The area was quite nice; an on-site gazebo, sitting area with a gorgeous waterfront view of the St. Lawrence River, point Jacques-Cartier and downtown Montreal in the background. It’s conveniently by the highway and a large shopping complex in Brossard. The front desk clerks at check in and checkout were friendly. Parking was free and in front of our door (#28). Thankfully, the bedsheets were clean! The microwave and small fridge were dirty. The door and window locks were functional. As for the negatives. It’s clear the property is used for prostitution. This alone, along with its traffic made it feel unsafe. A cleaning lady was cleaning rooms as we checked in and during the night. I assumed she had a break at one point, but early in the morning she was rolling her cart up and down the walkway, cleaning these rooms. Our room had evidence of cigarette smoke and the furniture was outdated. The bathroom, especially the tub, was not cleaned well. My husband and I were informed at checkout that the initial clerk should have given us a remote for the AC for our room. This property has great potential, but not at this time. I recommend this motel for one night.

The property was more run down than the pictures showed. However the room, bathroom and bedding were clean. While the property is on the St. Lawerence, with a gazibo and dock, it is over grown with junk dumped in the area. The room did have good air conditioning, but unfortunately a power outage in the whole area knocked it out. While I couldn't connect to the guest wifi (it only worked in the motel office) i was automatically connecting to an unknown, unsecure network until I noticed and blocked it. One very positive thing was that I was able to book it without payment in advance.

The parking and location is good. But the room condition was terrible, very minima light, and had a stench of something. Stains on the bedsheet, not even proper insulated covers on the heater. Terrible experience, but only for one night and budget, I guess then not bad.

Room was not clean, in the bathroom everything was old and moldy. Bed was clanky and bedding smelled smoke even though we requested a non smoking room. The lady at checkin was not friendly at all and even gave us a smoking room at the beginning despite our request, we had to return to the checkin room to ask for another room. The handle for hot water in the bathroom sink was broken and we had no hot water. We tried to call them but no answer. Will never be back and do not recommend.

We found a bed bug And we went home and we found a bed bug So we now literally had to wash all our clothes and everything at our home

Bathroom has a bugs and flies with lots of cockroaches, main door is not opening easily - everytime you have to apply a brute force to open it. There is only one small light in the room. Very bad condition of the facility

Well they kept my 100$ security deposit, know answer at the front desk at 7:45 to return it. the bathroom had mold on the joints, the potted ceiling lights were more than half burnt. When you turned on the bathtub light, the exhaust made a horrible noise! The bedding was stained and the property in general was dirty and run down!

Heater was not working, microwave had an issue. Bed sheet had stains. Floor was really dirty. I would not recommend

I had a terrible experience at Motel Rideau. The room was dirty, with dead bugs in the bedding and live cockroaches. My husband was bitten, and when I reported this to the manager, he blamed me instead of helping. He refused to clean the room, change it, or offer any compensation. We had to leave in the middle of the night and book another hotel, which caused extra stress and unexpected costs. The lack of cleanliness and poor management ruined our trip. This stay was unacceptable and I strongly do not recommend this motel.

Everything was awful the room was not cleaned Prior to my stay , there were dead insects in the room , internet didn’t work . Staff was never present . Just a terrible experience.

That hotel is a scam. Has nothing to do with the picture. Dirty, wall had weird brown stains, spiderwebs on the ceiling, very dusty, no heat in the room when we got here, the fridge was not working. The best part of our stat is when we cheked out..

It was very dirty. Old soap and shampoo containers left in the bathroom. There wasnt even a toilet paper roll holder. Huge stains on the floor. Three massive holes in the bathroom door. Smelled like smoke and was a non smoking room. Bed was so soft that it tilts to one side when you lie down. I'm not sure if it said it was supposed to be air conditioned or not, but it was a sweat box.

This motel offered accomodation for low price. however it was dirty with hairs and mold. the staff was unfriendly. I wished I spent a few $more and stayed somewhere else.

The room is really not up to date. The air conditioning doesn't work. There's a lack of light in the room and outside. The shower water doesn't flow well. The bed sheet has holes in it. I don't recommend it.

Les ampoules des encastrés étaient presque tous absentes ou brûlées, donc très sombre. Moisissures au plafond de la mini salle de toilette. Le bain tourbillon n'était pas très propre et on devait se doucher assis dedans, car aucune douche autre. L'odeur dans la chambre était horrible, ça sentait le renfermé et la cigarette, alors que c'est une chambre non-fumeur. Quand nous sommes revenus pour la seconde nuit, rien n'avait été fait, les serviettes mouillées encore sur le bord du bain et le lit pas refait. Très déçue. Le seul point fort, le matelas était confortable.

The room was clean but there was stains on the sheets/blankets. The room looked different than the picture I saw posted online, the shower head was taped together. It wasn’t terrible for a place to rest your head for one night.

