The property is historic so if you appreciate history you will love the hotel. It is beautiful, but old for example you open your door with a physical key. The room layouts are a little odd compared to how hotel rooms are laid out now. Overall I think it is a great hotel. If you opt to walk back to your hotel from dinner or being out some of the routes, I would suggest being more alert. It’s not unsafe but is quiet and dark. The staff was super helpful overall. I wish we had more time to take advantage of the hotel spa and restaurants.

The hotel was just beautiful from the minute you came through the gate. The views were stunning and pool, bar, terrace, restaurant and all the tram were just fabulous. Service was brilliant yet unobtrusive. I’m not a fan of a breakfast buffet but have to say it was very well done, maintained and options were excellent for all tastes. Restaurant was stunning in the evening as sun went down in the terrace. The airport transfer was seemless, would highly recommend. Thank you all for a gorgeous stay, we never go back to the same place as feel the world is such a big place but we will definitely come back here!

This stunning boutique hotel has gorgeous, surprisingly spacious rooms, exceptional views and delicious food. There is easy access to a tram that takes you right to the city center. It was a hot day when we arrived, after a long day of travel, so lounging at the picturesque pool with a glass of sparkling wine was how we spent our time here.

The location was great. The construction noise was terrible and woke us up each morning. Our door would not properly close or lock which left us uneasy and we had to ask for a fan because the room was hot. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was plentiful. Not exceptional, but adequate.

Loved it! So enchanting, but a bit far from downtown. Loved the spa! Beyond exceptional! The therapist was spectacular! I was so relaxed! I would have gone more but didn’t have enough time! I will return! The front desk staff was fantastic… the tour was insightful and added a quaint touch.

An oasis in the heart of the City. Elegant, mixing what you expect from a palace with modern amenities. Dining patio overlooking the City, pool and gardens. Very private. Great food. Funicular steps away. Very professional courteous staff. Just excellent.

This is an absolute gem in Lisbon. The hotel is beautiful. A collection of charming, rustic buildings, but with all the modern comforts and amenities. The location is incredible, with stunning views of Lisbon and yet close enough to easily get around. The pool was the perfect oasis of calm to visit after of a busy day of sight-seeing and all of the staff were very attentive. I also recommend visiting 2monkeys if you get the chance for an amazing dining experience.

Our stay of 4 nights at the Torel Palace in Lisbon has been absolutely glorious and exquisite. The hotel in itself is a treat to look at, classic architecture, beautiful design all over, incredible views, gorgeous gardens. They are doing some remodeling work at the moment, which in all honesty did not interfere with our stay one bit. We cannot wait to come back and see what everything looks like after they are finished. The team there were all absolutely helpful and kind, spoke perfect English, in addition to many other languages. Their black pavillion, their restaurant, is a gorgeous sunroom with fantastic views of the city and delicious food. We got upgraded to their penthouse, a whole apartment for us, exquisitely decorated, impeccably clean, with everything that one would need for a trip to Lisbon. This has been hands down one of the best experiences ever thanks to all the crew at the hotel, and we travel extensively. Thanks to everyone at Torel Palace, you guys have made this a super special trip, we cannot wait to come back, and we will without a doubt stay with you guys again.

