules. In my 10 years of travelling I’ve never experienced this in a hostel before. The negatives aside, the facilities looked cool with a bar, pool tables and social areas. And the location is also great.

The should include the city tax in the price. It would be easier and more honest. The hotel has a good location. The staff was very nice - although there was a long line to check in. The hotel is modern. A good stay - I would return if I got the chance.
