Fairground Inn

The motel general condition, room, internet, breakfast are all at least OK . The real problem are the lies they tell to cover their mistakes. I have been waiting 2 days to use the laundry room and then the desk clark gave the key to others although she promised it to me.

Next to train tracks. Dirty. Terrible breakfast. Clerk not friendly. Wouldn't stay again.

TV and refrigerator broken...got excuses. Woman walked into my room, door locked but security latch broken before check in. She looked homeless, saw her running off property. Told clerk, got a blank stare. Ive asked for a refund.

The train passes every 5 hours or so, but we knew this and just rolled over and fell back asleep The continental breakfast was a good start to our day.

Very dated room. No improvements. Noise from the train was terrible. Lame “breakfast” of misc Costco packaged bars. Insufficient parking due to back lot being full of UHaul trailers.

The bad. The room’s carpet was filthy, didn’t walk around with bare feet. Breakfast was marginal, nothing hot except instant oatmeal. The good we saved $300. Was it worth it? Not really.

Bed was VERY firm and there is a loud train that comes through every 5-ish hours, but complementary ear plugs are available at the front desk. Staff was great, and made our stay much easier. Breakfast starts running out of the good stuff around 7:30, but they still had a muffin, some Mott’s fruit snacks, tangerines, bagels and even my dad’s favorite zero sugar high protein yogurts which was awesome!

There were bags of garbage in the walkways. The drain in our room didn't drain at night.There was limited parking. The owner uses the parking lot for a U-Haul business also and U-Haul trailers took up a lot of parking space.

It wasnt very good. The room listed that I paid for online said it slept 3 with a pullout couch, it does not. Thankfully we brought a cot as there was only 1 bed. The AC wasnt working and it was really miserable. We had to open the door and window because it was so stuffy. I couldnt get more than one room key for 3 people. Not enough parking and the back parking lot was half full of random UHaul equipment??? Why? The shower backed up but it was hot, at least. Also they really need to put the refrigerated breakfast things such as the tub of cream cheese in ice. The same tub was left out and reused daily. No tongs for the bagels. It felt really unsanitary. I've stayed in some run down hotels without complaint but the final straw for me was the abysmal wifi connection. I needed to work on my college essays and couldnt get any pages to load to do my research.

When i got into my room i was suppose to have a refridgerator and it did not have one. I also have stayed there acouple times this week and when me or my fiance ask about getting the laundry key from one of the front desk people they said they would put us on the list and or there was someone using it. But when we walked by the laundry area there was never one person doing laundry in that laundry room. Infact the whole 4-5 days of me staying there me and my fiance maybe asked 7-8times and im not exaggerating either and kept getting those answers u cant tell me in a total of 5times of staying there that we wouldnt have been able to do atleast one load of laundry that is one of the bigger reasons for our stay at that location because of the free washer and dryer service. We have a 4year old son that gets dirty and its kinda nice to wash his clothing. Very unhappy about those things

Checked in, I didn't expect much, but as I was getting ready for bed I found bed bugs. I checked out immediately with a full refund. At least they didnt argue with me about that part.

Horrible bed. Dirty shower. Room smelled. Dirty disgusting stained chairs.

BED BUGS INFESTATION. Do not recommend. I have pictures of the bed bugs found on our bed!

The room was filthy. The sheets had what looked like blood stains on them. The bedspread felt dirty just touching it. There were easily 25 flies flying around the room. The air conditioner did not work; the toilet did not flush. The carpet was awful. I would never recommend this property and the one good thing I can say is we did not stay and got our money back.

Hands down the worst accommodation I have ever seen worldwide. Feces stained sheets, pee all over toilet, stained walls, hair everywhere, dirty sheets, disgusting carpet and furniture. Got a refund and left after 20 mins. Absolutely trainwreck of a motel. Oh! And a train literally runs past every 3 hours. Didn't stick around to witness it though.

Stains on the floor and furniture. Remote was sticky and had gunk all over it. Hair on the counter and shower area. Sketchy night activities in the back lot.

BED BUGS BEWARE!!!!! Just don't stay here. It is infested with Bed Bugs. My son got an infection due to the bed bug bites. Had to take him to Urgent care for his infection. Disgusting. Ashu the person at the front desk was nice. Other than that 0 stars for this place

Nastiest place ive ever stayed. Spills and stains on the ceiling, box spring, bathroom. Socks were black within 10 minutes of walking around. Toilet didnt flush. Found dead crickets in the room the first night and cockroach ran across my friends arm the 2nd night. Really conveniently located but so gross. Also super loud, right on the main road and the train line is right there as well.

Found bedbugs in the room, management was not surprised and offered to move our room. Had to switch hotels.

I'm a notorious cheapskate and I've stayed in some *sketchtastic* places just to save a buck. I suppose the roulette wheel of cheap hotels had to land on "every pathogen known to man" eventually. The disappointment started with the wall of febreeze upon entry, and it was only downhill from there. A paper "sanitized for your protection" slip was on the toilet, which was obviously a lie because there was a skid mark on the seat that even my bespectacled eyes couldn't miss. Food on the table, "nether hairs" in the tub, beard hairs on the sink, and what one can only hope was rust where the coffee pot should have been. None of that was as bad as the obvious blood spatter on the bed skirt, however. The only saving grace was that I didn't have a black light on my person, as the what I can only imagine would be a super nova-esque light show would have haunted me for decades to come.

