This quaint throwback inn was refreshing. Not a lot of bells and whistles. However, those were not missed because the room was quiet for rest, substantial in space, outstanding view, and simply comfortable. In terms of cost it was more expensive than we normally prefer but definitely in line with other Cape Cod/Chatham properties. The staff and managers are outstanding. Grateful we stayed at The Hawthorne Inn.

You cannot beat this place for the friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but nothing beats the view. You are literally on the water. There is a private beach area; the grounds are beautifully kept; it is walking distance to everything and no need to keep up appearances - beach attire is just fine.

She was eating at the desk so not very professional. One picnic table near a dumpster. It is a 2 star motel - no restaurant, no pool, no activities. You are paying for Chatham location. Overall great service, clean rooms, nice location. Found an earwig in my shower one day so that wasn’t great but that can probably happen sporadically in a lot of places. The AC units could be a little over aggressive with the cooling but once you learned how to work it you could change it to the temperature you want. Main complaint is the blankets are kind of thin on the beds so it could get chilly.

Sadly our stay wasn’t the best. We found a bug in one of our bathroom towels and the walls are paper thin. However, it is a decent place to stay right on the water for a quick trip. The staff was friendly and the beach access was the best part.
