This "hotel" was a huge surprise upon arrival. The exterior is dated and not particularly appealing. My "first floor" room was basically a 1950s motel strip across the parking lot from the main building. While it had clearly been recently renovated, it still maintained the appearance of an old motel. It is located in an old downtown area which seemed to have more discount/dollar stores than anything else. My "breakfast" (included in the room) was a boxed meal that I was to pick up at the front desk when I wanted it. Overall, it was okay for an overnight while traveling, but as an older lady traveling alone, I would never recommend it to anyone who is not a seasoned traveler.

I had stayed here before and I could see that the owners have done a lot of work in the maintenance of the property and it's much nicer looking, not that it was bad before. In terms of the restaurant, the food is great! I've tried different dishes and they are always delicious. Keep it up!

This was by far the nicest place to stay in Mattawa for motels. The hotel is updated but still has most of its old charm so if you’re comparing it to hotels found in cities you’ll be disappointed but the washrooms are nice, shower had good pressure, bed was comfy and shaker A/C unit worked well. I had family staying at other locations in town and ours was superior. Keep in mind there is no elevator so if you have issues climbing stairs with your luggage you might want to ask the front desk when booking but overall we would stay here again when in town.

Nice continental breakfast, neat, clean and quiet. We called ahead since we knew we were going to get in really late and the front desk accommodated us with the code so we could get in and get to our room. Cute little town!

What a nice surprise! Checking waypoints on my trans-Canada solo motorcycle trip - - - I have to rely on reviews. Le Voyageur was nicely reviewed and and it nicely met my expectations. The he staff was cordial and responsive. The town doesn’t offer much - other than a couple of “dollar” stores, a weed and ice cream shop - - but the hotel had a nice restaurant with a pretty diverse and tasty menu.

When I book a hotel from Expedia, it says 62 km from Algonquin. But it is 279 km from this property. it’s so embarrassing. But all over the property is very good.

The property itself was very nice. It was clean and seemed to have had recent renovations and upgrades. The negative for us is that we were there midweek and on those days, the included breakfast is made the night before and put in the lobby refrigerator in a bag with your room number on it. In the morning when we went to retrieve our meal it was not there and there was no one at the desk.

Easy to check in and to check out restaurant downstairs is a Thai restaurant and the food is good. My room was cleaned. Microwave fridge coffee machine everything I needed. Bed was comfortable with the pillows.