Where do I begin.. the place is absolutely incredible and luxurious. Getting there is another story. Parking is sketchy and they didn't really tell us we could park inside, but if you can make sure it's a VERY small car because it's tight. The room is beautifully decorated and has a nice kitchen area, table for 4, dishwasher, microwave, oven plates and cookware. The bed was one of the most comfortable and the memory foam pillows, well, now I have to get myself one because it was fabulous. The shower is an experience in itself. Best shower ever, super hot, great pressure and 4 different shower orientations including the overhead rain shower.. FANTASTIC! The only hotel I have been to that has so much closet space! It was great, but here is the downside... The cleanliness and maintenance needs a little help, mold in the bathroom, baseboards falling off the wall, dirty and moldy grout, paint peeling off walls. The nightly rate for our room was over $260 a night and for that price (or any) I would expect the place to be immaculately clean and well maintained. The location, well, we drove by it twice. You can barely see the sign on the gate if it's open, especially at night and it's down a very small out of the way street that you would not imagine a hotel to be in. Overall, would I return, absolutely yes, for the views alone! The reception desk was one of the friendliest and we checked in at 1AM on Christmas. I wish I had lovely things to say about this property but it’s vastly overrated and not at all worth the high price point. We paid over 600 euros for a “Royal Room with jetted tub”. The room was small, with damp patches, slightly rub down. The view was incredible but the tub was unclean, the balcony was unclean. And the tub was never able to be used because after they cleaned it it stayed cold. We were refunded 100 euros for the night and offered a complimentary drink each. We were promised a discount to match a much nicer and larger “executive room” that was 200 euros a night cheaper than we had paid and a complimentary 1-2 night stay but this was reneged on as soon as we left the hotel. We were offered a comp one night stay but the idea of going back is not appealing. We paid 200 euros a night extra for a dirty jacuzzi that didn’t work. Also a lamp outside that was not properly secured to the ceiling shattered and left glass everywhere. One of the pools was closed. The other is unheated. The complimentary yoga advertised on the website does not exist. This hotel is like a pretty painting - just don’t looks to closely or you’ll find it’s dated and u loved. If you have money to splurge I would spend it elsewhere. This hotel only looks glam in photos and on instagram. The reality is very disappointing.

Fantastisk sted med venligt personale og smukke rammer. Tæpperne i entreen og på trapperne er lidt slidte og trænger til at blive skiftet men alt var rent og pænt. Smukkeste udsigt over Lissabon og havet.

This is a beautiful, hidden, special property that is only a funicular ride away from the hustle and bustle of Avenida de Libertade. Loved the hotel! Stayed in a 2 Bedroom Apartment with my wife and two adult daughters. Spacious, clean, well appointed. Would highly recommend this property and hope to return some day!!!

The room (N°2) given for the our first night was large and spacious BUT the bathroom is very very small. The bath is in a closet and the toilet and mirror in one other closet. Really not practical ! No intimacy. Also the overall state of the room was not very qualitative (marks or holes in the wall) Cheap plastic bac for the bath. The rest was very nice. The second room (N°25) was better even if smaller BUT we found a smoked cigarette butt and an old dirty cloth in the bathroom. Not at the level of a 5 stars as expected. The hotel looks good in general but do not look for details. The Service and kindness of the staff was just perfect. Thank you for taking all our complains in consideration. we really appreciate. The breakfast was also very nice. The view over the town is amazing.

What a great find! Sonja and everyone on the hotel staff made us feel right at home. Everyone is super friendly and really made an effort to get to know us. The rooms were super clean with high end furnishings. The breakfast was so delicious with plenty of options to choose from. And the view! Feels like we were staying in a friend's really, really nice home. This is a real gem. Can't wait to go back again.

Beautiful hotel situated on top of the city right beside the Lavra Funicular giving direct access to the theatre district; the Metro; and all the sights and sounds of the city within a few minutes walk. The staff are all incredible - totally discrete, professional and personal service from the Concierge, to the serving staff and the cleaners (hotel is utterly spotlessly clean!) - call out for Sonia in the breakfast room who was just lovley; to DiDi in the bar who makes the meanest spicy margaritas! Our 6 year old son Abel (and his 'companion' Mr Bear) was treated with such respect, care and attention - cannot fault any aspect of our stay!

Impressive room (but not very functional room, in a cool old mansion definitely in the wrong part of town. Service and breakfast was not up to par for such highly rated hotel. Always have to take uber to get anywhere. Not an enjoyable walk.

We had a great stay in the penthouse two bedroom two bath. Perfect for our family. beautiful view of the city. It was an easy walk or tram ride down into the old part of town. Breakfast everyday at the hotel was amazing.

This is a beautiful, hidden, special property that is only a funicular ride away from the hustle and bustle of Avenida de Libertade. Loved the hotel! Stayed in a 2 Bedroom Apartment with my wife and two adult daughters. Spacious, clean, well appointed. Would highly recommend this property and hope to return some day!!!