We booked two rooms and when we checked-in we were allocated with one smoking room and other on non-smoking room. It was not mentioned anywhere while doing online reservation that we would be provided with smoking room. The smell of smoke was so strong that we couldn't stand for even single minute. Also, A/C was not working properly and did not have remote or button to control the temperature. The bedsheets were dirty and spots on it. Telephone was not working and drawer was broken. Lights were inadequate. When we request the staff to change room they just said that they can't help with this. Overall, the experience was so terrible and I would NEVER suggest anyone this stay. More to this, when I talked to Expedia customer service, even they did not compensate us.

Air condition was good, no share washroom, quiet enviroment, free parking. The equipment was very old and light was not enough in room. I hope they make good money to improve their business.

Room 14 we were originally checked into had beat up floors, patched comforter, one working light and smelled musty. Dirty towels hanging up behind bathroom door. We had originally called to switch rooms they said there was nothing left. When an hour later we went to the front desk asking about checking out a room some how became available. It was okay so we stayed. The place could be cute with a lot of TLC. At least the toilet paper wasn't cheap. No washcloths were provided, there were signs about insect prevention on the doors to all rooms and a sign inventorying the towels and the cost if they were stolen. I wasn't expecting the Hilton obviously, it was a place to sleep and we couldn't wait to get out of there in the morning.

Staff was great. If you just want sleepover near the city, would be good idea. My overall experience was good with no complaints

Had a security concern when my door was left Open. No one takes responsibility of security . Neither hotel nor Expedia. Think 100 times before you book this hotel or you book through Expedia. All that Expedia will do is share an apology email.

Unfortunately the photos of the room doesn’t match with the reality of the property…we arrived at 1PM and were able to do the check-in however room wasn’t ready, and no solution was provided, I checked the room and it was smoky smelling, the entire room smells like cigarette, and my wife and myself saw “guests” smoking around the accommodation. So after 30min my wife and I decided to not stay there, and simply PAY IN FULL, even though we didn’t use anything, but the situation was so terrible and not properly set that we preferred to just leave.the property being simple isn’t the issue, however feels like abandoned and truly needs some help…and definitely feels sketchy and not proper for a family to stay there.

On Hotels.com the room was presented with a a 10% discount 111$ a night to 100$, when I click on the confirm button reservation, the price was returned to 111$ + taxes. When i arrived at the hotel the manager didn’t want to discuss with the discount, he said discuss with hotels.com and he fave maintained the price to 111$ + taxes., and more, he charged me a 60$ for a deposit fee. He reembursed me they morning but this deposit was not mention on the Internet site. It is abusing. I didn’t take pictures, but the walls were broken, some light’s bulbes were missing …

I had a really bad experience at this motel. The staff was unprofessional, and it took forever to get any assistance. Management was even worse—Mean and unhelpful when I had an issue. The room was filthy—stains on the sheets, dirty floors, and a musty smell that never went away. The place seemed poorly run, and I won’t be staying here again. Avoid it if you can.

The room had a mildewy smell upon entering and the bathroom was dirty as well as the beds. There were broken light fixtures and outlets as well as the fan in the bathroom is missing just an empty hole that could pose safety issue. Area surrounding motel is pretty sketchy and feels unsafe. Wouldn’t recommend.

If you’re looking for a comfortable bed and a hot shower at a fair price that is well located on the south shore of Montreal, this is the place. But, be aware that it is run down over time, basic and not clean.

Great location

The rooms were not at clean, specifically the washroom ! The tenants around seemed suspicious and we felt quite unsafe the whole night. I had just drove from Scarborough to Quebec City and then from quebec city to Montreal at this motel ! Need a major renovation for both the property and the image of the motel !

There is no drinking water, there is not enough soap, they put on very small towels to dry after the bathroom.

Mold on the shower walls...wifi never worked. Tv had no channels..closest restaurant was 15 min drive. Very shady place

The pictures associated with the property are very deceiving. I am American visiting Montréal and didn’t know what to expect of the area. Property is next to housing. Their was people you could tell lived at this motel. Picture shows views of water with geese around. I walked to end of property where this was and view of water and the city was blocked by abandoned boats, grass in area not mowed, goose poop everywhere. Probably was a nice sitting area but not kept up. Room was very crowded because it was so small with 2 beds crammed in it. Electrical to everything is failing so there was a lot of rigged up wiring, major fire hazard. Bathroom was the best thing of the whole room but failed as well in my opinion as the tub was very slick when I showered presenting a hazard for falling. I tired to flat iron my hair and the one plug that was a part of the only light fixture didn’t have enough electric current to work the flat iron. There was doors opening and shutting long after midnight. No lighting outside except a solar motion detector light above the door that stays on about 20 seconds. The beds were very hard and worn and bedding was worn and outdated as well. The man running the place was very nice and friendly looked like the also sold liquors by the bottle. This might be normal is this area but something I had never seen before. I knew when booking this was motel not 5 star resort but this doesn’t even qualify for 1 star. It is cheap though compared to everything else.
