It was quite easy to reach. Metro L1 is right next to it. The plaza Catalan is 3 bus stop away. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the vicinity. When we first arrived at the gate, we were a bit confused since there was no instruction on how to enter. Then I just pressed the ring button, the reception let us in. There were labels next to the elevator buttons. The rest is easy. The only complaint I have is the room door was a bit flimsy. You can hear anything in the hallway and from other rooms when a baby start to cry or someone raised voice. But we were so tired of walking the city, we fell in sleep quite easily.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Hostal Live; check-in was a breeze though we had to download an app to open doors using bluetooth; very green - but yet another app on the phone and greater reliance on having the phone, battery and know-how. The receptionist at check-in was extremely friendly and pleasant though unfortunately handed over to a much more disinterested male colleague in the evening. The size of the accommodation was very pleasing, with a comfortable bedroom, huge inward facing terrace and spacious bathroom; very unusual for Barcelona. Unfortunately - and it is always hit-or-miss; the bed was not really very comfortable and felt like lying on the edge of a convex mattress - but then we all have differing needs for mattresses so it's pretty hard to criticise. Overall a very good choice for the Eixample area with good Tapas and Breakfast bars less than a block away. Recommended.

Buena estancia. Habitación cómoda, la zona bien conectada por el metro que está a pocos pasos del hostal. Buen aire acondicionado, si bien no usamos la terraza se ve agradable y amplia. Hay ascensor que te lleva a la recepción, para llegar a tu habitación debes subir unos 3 o 6 escalones si estás en el primer nivel. El acceso y los pasillos son estrechos, las zonas comunes pequeñas. Pero la relación precio/calidad es buena considerando que Barcelona es una ciudad cara. A destacar la automatización para el acceso al hotel desde la calle, a la puerta interna y a tu habitación, todo se realiza a través de un app y resulta bastante cómodo.

This is one floor of a traditional residential property on a main street in Barcelona. The location is fantastic. Access is granted via an app so you need to have a reliable mobile phone with no battery issues and good bluetooth - take note! No physical keys are issued. Staff were amazing - there is reception onsite most of the day and late into the evening, all speak English and will help you with everything. The room is really big and bed is very comfortable - I had a massive terrace with mine. Rooms are cleaned daily. There is a comfortable desk for working. No fridge in the room. Shower and hand soap and shampoo provided. The only negative point is that there is not much soundproofing - so you hear every noise in the hallway and they hear you - no feeling of privacy. Otherwise, no complaints. I would recommend this place to my friends who are traveling for work or just need a comfortable room without paying for the hotel extras - there is no bar, restaurant, pool, etc.

Very clean and specious room and terrace. Materace great quality. Locacion is perfect and there are markets, restaurants and metro sration very close by. If you have late flight, no worries, they will keep your luggage safe. Lockers available. Great place to stay! Highly recommended!

Rooms just as shown in photos.Very clean. Little fridge was a bonus. Our room didn't overlook the main road so was quiet, but imagine those facing street could be noisy, as very busy road. Not far to walk to places. Great transport links. Decent cafes near if you don't want hotel breakfast. Don't be put off by first impressions when you arrive - you buzz for reception, then entrance is just a dark hallway - upstairs to reception. Luggage stored free if needed. Free wifi. Staff quiet but helpful when needed.

Es un hotel que está en un edificio en el segundo piso desde afuera solo tiene una puerta de reja muy segura y se abre por medio de clave en tu teléfono , cuenta con elevador y escaleras , al llegar te dan los código de acceso de las puertas , el personal super amable y atentos para lo que se ofrezca , hay una tienda para bebidas y alimentos afuera y ponaderia con café también , en la esquina izquierda está la parada de taxis muy conveniente ! El cuarto muy limpio y amplio con buen aire acondicionado y buena ducha el baño . Todo muy bien por el precio . Está muy bien si no eres de los que quiere un hotel con fachada bonita y elegante si no que te importe estar cómodo con buenas camas y todos los servicios necesarios para una buena estancia con limpieza y habitación bonita y muy limpia !

The location of the hotel was very convenient to public transport and landmarks, it was a good distance from the more crowded and loud areas which was important for my sleep. The room itself had been updated and was very clean and tidy. All the necessities covered. The beds and pillows were comfortable. It was good value for money.

I will start with the positive - good location and only 15 minute walk to La Rambla. Lots of supermarkets, laundromat and even a cinema nearby. The room itself was terrible. Mould in all the corners and in between the tiles in the bathroom. Dated and old and certainly not worth the $330 we paid per night. Whenever one of us showered the bathroom floor had water everywhere. The lady at reception was lovely and helpful but this is not worth the money we paid.

20 mins on the aerobus A2 from the airport The hotel is in the most convenient location for everything and yet in a quiet out of the way location for a quiet night. Room was clean and has everything you need , perfect for a short stay. And the balcony is a bonus. Staff were brilliant too. Would defo recommend.

10/10 recommend! We had the room with a terrace and it was lovely. Travelling with a 9 month old and was very infant friendly - the terrace allowed mom and dad to unwind with a glass of wine once she was asleep! Location was also super convenient to get to all the hot spots but wasn’t super busy or loud. Very impressed and would absolutely go back!

