Our stay was fine, nothing special. Wouldn't say staff were particularly friendly or welcoming. The room was fine, clean and had all the basics. Bed was very soft and bouncy which woke me every time my husband rolled over. Gym was just a couple of machines and smelt like mouldy room. Buffet breakfast was very average but from what we ate seemed fresh. Parking next door was easy, but cheaper to pay there than the hotel (hotel wanted to charge us $60 to pay through them, we only paid $4 paying directly). As a VIP we were suppose to get a bottle of wine, which we didn't receive (at other hotels we've never had to ask for our bonuses) Would only consider staying there again because it was clean and the location was fantastic for where we needed to go.

Overall good hotel, can checkin til midnight, late checkout at 11am. Rooms at front of hotel do have noise from Flinders Street, but overnight, the sound is minimal and sleep is excellent. Oldish hotel, small lifts, but in nice condition. Great central location.

The stunning architecture of the building especially the domed atrium area which was exquisite inside. The Duty Manager on our first night was excellent in addressing an external mechanical noise issue affecting our room and promptly relocating us to an upgraded room. The breakfast buffet was extensive, delicious and economical. The bar had a nice ambience with a good wine selection at reasonable prices.

It is a lovely grand old building in great condition. My rating, unfortunately, is in reflection of the staff and cleanliness of my room. My first room's shower-over-the-bath set up obviously had not been cleaned properly, with the kind of hair that you don't want to see left in the bottom of the bath. This room's air conditioner was terribly noisy, after requesting, I was relocated to another room. Unfortunately, this room's toilet had used and not flushed prior to my arrival. The staff made you feel like you were a burden, and the manager was quite rude when I called and requested clarification around charges as only a single receipt was provided on check-out with dual charges made to my card.

Love this hotel with its old world charm. The room was small which was to be expected. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We did change rooms as the bedside table had food and a piece of tissue. Moving to the new room again the bedside table hadn't been wiped. Coffee or tea stain. House keeping needs to improve. Will definitely stay again.

Good location but room small and not clean. Hotel needs a deep clean and updating. Buffet breakfast not that good,a lot of food run out waiting for plates, first morning when we went for breakfast a sign said wait to be seated then a waiter told us it was a free for all and said good luck. Definitely not a 4 star rating. Not a VIP Expedia hotel.

Whenever I stay in the CBD I alway choose the Rendezvous and alway have been happy, this time I was pretty disappointed, the room was as it normally was, small but perfect fora single person, but the bathroom, the bathroom was disgusting. The shower looked liked it “might” have been wiped out, I say might and there long hair all over the bath and shower head, the bin was full with dirty tissues and when I say say full, I mean FULL, you could not get another thing in it. The basin and bench area quite clearly hadn’t been cleaned as there was water and stains (looked like toothpaste) all over it and the mirror was dirty. I requested at the front desk if the bin could be emptied and this was done before I returned from dinner. Overall the standards are slipping, might have to look for a new hotel next time.

Our room was tiny. The design of the layout made it feel like a shoe box. No room for a bag. Had to open it on the bed/in the walkway. Room advertised with a view which it shouldn't be, you can't call that a view, especially compared to other hotels in Melbourne that actually have views. When i called the front desk to check we had the right room she said yes and that the other rooms look at concrete walls of neighbouring builings. So the bar is low! More like a small window with an obstructed "view".The window was also so grubby you could hardly see out of it. The staff we amazing and the lobby and bar great but accommodation too tiny. We ended up shortening the stay and booking elsewhere

The room is a bit worn out, we booked the river view room but the windows are full of dust that we can’t really see through outside. Just a good place for a short stay as the room is quite small too.

The bathroom sliding door is very heavy and does not stay shut, keeps sliding opening. Luckily I was traveling solo but this is a big issue if you’re sharing a room. Maybe remove the mirror on the door to make it weigh less.

Horrible experience with reception staff named Minnie (or something similar) who was unreasonably rude, disrespectful and unhelpful. We made her manager aware of it and hopefully she is gone sooner. Hotel is good otherwise, breakfast options can be better for a longer term stay.

Customer service was not good this stay, not sure if new staff but we’re not interested in helping us at all. Felt like we were inconveniencing them by checking in. Check in was a disaster. System was down which can't be helped but we were told to take a seat and they would cone and let us know when they could find our room. We waited 20 mins and no one even made an attempt to find us. We had to go back ask if they had found a room for us and then they just gave us the room key. By this time a bus of tourist arrived in which they didn't plan for and it caused chaos. One lift was out of order and they couldn't accommodate getting everyone to their rooms for the congestion. When ended up leaving our bag with the one concierge trying to deal with everything as we had to get to the rugby. We were also denied the buffet breakfast which was booked because their system was down and they didn't believe me when i said it came with the booking. I had to retrieve the email to prove we were entitled to it. I gave the staff some feedback regarding the poor service and they just shrugged it off. I had to demand they write down i had booked the buffet breakfast so i wouldn't be charged again. Very disappointed as we stay here often but will consider a change for next time

This is the fifth time i have stayed here, it is my preferred place to stay in the CBD. Parking is literally right next door and heavily discounted. If travelling by public transport finders street station is right across the road. Most things like food, pubs, tourist attractions are within walking distance.The rooms vary depending on your booking but all are clean and tidy. The beds are fairly comfortable.

The hotel is lovely. The breakfast was good. The rooms are clean. Despite being in a room facing the train tracks and Yarra River it was incredibly quiet. Highly recommended. The corner of Flinders and Elizabeth seems dirty and dangerous but if you avoid that, it is fine.

Correct dans l’ensemble et très bon situé au centre de tout, mais le service laisse à désirer en chambre et pour le petit déjeuner. 1 seule machine à café pour une capacité d’une centaine de personnes (la seconde en panne depuis 2 jours et laissée en l’état) et le dimanche, une queue incroyable, pas de place pour s’asseoir et le personnel, un peu désorienté n’agit pas beaucoup… bref « the mess ». Mais tout à fait correct et acceptable donc je pourrais revenir.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen. Das Zimmer war okay und ausreichend groß. Das Bad war etwas klein. Frühstück war gut. Der Service war top. Ich habe mein Zimmer deutlich vor der Checkin Zeit bekommen. Für kurze Aufenthalte kann ich es empfehlen.

Stayed a few times here, it seems to get a little more tired each time. Told to use the lift near the bar and then told we cant because of a reception. Breakfast was just average, hard to find a clean table, no bread, hard to get a cup of tea!

From the moment we arrived the friendly helpful service did not waiver. Our room was clean, very comfortable, extremely quiet and the view of the Yarra was a bonus. We will definitely return as the buffet breakfast is my partner's new favorite of hotel buffets available!
