Mid City Plantation Motel

We had two rooms, one renovated and one unrenovated. Location is great, a short walk to shops, cafes and bars. Rooms were tired and not inviting. Even the room that was renovated didn’t feel quite so new. It would be nice to have some artwork, lamps etc to make the stay more comfortable. Pool was very small and did not bother using.

They have security fencing around motel and car park so less worry about safety. Room was very clean and amenities inside were well kept

The bins were not emptied after the previous guests which made me wonder what other corners were cut when cleaning. As its on a main road there is traffic noise. Also found the other guests coming and going or playing their tv loud very early, very noisy. The stairs case is metal and very loud with people going up and down it and our toom was right under it. Location wise there were restaurants walking distance and an IGA so that was handy. We were only there a night as we passed through so didn't do much exploring. They have secure parking which is great. Getting in via a code on the gate. Getting out must be a sensor that works on cars, doesn't work on motorbikes. Luckily only one of us went in when it was locked so the other could come out and input the code to open the gate and let them out. Room was basic and fine for what we needed.

The property was satisfactory, although the front balcony stairs made me feel uneasy, so I opted to use the back stairs to the carpark instead. The pool was excellent on a hot day and was well-maintained. The room was a comfortable basic setup, featuring a double bed, air conditioning, a TV, an ensuite bathroom, and amenities like a mini fridge, toaster, kettle, and microwave. The location was convenient, with food shops and the main shopping area within walking distance. On the downside, other guests were quite noisy in the very late/very early hours, and traffic noise from the main road was noticeable, although this is to be expected in such a location. Additionally, there was an unpleasant odor from the toilet when the lid was raised, and I found the lighting and power outlets to be insufficient. The cleanliness of the room could have been improved, as there were items left behind by a previous guest in the shower and under the bed.

Close to shops, city centre and Working Mans Club. Rooms were clean but towels and sheets not changed daily. Nice garden environment with palm trees. All room services, TV, Fridge, Air Conditioner, showers, worked excellently. One small thing I would have like a bath mat in the shower. Being a bit elderly felt a bit wonky on the sloping slippery shower floor. But that is easily fixed. Overall for the lower tariff charged I found it good value for money and would stay there again.

We have never stayed at a cleaner motel. This place was immaculately clean and very comortable. I definity reccomend it.

Terrible..would not comply with health regulations...aircon didnt work...bathroom door hanging off hinges and very grotty bathroom

Very very disappointed, Customer service was so poor and rude. Inside room 19 all three side table lights didn’t have light globes for my young children to use. Room 18 had a massive party that kept everyone awake all night, We could smell them smoking as there was a twin door locked between both rooms that wasn’t sealed up where the smoke and nose came through. Black mould in shower and one of the kids towels had black hair in it when open up ready to use after shower. My kids have light coloured hair. Highly recommend people to look elsewhere sorry, I’m definitely not one to leave a review but this was terrible unfortunately.

Very old property, worn, shabby.

Unfortunately we got one of the 'unrenovated' rooms. We had booked a double room, mustn't have been one available. Ended up with a family room. Very basic, old-fashioned & everything very 'tired', apart from the bed which was very comfortable. Aircon worked well. Motel within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Wouldn't bother returning.

Beds were comfortable and clean. The room had bunks The room had a step down going in and a step up to bathroom so that’s the only fault and falls risk possibly. Bunk is low so easy to hit head but was clean & comfortable. Remote control for airconditioner was located under top bunk bed of all places!!!

location was excellent, and while facilities are dated, are clean and well presented, which is a bonus at the budget end. Staff were helpful and attentive.

Nice room and management were nice, but other people that were staying there were very loud, vocal and drunk. I will say it made my stay a little uncomfortable.

Unfortunately we got one of the 'unrenovated' rooms. We had booked a double room, mustn't have been one available. Ended up with a family room. Very basic, old-fashioned & everything very 'tired', apart from the bed which was very comfortable. Aircon worked well. Motel within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Wouldn't bother returning.
