The hotel is good; however, I do not believe it deserves a five-star rating. The towels in the rooms are very thin and rough, which does not meet the expected standard. Bedroom with bunk beds was excellent for those travelling with younger children. Had lots of room. Only downside the lights for main bedroom controlled the children’s sections which means you have to sit in the dark once the kids are asleep! The breakfast was very good. Get there earlier otherwise there is a queue for a table. Sometimes hit or miss whether your hot drinks turn up when it’s busy! Unfortunately the pool was closed when we checked in but they had another pool on the 4th floor which the kids enjoyed. Staff are very helpful. Easy to get taxis/ubers around. Also just across the road from the metro station which the kids enjoyed trying out as you could see all the super cars.

Overall, the hotel was beautiful, clean, and had amazing staff members. Allan was great; he always asked about our day and had excellent customer service skills. Melissa was also great; she made the birthday surprise I had for my friend smooth and easy. I appreciated that. The only reason I gave it 4/5 was because the experience at the spa wasn’t great. I wanted to book a spa service for both my friend and me since it was her birthday, and I always look forward to the spa services everywhere I go. However, when we arrived at the spa, we felt judged. When we asked for the services, it was like we were being rushed out. The atmosphere wasn’t welcoming, which was disappointing because I had an amazing experience at the spa in Sofitel Marrakech and was looking forward to the one in Dubai. Unfortunately, we had to book a spa outside the hotel. Overall, the experience was good, though. All the staff downstairs were amazing, the housekeeping was great, and the breakfast was 10/10. There were many options to choose from, and the restaurant was very beautiful and clean.

Sofitel Dubai Downtown is in a great location downtown, in close proximity to the metro and the Dubai Mall. Great view of the city from our room. Fitness room, spa, pool, and breakfast were all highlights from our stay at the Sofitel. Staff were so attentive, friendly, and helpful.

A Wonderful 2 night stay in a suite overlooking Burj Khalifa. Large and roomy, very comfortable bed and the blackout curtains were amazing. The 10 minute covered walkway to get to Dubai Mall is perfect, to beat the August heat. We did get Half Board. Breakfast was excellent. Lunch options were a bit confusing as very limited. We had a sunset cruise so didnt utilise the Dinner option. Unfortunately the reason we picked this particular hotel was the pool area and view, but it was under construction. This should have been advised on the website. We had access to the Residents Pool instead but it was crazy windy, so we weren't able to stay for long. Umbrellas were being blown over. But the staff are friendly, professional and very helpful.

Hotel is lovely but it is further from the Mall than is promoted. You need to allow 15-18 minutes of walking from the Hotel using the street and covered air conditioned walkways. Also the closure of the pool area on Level 5 was disappointing, especially as the beautiful photos of this feature were the reason for our decision to stay at the Sofitel.

De kamer was top. Alleen in het weekend is verdieping 29 erg gehorig vanwege discotheek erboven. Kamer werd ook netjes bijgehouden 2 x per dag. Het zwembad was dicht dus mochten we gebruik maken van residence zwembad. Deze was echter niet optimaal schoon met wat tegels die kapot waren dus best gevaarlijk bedjes waren niet echt schoon en waren hier en daar kapot. Bar die er stond was niet echt sfeer en beleving. Eten in hotel was top alleen werd je sochtends niet echt opgemerkt dus moest vaak zelf vragen om koffie of thee want na een half uur verwacht je wel dat je opgemerkt wordt. Personeel was prima herkende ons ook na zoveel dagen dus wisten ons ook bij naam. Locatie is top overkant van metro en burj khalifa plus mall op loopafstand.

The lady who checked us in was so polite and friendly. We had a great conversation with her. She could also see on our booking notes that I requested for a late check-out on the day of our departure due to our flight being at night. She promised a 4pm check-out time which was so appreciated by us. Our room was spotless, spacious and just beautiful. It was an extremely comfortable and memorable stay for us. The hotel rooms are nice. However there are shady activities with this hotel that make it not so family friendly. There is a nightclub near the pool that blasts music until 4 am and you can hear it from the rooms all the way in the 23rd floor where I was staying

Our stay at the Sofitel Downtown Dubai hotel was superb! Our room on the 28th floor had a perfect view of the Burj (tallest bldg) from the floor-to-ceiling glass wall… the city view was stunning, especially after sunset. Room was super clean and the staff was very conscientious with details… especially when they turn down the beds in the late afternoon… always a pleasant feeling to come back to our room after a long day of sight- seeing or walking in the hot sun. Another highlight was their breakfast… everything was delicious and fresh, especiallybtheir crepes and pastries. ! Also enjoyed their snack hour and happy hour that was included with our room selection. The hotel location can’t be beat if you plan to visit the Dubai Mall… the entrance to the mall is a just a short stroll down the sidewalk from the hotel’s main entrance! Very satisfied with our stay at the Sofitel Downtown Dubai!