Hotel für ein Wochenendtrip sehr zu empfehlen, jedoch waren wir 5 Nächte und dafür ist das Zimmer etwas zu klein wenn man dann mal einen Abend auf dem Zimmer verbringt. Zimmer war außerdem zur Hauptverkehrsstraße hin und daher sehr laut da das Gebäude schlecht isoliert ist. Man spürt auch die U-Bahn die unter einem durch fährt, was ich persönlich als nicht schlimm empfand. Hatten einen schnuckeligen kleinen Balkon aber aufgrund des Lärms durch den Verkehr kann man sich kaum unterhalten. Lage ist sehr gut, 10 Minuten zu Fuß vom Plaça Cataluña und nahe an der U-Bahn Station. Busverbindungen sind auch gut und eine Haltestelle nur einen Block weiter. Ebenso hält der Airportbus vom Flughafen kommend direkt vor der Tür, Abfahrt ist jedoch eine Parallelstraße weiter. Bett ist für wenige Nächte in Ordnung und die Dusche ich verhältnismäßig groß. Das Personal ist stets bemüht. Die Putzdamen haben versehentlich mein Schlaf T-Shirt mit in die Wäsche getan, als sie das Bett abgezogen haben. Nach Reklamation war es aber einen Tag später wieder aus der Wäscherei zurück. Also das Personal ist auf jeden Fall bemüht, Fehler auszubügeln, sollten welche passieren. Alles in Allem kann ich das Hotel weiter empfehlen. Preis-/Leistung ist auf jeden Fall unschlagbar.

But the negatives include a rather sterile room with thin walls (we could hear other lodgers in adjoining rooms), a somewhat shabby and cramped feeling overall to the lobby and hallways, and all of this was sadly underscored by the inner courtyard of the building, which itself was in poor condition. Early on Sunday morning we could hear a couple of drug addicts arguing who had camped out under the balcony of our room — a rather bleak (and disruptive) way of starting the day. For the price point, one can do much better for this area of town, even on a weekend.

We didn’t get the room we booked. Instead of a big room we got a very small room with a balcony but the balcony was in a backyard and covers with a wall. No fresh air or light. Also the guy at the reception was very rude and did not care. I want my money back. Instead of this case the room was clean and and quite normal.

The room was clean, but very sparse on everything else. We had to ask for a TV remote and there was no ice in the room. The patio looked out at a very sad building. The front desk had different directions on how to catch our cab.

This is one floor of a traditional residential property on a main street in Barcelona. The location is fantastic. Access is granted via an app so you need to have a reliable mobile phone with no battery issues and good bluetooth - take note! No physical keys are issued. Staff were amazing - there is reception onsite most of the day and late into the evening, all speak English and will help you with everything. The room is really big and bed is very comfortable - I had a massive terrace with mine. Rooms are cleaned daily. There is a comfortable desk for working. No fridge in the room. Shower and hand soap and shampoo provided. The only negative point is that there is not much soundproofing - so you hear every noise in the hallway and they hear you - no feeling of privacy. Otherwise, no complaints. I would recommend this place to my friends who are traveling for work or just need a comfortable room without paying for the hotel extras - there is no bar, restaurant, pool, etc.

Not far to walk to places. Great transport links. Decent cafes near if you don't want hotel breakfast. Don't be put off by first impressions when you arrive - you buzz for reception, then entrance is just a dark hallway - upstairs to reception. Luggage stored free if needed. Free wifi. Staff quiet but helpful when needed.

Except with one staff, it was not good customer service. It's a pain to get on the property. It has several codes to deal with. They gave us a handicapped room that we didn't request by the lobby, which was very noisy. The hallway is dark, and the entrance is very dirty. I'll not recommend this place.

We didn’t get the room we booked. Instead of a big room we got a very small room with a balcony but the balcony was in a backyard and covers with a wall. No fresh air or light. Also the guy at the reception was very rude and did not care. I want my money back. Instead of this case the room was clean and and quite normal.

Excelente ubicación del hostal, cerca a todos los sitios más turisticos del centro dé Barcelona, en zona segura y con fácil acceso al transporte publico. Él personal siempre estuvo atentos a solventarnos necedades nuestras, como una cama extra, llamar a un taxi y realizar facilmente la devolucion dé un cargo qué no aplicaba. Muy satisfecho con relacion precio y comodidad obtenida.

Es un hotel que está en un edificio en el segundo piso desde afuera solo tiene una puerta de reja muy segura y se abre por medio de clave en tu teléfono , cuenta con elevador y escaleras , al llegar te dan los código de acceso de las puertas , el personal super amable y atentos para lo que se ofrezca , hay una tienda para bebidas y alimentos afuera y ponaderia con café también , en la esquina izquierda está la parada de taxis muy conveniente ! El cuarto muy limpio y amplio con buen aire acondicionado y buena ducha el baño . Todo muy bien por el precio . Está muy bien si no eres de los que quiere un hotel con fachada bonita y elegante si no que te importe estar cómodo con buenas camas y todos los servicios necesarios para una buena estancia con limpieza y habitación bonita y muy limpia !

