After an awkward initial conversation with my host caused by poor communication through hotels.com, and me arriving at a slightly inconvenient time, everything worked out fine. The apartment is a little dated but has everything you need. There is no parking on site but on street parking is available nearby (up the hill!) and very well connected by frequent buses into the centre of the beautiful old town. I only stayed one night but it was ideal for that brief visit. If you like Riesling and Currywurst, it's the perfect place to start a pilgrimage up the Mosel.

The apartment was functional, though rather worn out. Communication with the owner included long messages with instructions beforehand - rather than being shown how to settle in, we received written instructions on how to turn on the fridge and how to clean up afterwards. This was neither very clear nor welcoming. Other than that, our stay went well.