Excellent views of Dubai downtown and Burj Khalifa from the room! The hotel room was clean, spacious and well maintained. The service was truly exceptional and made our stay an enjoyable experience! Breakfast was delicious and in-room dining provided a great selection of multi-cuisine dishes. The hotel location is excellent - Dubai Mall and Burj are in walking distance from the property. Couple of things that can be improved - Electric switches in the room that are on the wooden touch panel don't have any haptic feedback. We personally didn't like the softer beds we received.

For health reason we haved to delay our arrival. We payd extra cost for the extensions. We also informed expedia about it receiving the answer from sofitel that online wasn't possible to get extensions. Sofitel said that visiting the desk at arrival something could be done. So we did. At desk the lady attending us said that definitely, because we are usual customers, something will be done. Nothing has been done. Moreover two days before departure I ask the personnel at desk (the same lady meet at arrival) to arrange for a wake up allarm, arranging for a consierge and a taxy for our departure. She added that she will arrange a breakfast in the room for that time. One day before departure i repeated the request and I have been assured about it. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. NOTHING. NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL BEHAVIOUR. SHAME ON YOUR PEOPLE, SOFITEL.

Pros… Staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Room was excellent. Brilliant staff at Club Lounge. Good location to walk to Dubai Mall & Fountain. Cons… Non reply/acknowledgement to email requests prior to arrival. Lack of any suitable facilities for early check-in/refresh/changing, after overnight travel. Using the sauna for this purpose was ridiculous. First 3 nights staff - excellent house keeping but last 2 night bathrooms towels & face cloths not replenished without request to reception. Opinion… Despite minor cons we had a very enjoyable stay and would still recommend this hotel.

Stayed here during the New Year’s Eve weekend for 3 nights. First off, I’d like to recognize William Joseph, the property’s concierge supervisor for going above and beyond in securing a last minute, coveted restaurant reservation at one of the lakefront restaurants at Souk Al Bahar for the New Year’s Eve festivities. Because of his tireless effort and dedication, I was able to fulfill a lifelong desire of watching the utterly spectacular New Year’s fireworks show at the Burj Khalifa. It certainly wasn’t cheap, but the memory of marveling and being deeply moved in awe of this extravagantly lavish spectacle will stay with me for a lifetime! In addition, William also connected me with an authorized reseller of tickets to the sold out Museum of the Future. (Tip: if visiting this museum is part of your itinerary, book your tickets weeks in advance!!) So thank you William for helping me make this particular Dubai trip very special and memorable. As for the hotel, the room was immaculately clean, spacious, and equipped with all the modern amenities and touches. The bed was extremely comfortable. Service from everyone I encountered, from the staff at Les Cuisines (breakfast buffet) to the bell hop and front desk, was friendly and warm. The location of this property is very central especially if visiting the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa is a priority. It’s a 25 minute leisurely walk to get to the Dubai Mall itself via an enclosed, climate controlled elevated walkway.

I was particularly unhappy with the L’Apero restaurant where I took my daily breakfast and the executive VIP lounge. The Food buffet was constantly full of flies and the staff did not know what to do. You simply loose your appetite. Also, the timing window for the pre-dinner canapés was too small to be of any use.

The suite I stayed in with my family was spacious, clean and quiet with an excellent view of downtown Dubai. The breakfast and the iftar dinner at the restaurant is delicious. This hotel is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. The service is outstanding. The rooftop pool is one of the nicest ones we have ever seen at a hotel. We hope to come back for a vacation again soon.

El hotel está muy bien aunque por la zona la única opción de restaurantes son los del propio hotel o la caminata al Dubái Mall. Lo que tienen que mejorar son los desayunos ya que hay que hacer cola todos los días para conseguir una mesa o para una tortilla. Pero como siempre la cadena Sofitel no defrauda.

Room was super clean and the staff was very conscientious with details… especially when they turn down the beds in the late afternoon… always a pleasant feeling to come back to our room after a long day of sight- seeing or walking in the hot sun. Another highlight was their breakfast… everything was delicious and fresh, especiallybtheir crepes and pastries. ! Also enjoyed their snack hour and happy hour that was included with our room selection. The hotel location can’t be beat if you plan to visit the Dubai Mall… the entrance to the mall is a just a short stroll down the sidewalk from the hotel’s main entrance! Very satisfied with our stay at the Sofitel Downtown Dubai!

We stayed at Sofitel for 3 nights and it was amazing experience from check-in till checkout. House keeping services were impressive. Hotel was clean and amenities were good as well. Breakfast buffet had variety of items. Highly recommended!
