Songdo Blue Hotel

The reason we chose this hotel was the airport shuttle as we arrived at 4 am in Incheon airport and needed a place for a few hours of sleep. The hotel is small and old; the room is old. The best thing about the hotel is the proprietress who was so helpful (even though she did not speak English) and generous with the snacks. She helped us get a taxi to the station so we could get to our next destination.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hosts, despite not being able to speak English, were very hospitable and tried their best to respond to requests/questions quickly! They also provided lots of water and snacks for the hot weather. The room itself, is a good size and all of the facilities work well. The wallpaper is a bit whacky and peeling off in some areas, but overall, for the price it is great. The area has lots of convince stores but it can be difficult to get to more touristy areas like Seoul. Overall, it was fab and I would definitely stay again!

The room decor/furnishings are probably a bit too dated for many of today’s travelers, but they had all the amenities I needed for an overnight layover.

There is no longer Kerioke on the roof which previous reviews complained about. It was pleasantly quiet

The people were very nice and helpful, especially the lady at the front desk. When we first got there they gave us a snack and vitamin c drink. The only thing was they didn’t have full size body towels.

This property does not provide proper sanitation - bed sheets are stained and torn. I When I travelled with my family of 5, the property provided a room for me which can hold 5 beds but there was insufficient space for walking and opening of bags and luggage, which in turn results in a risk for falling. It has no central heating facility and is not suitable for staying during winter. Only the mattresses on the beds have warmers and you cannot expect yourself to stay on the bed permanently. The bathroom and toilets are ill-equipped and the water heater does not work. This is not a hotel but a love motel situated at the heart of night clubs, bars and prostitution. We booked our stay knowing that there would be no refund upon cancellation but it was so unbearable that we checked in and checked out within a few hours because we realised that we have been duped.

I’m not trying to be mean, but how else to explain the 70s decor and the escort cards that were scattered all over the parking lot and alleyway? Instead of complaining though, I’ll offer some friendly advice to the owners: (1) Remove all the personal items from the bathroom. I’m not using that bar of soap, nor the dental floss hanging on the towel rack. (2) The bathroom fixtures need to be spotless. Really. (3) Don’t use sheets on the bed with stains. I didn’t look under the bed cover; everything I needed to see was right there in full view. (4) Don’t advertise a “city view” when the rooms don’t even have windows. I’m not asking for my money back. This one is on me. I should also note the nearest bus stop is a long steep slog downhill, across severely cobbled streets and a rather nasty little collection of restaurants near the traffic circle. This appears to be an older section of Incheon. You’d do well to check out the area near Central Park. It’s much more modern and closer to several bus stops and the subway. And flat.

The hosts were wonderful! We really enjoyed the nice, clean rooms and the great hospitality.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the lady. The only issue for us is the smell of cigarette in the room and the corridor. I noticed that korean men smoke, they may smoke inside the room even they are not allowed.

Would only suggest public transportation routes, not walking routes. I didn’t get a chip for my phone. That may help. I got no phone reception on the street. Anywhere in Incheon.

The lady was exceptionally helpful and did things for us that was way above expectations. Suited our needs perfectly.

Unless shuttle bus is pre-booked you cannot use it.

The owner is an extremely pleasant lady, willing to help and make you feel confortable during your stay. The free airport shuttle is definitely a plus and an added convenience for us as we were traveling with kids in a foreign country
