Monashee Motel

Very friendly and helpful. Clean and comfortable. You have to ask for ice, and a blow dryer. I don’t like having to ask for ice. It was pouring rain and there is no way to get to the front door to ask for ice without getting wet, and there’s no phone in the room to request ice. I also felt like I was disturbing the host having to ring the front bell. But ice was delivered within 10 minutes to my door.

Very impressed, will stay here again. Lots of nice park area for the dogs. Very clean large room . Great beds and awesome pillows.just a great place all around.

Furnishings are reasonable. Not high end but functional and clean. Had clean linemen laid out nicely for us. Very comfortable beds. Little mini kitchen was nice to have. Pretty good for the price.

Quick easy check in, comfortable bed. Good water pressure in the shower and lots of hot water. Had fridge, micro and coffee maker. Older motel but clean, nice t.v. Suited our needs.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful, room was excellent. The motel is a bit dated but that adds to the charm. Very clean and a great patio and green lawn to sit and relax on. Will definitely be back

Great spot! The yard was a lovely addition to the property. We spent the evening on the swing chatting, in the morning we picked plums from the trees. This property has great potential for a community space, making the motel very welcoming. The host at the front desk was so friendly and full of information. I would recommend the Monashee Motel to anyone passing through Sicamous!

Great value for the cost and a nice little find for our family with young kids heading back to the West Coast. The owner was very friendly (and so were the other guests for that matter!). The building is two stories, ten rooms per floor. Each room has a balcony and window in the bathroom. Microwave and mini fridge were great but bring your own dishes. Will stay again!

The room hadn’t been cleaned. The beds weren’t made. Towels were left on the floor. It was too late to change the room

This hotel was absolutely filthy. The cupboards were covered in dirt and grime. The towels were not changed and had chunks of who knows what on them. The backsplash and up the mirror was splattered with dried spit up toothpaste. I wiped the floor with a piece of toilet paper and it came up black. When we first arrived at the hotel in the afternoon they said they hadn't finished cleaning the room but that we could put our bags in the room as we were leaving to do activities. It was after midnight when we arrived back to the hotel. I started to brush my teeth and began gagging because of the used toothpaste backsplatter in the sink. At this point I was so disgusted I went out and slept in my car. I gave the hotel the courtesy off not waking them up in the middle of the night and dealing with it in the morning. The manager came and checked the room, said it was chunks of dried paint on the backsplash and that the cupboards just needed painting. He offered me another room which I declined. My stomach was so turned off with the thought of their cleaning standards that I could not stay there at all. He reluctantly agreed to refund me but said I'd have to go through Expedia as that was my booking platform. Once I got home I went through the refund process, when Expedia contacted the hotel they denied a refund. So i was fully charged for a weekend of sleeping in my car since it was a long weekend and we weren't able to find another hotel room.

Room was clean and comfortable. Convenient location near highway. Room was quiet after early evening commuter traffic ended.

Clean room, clean towels, kind staff

Check in was quick and friendly. Outside staircase was covered in cigarette buts and used chew pouches. Room was dusty and had sunflower seeds was trash under beds. Dirty handprints on the walls, no towel racks.

Excellent for lower price hotel. The rooms are clean fresh soft towels. I especially like motels, cause you can walk straight out to your vehicle.

Cozy clean place to stay. Nice,clean rooms and bathroom. Comfortable beds and pillow. It is a great deal for your pocket as well.

A good location to stay for a nite when driving through Staff was nice and the unit was updated with a huge television screen We had trouble with the heat staying on Gentleman turned the breaker on when it failed prior to sleep but then it went off at 3am which we woke up shivering and restarted the thermostat For this instability of heat in mid winter we don’t believe we would take a chance again

Welcome overnight stop on a long road trip. Room was on second floor and there was highway noise; probably quieter on 1st

Reception was great. Rooms are old and rundown. AC was off when we got there and never did cool the room so it was really stuffy. We had wasps stuck in the sheets (glad we brought our own bedding). Lamps are for show and don't actually work. Beds were uncomfortable but it was better than sleeping in our car.

