Great stay in the guest house. Quiet clean room, nice bathrooms, well organized. More like a B&B as the staff is mostly running the pub and there's not a concierge or anything fancy. It's a fine place to stay though and on a great street with lots to do within walking distance (plus grocery stores, pharmacy, etc). The managers here do an especially great job and we're very helpful. We also ate dinner here and it was fantastic.

The room was a bit dark but perfectly adequate and had all the usual amenities-tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, water and toiletries. The atmosphere and decor in the bar was really great and the food was exceptional-this is what you should come for!

The accommodation was fine. The attached restaurant was very good. My only complaint is that they advertise free parking on site on Orbitz and that is seemingly no longer the case…. They have replaced their parking lot with picnic benches. I did manage to find parking on the street and had no issues but would probably not have booked here if I had known parking was not on site and included.

Very characterful property in the main bar & restaurant. The guest area was very tastefully decorated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay ar this property & would highly recommend it

The food here is excellent, so it was great to be able to eat here. The access is separate from the bar which adds to the quietness. Parking was a bit hit or miss on the street, although there is a car park nearby.

We where given room 1 not worth the money very poor and i terrible smell from bathroom we really should have went downstairs to bar and ask to move but we had been driving for so long and just wanted to rest before getting something to eat in the morning I mentioned to the girl that how bad the room was and the smell but the room so small and definitely not worth the money they take but the breakfast was lovely and the staff are very nice

I was unsure about this stay when I first saw it as it looked like a pub but was pleasantly surprised! The host was awesome and the room spacious, attractive and very clean. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent! Bathroom was tiny but well-appointed. E had a great nights rest and a beautiful view!

There was no one available to let us into the room when we arrived. There was no hot water the first night though it was working fine the next two days. The internet connection is terrible. The room is so small I could barely get past my spouse.

Booked this place based on other guest's rating. Disappointed. There is no private parking. Had to park the car on the street. Room is very noisy, not very clean, worse than a 2 star BnB. Only thing worth a 4 star was breakfast. Staff were friendly though.

This is a strange hotel. It's above a bar (never again) and very old. The manger showed us to our room and said I know it's really loud because of the surfing festival, but I promise you that our music will shut off promptly at 10 pm. The bass from the music was making our walls vibrate and shake. For 60plus travelers-not good. 10:30, place was still packed and blasting music. I call, manager says he sorry, but hopefull will stop soon. It did but@ 11pm, but quickly fround out that every noise anyone makes carries through the whole place. Couple arguing at 5:30 am, toliets that I think are old incenerator ones! My GOD, I couldn't wait to get out of there! They added a few updated items -cool mirror. Thats about it. They post signs all over the place that booking .com gives them 9/10-I call bull sh**!

We found Madden's Bar and Guest house excellent. Staff very welcoming and courteous and very helpful. Fabulous breakfast all other was excellent, big choice of draught largers, beers and ciders. Rooms very clean, tidy and comfortable would highly recommend.

Maddens listened to our requests and fulfilled them to the T...from choice of room to choice of table for dinner to recommendations for drinks. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

We did not order breakfast. So does not apply. Overall, very friendly and efficient and honest. Bill dropped a Euro 50 on the floor at our table. Daniel brought it to us and slipped it under the door. Much appreciated. Nice place. Great people.

The weather was hot and no Air Conditioner, so we left the window open. There was a strong odor that made it hard for both of us to sleep. Also, on Expedia, we signed up for a full breakfast. When we arrived, the hotel said it had no record of our request for breakfast. We ate dinner at their restaurant. The food was good, However, it was the only restaurant that we found in Ireland that put a Mandatory Tip (10%) on the bill for our meal. Otherwise the property was quaint and comfortable. The staff was friendly.