Building condition is not good. The beds are bad.

Wifi did not work. I tried multiple addresses and multiple passwords. The guy at the front desk said he uses his minutes and never uses wifi. I spent almost an hour with this problem. Breakfast was ok. Noise from the trucks on the front busy road. The train come every few hours and and more often closer to morning. And the train is very loud blowing it's horn multiple times.

The place is close to everything, food, activities, shopping. The grounds could be kept up better. Lot of garbage and cigarette butts laying around. Rooms are okay but they have only about 20 inch television.

The size of the rooms are very large

The water pressure was horrible and the toilet took 30+ to fill back up

The water pressure was really low. Shower was nearly worthless. Other then that it was clean,spacious, reasonable price.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The king bed had only two pillows. Three were needed and 4 is the usual in other Motels with King bed. The room had a pungent smell, perhaps the cleaning fluid used. The linoleum floor was really sticky, i would imagine from the cleaning fluid as well. Bed was quite firm, many may like it that firm but was too firm for us.

DO NOT TRUST this hotel to honor your reservation. I secured rooms here two months in advance, called the morning I was supposed to arrive to confirm details about my rooms, and spoke to a woman who said she'd get the rooms close together if possible etc. In other words, I had a reservation that morning and it was confirmed. Upon arriving that night, after a entire day on the road, I was told by the completely incompetent person at the desk that though he had seen my name "pop up" on the laptop earlier that day, I was no longer in the system and they were fully booked. I said yes, and two of those rooms were booked by me. He called the manager (apparently the woman I spoke to that morning) who offered NO explanation, NO apology, and NO offer to assist us in finding another room. All I was told by the kid at the desk was "there's nothing I can do." I was left with three tired kids in the car and no place to stay, with tickets to an all weekend event which had left absolutely every hotel in the nearby area completely booked. I have NEVER experienced such unprofessional, inconsiderate treatment from a lodging in my life, and I've travelled a lot and stayed in some pretty cheap, sketchy places.

The day and evening audit front desk gentleman I'm sorry I don't remember your name. You both are very good at customer service very friendly I felt comfortable very helpful I mean this should be the status quo across the board especially for bigger corporate hotel chains. But this was nice and quaint off be older I love the fact that it's rustic however the customer service is second to none the cleanliness of the room was great like I said it's older but that doesn't matter it's well maintained and I really did appreciate the customer service thank you. 🙂

Office repeatedly gives room key to anyone. The office made a key for someone and they robbed my room of everything inside. Then when I brought it to there attention they did nothing about it and told me that she had done this multiple times to my room. After I told them to not give anyone my key especially this one person.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Answered my questions online and in house without any hassle like I dealt with thru agents on the chat only customer service Expedia app has

I received a phone call from Fairgrounds Inn at 4PM on the day I was scheduled to check in (July 11, 2024). I had a 4 night reservation. I was told that the property had a water leak and my reservation was canceled. I asked the employee if he could help me find another hotel and he said NO. He had a thick accent and it was difficult for me to understand what he was saying. He said something after he said he couldn't help me that I didn't understand. Then he said "Have a nice day - Good bye" and hung up. I was 1200 miles from home with no place to stay. I will never book another room with this property and if this is the type of service that Expedia represents, it's time to find another booking site.

As l explained before day reception was good but night shift was poor. When l arrived he gave me the room key was occupied with someone else and when l opened the door l faced a naked person and wondering. Then he gave me another room. The key’s room has problem and needs to set after any using.

Staff was EXTREMELY rude. Took a picture of my drivers license and when asked how long it will be on record he said permanently and if I don't like it I can go elsewhere. The carpet was disgusting, bathroom was not cleaned, stairs outside falling apart. The train track is next to the property and is LOUD, not a fault of the hotel, but something to note. Changed room several times, some rooms smelled really bad, some rooms had a loud buzz. Everyone I talked to hated it there, so AVOID.

It was close to our business in Monroe, Washington. Its central location sports a lot of eating places in Monroe.

Convenient location. Variety of stores within walking distance. Steakhouse right next-door. Right off the freeway… Easy access.

The room was warm upon arrival, as few northwestern motels are, clean and pleasant and centrally located. There were several solid food options nearby, which was very convenient. Very centrally located. A pleasant stay!

It’s a good hotel for the price. Location is near the fairgrounds which was the primary reason I chose it. The road noise from Route 2 and railroad was somewhat bothersome if you’re a light sleeper. Furnishings looked old in style but in reasonable condition. The comforter had a black mark on it, but otherwise the room was clean.

The Fairground Inn was close to the Monroe Fairgrounds which served its purpose.

Location is between a busy highway and a rail line, so there is some noise. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, but the facility shows several signs of delayed maintenance. The rooms were clean and had minifridges and microwaves. However some of the rooms appeared have been converted to living quarters for residents. Overall an acceptable although not preferred lodging.

Right next to train tracks, enough said. It’s the cheapest option though so it did the trick.

For the price, the Fairground Inn is wonderful! My only real complaint is that my bathtub was missing the little stopper. This is a basic hotel, but it does have a pretty good breakfast--the hard boiled eggs were cooked perfectly, the cereal was fresh, they had Sunny D(!) and milk, and nice yogurts! I'll definitely be back!
