There is no elevator so be aware that you are going to lug your own suitcases up 12 chairs and 2 landings. Very old hotel with musty smell. Dining room was good food .

In all of the times I have stayed here, this trip was a bit of a disappointment, due to the pub/restaurant being closed, due to a non-functioning kitchen hood. Not their fault, and service was as excellent as usual, just unfortunate that I had to leave the property to eat!

This hotel is definitely showing its age. The walls are thin and you can hear people in the hallways. Nice place to have breakfast in the restaurant and nice meals in the lounge. Be aware that the restaurant and lounge are not open on Sundays or Mondays.

We were surprised to learn there was no elevator after we were assigned a second floor room. For us, as a young family, we were ok to climb the stairs with our suitcases. But if this is the situation, guests should be given the option to select a ground level floor or at least offer staff who can carry the bags up for guests who may not be able to handle that. We had a family room, which was very spacious which we liked. It had 2 beds plus a pull out couch, chair, and plenty of floor space besides. However, everything is very old. And while I understand that the building itself is old, there are simple upgrades that could improve the quality. For example, the carpet should be removed, the bathtub has chips in it, the sheets on the beds are pilling and dingy which shows their age, the toilet struggles to flush.

Smoking was not allowed within 50 feet. The key to the door kept having to be recalibrated because of old technology. The dining room was fantastic.

It was clean and staff were great. The hotel is very dated. Water pressure in the shower was like getting sprayed with a fire hose. There was also giant red light bulb in the shower that is apparently a heat lamp but I was strange.

We were given a different room than what paid for and wasn’t even given the option for the room we paid for which we were okay with letting it slide. We found someones belongings in the room, obviously it wasn’t cleaned properly. The room is dirty and the smart tv won’t work for any apps. The bathroom is nasty and the K cup machine is dirty so we couldn’t use it. Highly disappointed and won’t be back. Absolutely disgusting.

Older hotel but clean. Rooms are dated. Ate in the pub and food was pretty good. Staff were very low key at checkin and restaurant. Rooms have no mini fridge and uncomfortable flat small pillows on the bed. Also no soap in bathroom. Overall it’s adequate and clean.

The didn’t have hand soap in the bathroom. The plug for the bathtub was moldy, there was hair all over our bathroom floor. The beds were so uncomfortable, I could feel the springs under my back. The pillows were very flat and the AC was broken. There’s very poor air flow in the room so we were very uncomfortable and too warm at night.

There was mold in the tub and what looked like blood splattered all over the roof of the room. The ice machine was broken, and the vending machine was out of stock. Honestly a horrible stay for nearly $200

On the plus side, the front desk although busy checking people in, was accommodating and helpful. On the downside: It needed a better clean. It’s clear that a deep clean has not been done is a long time. There were stains on the grout in the shower, dirt and dust on and behind the chair, the sheets and pillows need to be replaced (lumpy pillow and worn out sheets). Also not sure why it’s called a “resort”.

The heater in the room was VERY loud when cutting in every 30 minutes or so. It obviously had some kind of mechanical issue. The loud heater prevented me from getting a good night sleep.

The staff were helpful and professional. The room was clean but the shower had low water pressure and an outdated shower head that Needs replacing . I was disappointed that there wasn't a refrigerator or microwave in the room. This was very inconvenient. I've never been in a hotel room before that didn't at least have a refrigerator. There's a alot of parking which was great.

Arrived at hotel. Walked in. Three staff members ignored us for five minutes. Once their conversation ended they then interacted with us. I reserved a room, pictured on expedia, for 200+ canadian. There are two buildings for this hotel comples. The main building must be for those deemed higher caste. The clerk assigned us a room in an alternate building across the Trans Canada Highway(TCH). I assume for lower caste individuals. The building reminded me of a run down remnant from the 1950s. We traveled across the TCH and inspected the assigned room location. The building location did not look safe: hidden in trees, lighting issues, and general unkempt appearance. We turned around and crossed theTCH and returned the key card and told the clerk(s) that we are not staying. We left and drove to Clarenville, Nl, a three hour drive, there were no rooms in Gander, Nl. We had to pay a little over three hundred dollars for a clean, safe, and well lighted room and building. What we learned--read the reviews, pay for rental insurance to be able to cancel the reservation, and stay in national chain hotels where one knows what resources are available for lighting, safety, and building location.

Priscilla at the front desk was friendly and SUPER helpful. When we had inadvertently booked a 1 King room but needed 2 Queens she quickly upgraded us to an available room at no extra charge! We were also able to get a light bulb replaced and sink clog fixed in mere minutes. All staff super helpful and accommodating. Well done!

Extremely long wait for food (over an hour for a burger and fries) and had to leave early before it was even served. Waitress said kitchen was backed up and she “should have warned us”, as we were with a very hungry and tired toddler. Bed was rock hard and bath water was brown. At the end of the trip I attempted to call front desk for assistance with my bags and after 40 minutes of calling, I was forced to go down myself to ask for assistance.will not be returning.

We had other guest trying to enter our room after midnight while banging on the door and yelling out cause they couldn’t get in the room that the front desk gave them, when front desk called the room at 1255am, I answered “hello” they never announced who they were and all they said was “who is this”. Very unprofessional. The television never worked, bathtub leaked and to make matters worse we had a 10 month old baby with us.

This is apparently the best hotel in Grandfalls Windsor. It was not the best hotel I've stayed in, but also not the worst. Biggest issue was the front desk staff didn't understand how the Expedia booking worked and told me the wrong information leading me to have to have two holds on my card. This is partially Expedia's fault for not allowing alterations to prepaid bookings. The hotel itelself feels very old, and although it appears to have had some cosmetic renovations it still feels like more could be done. Better lighting might help.

Unfortunately we were located across the hwy. from the main hotel. This location is opened to noisy guests whom elect to sit outside in front of the rooms until 10pm. Not bad for travellers not looking to get a rest when they arrive but terrible for others who have had long days travelling. Also in our case we had a motorcycle parked in front of our door so you can invision what issues this created. Of all the hotels we stayed in across Nfld this would rank as the lowest.

Because we used the app to book apparently we are placed in a motel shaped building on the other side of the trans canada highway 1. they check me in mask where elevators are as i am level3 they don’t answer i go up with all my luggage on the stairs no level 3 i come back and they just stare at me… finally i ask where am i to go he just says across the high you booked on line… i would have NEVER figured out i had to get back in a cab go across 4 lanes of a highway and around to a dark area. Very strange. not easy and staff was of zero help. paper thin walls woke up to neighbours alarms 6 times very clearly and bathroom toilet water loud and running

Alongside the TCH it is easy to access for an overnight stay. The hotel restaurant was attractive and welcoming with a good menu. (We just used it for breakfast.) The hotel is older, the furnishings too, but the rooms were very clean and accommodating.

Stayed here once before. I knew this hotel was dated but they had excellent food then. Definitely not the same now. Our first supper was ok. The second supper was discussing. A twelve yr old could have cooked a better meal. I do not recommend.

The kitchen was closed and we were not advised. Room was clean. Bathroom very dated but still clean. Hall and stair carpet was vey dirty and not cleaned during our 3 days there. Staff came with fresh towels and took garbage but that was it.
