My fourth time here, and it's consistently great! The rooms are always comfortable and spotless, with all the essentials. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Love the convenience of having a restaurant, cafe, and bottle shop on site, plus they'll deliver dinner right to your room! Plenty of parking available too. Always a positive experience; I'll happily stay again!

Reception was very welcoming and happy to assist with my requests, Having a small light left on and air con going for my arrival at night was greatly appreciated. Although I didn’t use it, the option of having an evening meal brought to your room was a great idea. Lovely hot water and comfy bed. Plenty of parking space. Traffic was a little noticeable but ear plugs would be an easy fix.

Rommet og badet var passe stort med følgende fasiliteter; AC, kjøleskap, TV, vannkoker med kaffe og te, WIFI+++ Rommet var enkelt, men funksjonelt innredet. Alt var meget godt rengjort og vedlikeholdt. Utvendig ser anlegget litt forfallent ut Parkering skjer i front av det enkelte rom (inkludert). Frokost er ikke tilgjengelig, men hotellet har god lunsj og middagsservering til en grei pris (se bilder - ikke inkludert) Det er lite som er tilgjengelig i nærområdet og sentrum ligger ca 12 km unna. Given the price everything was completely as expected. Clean bedrooms, normal faciliites, on-site, safe and easy parking with friendly staff as well somewhat easy access to public transport. If you're on a budget or otherwise, I recommend staying here.

I spent three nights here, I found it convenient as it has a bistro and bar, so didn't have to go anywhere for a meal or drink after I'd finished my days work. And in the morning there was a an early morning coffee shop attached for that early morning pick me up. The room was cleaned everyday, this was good except for the third day when it was also very windy, that day I got by to the room to everything near the door was covered in dust (fine grit) I don't know if this was because of the cleaner leaving the door while cleaning the room or if the dust had blown in under the door during day after the room was cleaned. This detracted from my initial experience and though I have further work coming up in the area, I'm unsure if I'll stay here again.

The rooms are comfortable and clean, including all the basics. The staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. Shoutout to the lovely cleaning lady for her kindness and service. There is a cafe, restaurant and bottle shop by reception which is very convienient. Plus plenty of parking available. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay, will happily stay again.

Staff were absolutely lovely, and really accommodating. The room itself was clean and neat, no weird smells, and an aircon that works! The blind has gaps around the edges, so the room lit up very easily, and you definitely hear people talking in the car park. Considering location though, the traffic noise didn't bother me at all (my partner heard loud trucks every now and then). Absolutely recommend the pub for meals, great staff and delicious food (seriously, we're debating driving an hour and a bit just for the Mexican Parma hahaha). Oh, and there can be confusion with codes if you end up with a check out time after 10am, don't freak out tho, you get text a new code on the day!

We needed affordable accommodation at short notice for a trip to Melbourne and were lucky enough to find the Guiding Star. The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable and despite being close to a main road, very quiet! The service staff were very keen to make sure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a very affordable stay in Melbourne, keep this place on your list!

I was very happy with the room and the person who checked us in was lovely.. the room looked good.. My only disappointment was the Wi-Fi service! It was truly literally inaccessible... Was one reason l booked the room here as l needed to be able to access details on my tablet, which l was unable to do! It cut out every 10 seconds would have to wait 30 seconds for it to sign back in to only cut out again straight away!

do not judge a book by its cover as is in this case. situated on the freeway behind a pub we did not expect much and was very pleasantly surprised by the newness and cleanliness of the room. the downside is slow/weak internet and the bed isn’t as comfy. for short stays near footscray & sunshine where we needed to be we were very satisfied.

Given the location, the hotel was better and quieter than we expected. Thermostat on hot water was set too low, meaning we couldn't have a really hot shower. I understand the need to reduce scald risks etc but it's really unsatisfying and ultimately means staying in shower longer just trying to warm up, which is environmentally bad.

Good budget place to stay with friendly staff. If you want a place to stay overnight, it has what you need. My personal opinion, 9.2/10 star rating is too high for this motel. It is a basic, normal budget motel. When I left my room at 7:15 am on Sunday morning, a random guy in the carpark saw me coming out the room and asked for the code of the room which I just left. He said he is a cleaner for the motel. I said that he should get the code from the boss and he replied that they are not here now. I didn't give it to him but he kept asking for it. He also said to me that he came our of the pub - trying to convince me that he is a cleaner but he didn't have any cleaning equipment nor trolley to collect things. It looked very suspicious. To the owner of the business If he was the real cleaner, it is a very unprofessional thing to do and I felt very intimidated. You should talk to your cleaner stop asking for the code to the customer. If he was a random guy trying to get into the room, you should check about this guy. He could do some damage to your property or to your business.

Reception was very welcoming and happy to assist with my requests, Having a small light left on and air con going for my arrival at night was greatly appreciated. Although I didn’t use it, the option of having an evening meal brought to your room was a great idea. Lovely hot water and comfy bed. Plenty of parking space. Traffic was a little noticeable but ear plugs would be an easy fix.

Staff were absolutely lovely, and really accommodating. The room itself was clean and neat, no weird smells, and an aircon that works! The blind has gaps around the edges, so the room lit up very easily, and you definitely hear people talking in the car park. Considering location though, the traffic noise didn't bother me at all (my partner heard loud trucks every now and then). Absolutely recommend the pub for meals, great staff and delicious food (seriously, we're debating driving an hour and a bit just for the Mexican Parma hahaha). Oh, and there can be confusion with codes if you end up with a check out time after 10am, don't freak out tho, you get text a new code on the day!

We had everything we needed for an overnight stay at the Guiding Star motel. Easy check in and check out, rooms are very clean and fairly updated. For what we needed, it was perfect! A great location too - off the freeway from Ballarat side and close to the city.

Alt var meget godt rengjort og vedlikeholdt. Utvendig ser anlegget litt forfallent ut Parkering skjer i front av det enkelte rom (inkludert). This place is in a very accessible place in Melbourne. I checked in just as kitchen was about to close, staff very friendly made atmosphere feel welcoming. They made sure I got a very delicious meal and delivered to room as I had, a big drive getting there. Room already had Aircon going and it’s was a warm evening so to walk in to an already cooled down room was heaven. I stayed two nights was very affordable and convenient for me.

do not judge a book by its cover as is in this case. situated on the freeway behind a pub we did not expect much and was very pleasantly surprised by the newness and cleanliness of the room. the downside is slow/weak internet and the bed isn’t as comfy. for short stays near footscray & sunshine where we needed to be we were very satisfied.

Given the location, the hotel was better and quieter than we expected. Thermostat on hot water was set too low, meaning we couldn't have a really hot shower. I understand the need to reduce scald risks etc but it's really unsatisfying and ultimately means staying in shower longer just trying to warm up, which is environmentally bad.

Meals and presentation were excellent compliments to the chef, tried different meals each night of our stay 5star. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful as we were first time guests rapt that the staff remembered our drink preferences. Just learning our way around and had to come home. Would definitely recommend staying here again.

It was the perfect spot for a one night stay, the staff was friendly and helpful. We got really late and they were waiting for us, even though the restaurant was closed they let us eat there the food we ordered from Uber eats. Room was comfortable and clean.