Room was very clean and tidy, two fully seperate set of towels. Comfy memory foam beds and using memory foam pillows as well. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Will stay here again!

This place is a bit older, with some lipstick repairs here and there. Many things were stuck, squeaky, loose, or in slight disrepair. One big plus (1 star) is the beds were quite comfortable. The carpet also seemed new and clean (1 star). The price was right (1 star) but the location was just okay. It's across the highway from a truckstop, and just far enough from town that you think you've driven past your hotel. Staff were laconic but accommodating. Overall, a decent hotel. I would stay here again.

Very dated, however every clean hotel. Bed was very comfortable and upgraded. Sheets were also comfortable and clean. Hotel staff were extremely kind

We had a great stay in room 2. The bed and pillows were very comfy. The TV was huge and had netflix. Was a great place to relax for a night on drive back to Alberta.

I booked the hotel by accident (not realizing I had past it 45 minutes earlier), call immediately to inform them that I was too far and now stuck behind a rather large accident and if they could cancel the booking. Booking made at 11:55 PM. The person that answered the phone said it would have to be dealt with in the morning. I asked Hotels.com to intervene and again the hotel rejected the cancellation. It is quite sad to see a lack of understanding. I guess I now understand why the rating for this hotel is the lowest I. The town.

Wonderfully friendly people. Felt like they were happy to see us arrive. Check in was quick & they bothered to know who they were waiting for to arrive. I said my last name & they used my first without looking it up. They are making improvements but it’s very clean & everything worked great. I think they will make it a really great place to stay with extra amenities

It was good value, clean, and most importantly allows pets. Perfect stop on my way to Calgary. Only two small things. Heat didn't work, which was just a breaker, but getting ahold of someone at front desk took 7 attempts. I wouldn't choose this hotel as a vacation spot, but as a quick stopover its great.

Evelyn, in Housekeeping, was especially helpful to us. I asked her if there was ice available. She told me that there was no ice machine, but that they might have some in the office.When I told her the office was locked, she walked with me, in the heat, all the way from the housekeeping office to the main office to try to find ice. In the end, none was available, but it is important for the ownership to know about extra efforts such as these that are extended by an employee. Evelyn was also very personable and cheerful. Housekeeping is a labour-intensive job and when a company has found such an excellent employee, I can only hope that she is paid well and that she gets regular raises in her pay. I believe that Evelyn deserves special recognition for being an ambassador for your company. The man who checked us in was also very cheerful and kind. That is much appreciated, especialy when one arrives late at night, as we did. Lastly, we had a wonderful sleep. The memory foam pillows are amazing! Sincerely, Sheila Tousignant 403-354-2684

We had a great experience at Monashee Motel. The owners were very accommodating and our room and the grounds were very well kept!

The owner Kash was very kind. He upgraded my room to ground floor to make it easier to accommodate my pups. Beautiful sitting area under the giant silver willow. Nice chairs outside the patio door to my room. Well equipped basic kitchen setup. Keurig, microwave, hotplate, small fridge, toaster, dishes and cutlery. Amazingly comfortable mattress on the one bed. I will stay there again.

Easy location, great service, comfy bed!

Have stayed at the Monashee for 30+ years. Loved that it was quiet and not far from the dairy but the hwy has become so busy it is very difficult getting in and out.

The gentleman at the front desk helped me park my 48ft trailer. Check in was super easy and there is a beautiful field right next door I can let my dog run in! Really convenient and a nicely kept property. I’m going to stay another night!

We appreciated that this place was just off the hiway and easy to find. We just needed a place to sleep and this didn't disappoint. Reasonable rates and parking in front of the door and easy to leave in the morning. Decent beds and clean rooms with a patio door with chairs outside. Very convenient.

Quiet, unassuming basic room very easy access to the highway.

Location was excellent for our trip. The management went out of their way to accommodate our arrival time and other requests. We were not too surprised as Monashee Motel was highly recommended to us by trusted family members who also stayed there recently.