I hate writing negative reviews, but in this case, I feel compelled to do so after numerous unsuccessful attempts to resolve this directly with the hotel. I originally booked my stay at Torel Palace Lisbon through Expedia, but when I arrived, the hotel claimed they had no record of my reservation. With no support from the staff, I was forced to book again—this time directly with the hotel had a much higher rate than Expedia—and chose a refundable rate. Unfortunately, the experience only got worse. When I checked in, the elevator was broken, which was never mentioned in advance. My wife just had surgery on her back so walk in the stairs is difficult My room was noticeably smaller than described, and certainly did not reflect the photos on the website. The staff showed little concern for the issues I raised. I chose to check out a day early due to the poor conditions, but despite booking a refundable rate directly through the hotel, Torel Palace refused to refund the second night. I followed up multiple times, but they offered no flexibility or resolution. I travel monthly to Europe and have stayed at many hotels—this was by far the worst experience out of my 12 trips this past year. Loved the overall experience. Beautiful feeling all around, very nice area and the view from the top of the hotel is amazing. Just don’t get a room by the entrance, loud in and out noises. The door opening and closing was kinda annoying. But I would stay again in a different are of the hotel.

We purposely were looking for a property with old style charm rather than the typical big box/big brand modern hotels, and we definitely found that at Torel. We loved the property and our welcome host, Nicholas (I believe his name was), gave us one off the best welcome tours we have ever had. He’s a superstar. His energy, overview of the property, and overall service was amazing. One of his recommendations was the onsite Michelin restaurant, which he was able to get us into, and had an stunning culinary experience. When we return to Lisbon, we will absolutely stay again. The location, service, charm, and food was all perfect. We're very discerning travelers and was blown away with the experience.

The view was unbelievable and the staff makes this hotel a five star. Sonia who I assume Is a manager was very professional, the bartenders, Di Di. and Augustinho were so friendly and delightful and made great drinks and Sónia and Felipe that serve in the restaurant are very professional and always with a smile on their faces. What a great find! Sonja and everyone on the hotel staff made us feel right at home. Everyone is super friendly and really made an effort to get to know us. The rooms were super clean with high end furnishings. The breakfast was so delicious with plenty of options to choose from. And the view! Feels like we were staying in a friend's really, really nice home. This is a real gem. Can't wait to go back again.

This stunning boutique hotel has gorgeous, surprisingly spacious rooms, exceptional views and delicious food. There is easy access to a tram that takes you right to the city center. It was a hot day when we arrived, after a long day of travel, so lounging at the picturesque pool with a glass of sparkling wine was how we spent our time here.

Impressive room (but not very functional room, in a cool old mansion definitely in the wrong part of town. Service and breakfast was not up to par for such highly rated hotel. Always have to take uber to get anywhere. Not an enjoyable walk.

It was unique. Each room had character. It was spread out over three buildings and didn’t have a huge number of rooms. Service was impeccable - staff was truly helpful and a pleasure to deal with, but not in your face all the time. The breakfast buffet was lovely and well curated. The hill to get to the hotel was shockingly steep, but it afforded the property wonderful views.

This is an absolute gem in Lisbon. The hotel is beautiful. A collection of charming, rustic buildings, but with all the modern comforts and amenities. The location is incredible, with stunning views of Lisbon and yet close enough to easily get around. The pool was the perfect oasis of calm to visit after of a busy day of sight-seeing and all of the staff were very attentive. I also recommend visiting 2monkeys if you get the chance for an amazing dining experience.

Esperava mais, a localização não é boa, o quarto é ok, o restaurante estava fechado às 21:30, tive que jantar no bar em uma mesa minúscula, com gatos passando em baixo da mesa e querendo participar do jantar. Não recomendo e não volto. Com tanto hotel bom em Lisboa, não sei o que fui fazer nesse hotelzinho.

This place is so exquisite that you feel like it is a resort. The staff are phenomenal and the whole vibe that they create is just perfect. Treat yourself to one of the best hotels you will ever have the privilege of staying. We almost had a flight get cancelled and usually we would be so upset. We were actually secretly wanting one more night at this magnificent property! Will definitely be back!!