It was quite easy to reach. Metro L1 is right next to it. The plaza Catalan is 3 bus stop away. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the vicinity. When we first arrived at the gate, we were a bit confused since there was no instruction on how to enter. Then I just pressed the ring button, the reception let us in. There were labels next to the elevator buttons. The rest is easy. The only complaint I have is the room door was a bit flimsy. You can hear anything in the hallway and from other rooms when a baby start to cry or someone raised voice. But we were so tired of walking the city, we fell in sleep quite easily.

Hotel für ein Wochenendtrip sehr zu empfehlen, jedoch waren wir 5 Nächte und dafür ist das Zimmer etwas zu klein wenn man dann mal einen Abend auf dem Zimmer verbringt. Zimmer war außerdem zur Hauptverkehrsstraße hin und daher sehr laut da das Gebäude schlecht isoliert ist. Man spürt auch die U-Bahn die unter einem durch fährt, was ich persönlich als nicht schlimm empfand. Hatten einen schnuckeligen kleinen Balkon aber aufgrund des Lärms durch den Verkehr kann man sich kaum unterhalten. Lage ist sehr gut, 10 Minuten zu Fuß vom Plaça Cataluña und nahe an der U-Bahn Station. Busverbindungen sind auch gut und eine Haltestelle nur einen Block weiter. Ebenso hält der Airportbus vom Flughafen kommend direkt vor der Tür, Abfahrt ist jedoch eine Parallelstraße weiter. Bett ist für wenige Nächte in Ordnung und die Dusche ich verhältnismäßig groß. Das Personal ist stets bemüht. Die Putzdamen haben versehentlich mein Schlaf T-Shirt mit in die Wäsche getan, als sie das Bett abgezogen haben. Nach Reklamation war es aber einen Tag später wieder aus der Wäscherei zurück. Also das Personal ist auf jeden Fall bemüht, Fehler auszubügeln, sollten welche passieren. Alles in Allem kann ich das Hotel weiter empfehlen. Preis-/Leistung ist auf jeden Fall unschlagbar.

O hostal tem uma ótima localização. Adoramos a vizinhança, principalmente para um casal gay. Tem feirinha de artesanatos, restaurantes, cafés e mercados abertos 24 horas. E é ao lado do metrô. O quarto tem ótima instalação e o banheiro também é adequado. O único detalhe negativo é que os hóspedes precisam solicitar a limpeza do quarto, sob pena de não ser realizada.

20 mins on the aerobus A2 from the airport The hotel is in the most convenient location for everything and yet in a quiet out of the way location for a quiet night. Room was clean and has everything you need , perfect for a short stay. And the balcony is a bonus. Staff were brilliant too. Would defo recommend.

Für einen Kurztrip völlig in Ordnung. Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel in der Nähe. Es gibt ein kleines Café 3 Häuser weiter, wo man einen leckeren Café und belegte Baguettes bekommt. Wir hatten 4 wunderschöne Tage in Barcelona.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Hostal Live; check-in was a breeze though we had to download an app to open doors using bluetooth; very green - but yet another app on the phone and greater reliance on having the phone, battery and know-how. The receptionist at check-in was extremely friendly and pleasant though unfortunately handed over to a much more disinterested male colleague in the evening. The size of the accommodation was very pleasing, with a comfortable bedroom, huge inward facing terrace and spacious bathroom; very unusual for Barcelona. Unfortunately - and it is always hit-or-miss; the bed was not really very comfortable and felt like lying on the edge of a convex mattress - but then we all have differing needs for mattresses so it's pretty hard to criticise. Overall a very good choice for the Eixample area with good Tapas and Breakfast bars less than a block away. Recommended.

Plutot propre, mais nous avons eu une chambre dans le hall d'entree , de fait etant tres sensible au bruit ce fut pour moi tres deconvenant... pas de support pour poser les affaires dans la salle de bain, mais adapté aux personnes a mobilote reduite du coup. Pas de service de petit dejeuner... climatisation fonctionnelle , petit refrigerateur fonctionnel, et personnel aimable. Merci

We were late getting to breakfast so choices were limited. Having said that, however, the receptionist at the time was very accommodating. Entrance was visible but difficult to access. We experienced an unpleasant experience, staff were very helpful and supportive. We enjoyed the private terrace.

Terrible Stay, needed to change hotels on the first day. Was locked out of Hotel for several hours with other guests after check in due to their electronic lock failing. This was a known issue from multiple signs on the door saying the lock can get stuck. Property manager did not have a master key to get into hotel. We called the local police and said they cannot help us either. Access to medicine, passports and other personal items in the room was blocked until ~2am. The key to the upstairs bathroom somehow was not found as well. Suddenly the lock started to work again...very sketchy experience. Hotel refused refund claiming this issue was not their fault (just a tip: they should maintain their locks and have a mechanical master key for backup). Hotel also is refusing refund for multiple nights we didnt even stay there for. This hotel should be on a do not travel list from the US Embassy. Do not stay here!
