Stagecoach Inn

It looks like there is a lot of construction and renovating going on around the property but where we stayed, the pool, the restaurant and check-in area was beautiful and clean.

We loved the room, it was very comfy and well decorated. We also liked the walkability to restaurants and shopping. But one of the sole reasons for staying here was the pool. We had all set our hopes on a fun family swim night at the end of our road trip. And instead we sat in a hotel room with nothing to do. Couldn’t even eat on site, because the restaurant is closed as well. Would have been fine with it if the property had just been upfront about this from the beginning! Nowhere did it say or did they say in all the communication that these main draws were unavailable. Felt like we were lied to and sort of forced to stay there.

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay at this historic site. It was super clean, nice evening entertainment & comfortable beds. Only thing that was disappointing is no mini frig in our room (building 1 room 121) but our friends in 2 other rooms had them. requiring you to go all the way to the office building to get an ice bucket, no daytime bar/snack service at the pool during the day yet the website says seasonal service.

A beautiful property! The remodeled rooms were well done and comfortable. Loved the shower and the shaded patio. The pool area was lovely. Also enjoyed the outdoor pavilion and bar with live music and the restaurant breakfast. Would love to stay here again!

Pool side 7:12 am music on Sunday is a horrible idea. Too early.

Nice clean and quiet room. Restaurant was closed. Pool was closed and in disrepair. Green water. I should have been informed that these advertised amenities were not available. These amenities were reason for choosing this hotel. Dishonest.

The was fine, but not luxurious. The grounds were well tended. The restaurant menu was ok, but we had expected a few more options based on the cost of the room and the fees they added. The dining tables for four are small and so are the chairs. The bed was good and pillows were fluffy. The property is hilly so you need to be able to walk up and down sloping driveways. Parking near our rooms was extremely limited and it forced us to walk those sloping paths.

We enjoyed being close to everything. It was really nice having the Stagecoach Inn Restaurant so accessible. The breakfast there was amazing. The pool was very clean and refreshing. Live music at the pool on the weekends was also a nice touch. Definitely more amenities than most boutique hotels. We would stay there again.

It was a beautiful property!! EVERYTHING about the hotel was WONDERFUL!!! GREAT pool view from our upper devk room,activities for the family,walking to everything downtown Salado,the rooms are HUGE & BEDS & PILLOWS SO COMFORTABLE!!!! The grounds & pool keepers keep it all so clean!! And the poolside bar is perfect & pool is huge!! Very nice clean pool.

From all appearances, this former jewel of Salado appears to be on its last legs. The staff was nice and the room was clean, but the property appears to be struggling. Modest room rate was commensurate with overall property condition. TV reception was out. No phone in room (used my cell phone to call main number and got a recording with 4 menu prompts that did not include “front desk,” “reception” or “reservations,” and got someone to answer only 1 of 5 times). Driveways, parking lots and sidewalks cracked and uneven. Dead leaves, downed tree limbs, sawed up tree trunks on property grounds. Property surrounded by tall, game-preserve-style fencing that blocked entrance on I-35 frontage road. Buildings shuttered and padlocked. Restaurant closed “for renovations.” A sad sight for anyone familiar with the Inn’s better days.

This place was very clean, I walk barefoot alot and never had anything sticking to my feet! Thats how clean it was! Restroom was beautiful with a rain shower and the bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to get up. I wish they had a Keurig coffee pot instead of a hotpot. I will stay again, very nice. Also, I love they hospitality of texting before and after I checked out.

The facility was nice. Everything else was disappointing. In these high temperatures, not having a refrigerator is embarrassing. Every other hotel I've stayed in has had a refrigerator. A microwave would also be nice. Breakfast is not offered. Coffee in the lobby is ridiculous because it's a long walk away. The pool is also far from the room. And last but not least, I was woken up by a leaf blower right outside my room door at 7a.m.. That's very disrespectful to the guest. Lots of insects were walking on the floor. I'm glad I canceled a second night for later in time. There really needs to be better service here. Salado itself is a small, beautiful, tranquil place.

A bad hotel that gets by on the luck of being in a good location (which makes them lazy and arrogant in customer service). I booked a room through Hotels dot com in Apr-2023 to come see the eclipse in Apr-2024. The price was listed and I paid in full at the time of booking. On the day I showed up to check in, they tell me I have an outstanding balance on the reservation, and add another 80 PERCENT to the price. Their lame excuse - “You booked under the old system, and we’re using a new system now.” The truth is they’re lazy and forgot to raise their prices because of the eclipse event, and figured they could just hit me up when I checked in. I even called a month ahead of the eclipse to confirm my reservation, and no mention of the price increase. I’ve just checked ahead on the same booking website for the upcoming major holidays, and zero increased rates. Pure price gouging at the last second. And when we finally got into our room, the floors were covered in pill bugs, dozens of them. They probably came looking for water and are able to get in through the worn seal around the doorframe. My kids were freaked, and I spent every morning of our stay clearing bugs from the room. Also - No ice machines anywhere on such a large property, you have to go beg for ice at the front desk (when they’re open); Only one already-used toilet paper roll in the room, go beg for that too if you need more; Our reservation included two rooms, and the air conditioner was broken in one.

Check in was easy and the room had great AC and a nice balcony. The rugs had some stains and the shower could have been cleaner. Overall a great stay

Our stay a Stagecoach Inn was delightful! We always try to stay at a non-branded hotel and this one did not disappoint! The room was large and well laid out. We had a patio that overlooked the pool. It was clean and the amenities were spotless. I appreciate the remodel and will stay here again next time we are in the area.

The property is nice as is the staff. No coffee in rooms is a negative as you need to drive to get some. Ice only at the office is also a drag as the property is large and my room was far away. A mini fridge would also be a nice touch

The pool is great! The guy put me in an 2nd floor, so going up stairs is not ideal for my knee. My room is also located next to a major highway so the traffic is very very loud.

Road noise next to I-35 is loud. The suites are nice. Beds are comfortable.

Our room was very spacious and quiet. We loved the separate bedroom and, large bathroom and private porch for each access point. Only downside, the bed was very firm which is not our preference but seems to be the norm everywhere we stay. Staff was very responsive. We needed extra linens for the pull-out couch and they had someone deliver them within minutes of us arriving to our room. Check out and check in was simple, the staff was friendly. We love the location.

Maybe request to be in one of the buildings closest to the pool. We were in the building on the back side and could hear cars/traffic on I-35 all night.

An historic property which has been brought back to life in its former mid-century splendor. Rooms are spacious and furniture is comfortable. Kitchenette is small but functional. Our room had pool view so it was lovely to sit out on the patio and enjoy all the sights and sounds. Salado is a charming community with a great history, and Stagecoach Inn completes the quaintness of a stay there. Highly recommended.

The room was clean and still had a retro feel. The bathroom had been completely remodeled. The pool was very large and inviting. Can’t wait for them to complete the renovations for the entire property. Happy to be able to stay at this historic inn!😃

TV broken. Wi-Fi non existent

Lacking in room amenities for a newly renovated location. No fridges, no microwaves. Had to trek to the front building for ice.

I stayed for three nights, and the hotel was in general very pleasant and clean. However, I asked for standard cleaning and replacement of towels and sheets and coffee, etc. each day I was there. Each day the hotel failed to clean my room or replace my towels or replace my coffee or empty my trash. After day one I specifically called and requested the service Sunday to, but again it was not performed. When I either called or went to the lobby to ask them to perform the service all I got were excuses. Very disappointing.

The check in was great. We got in right at 10 pm & the desk attendant stayed to take care of it even though they close at 10 pm. We loved the aesthetics of the place and will definitely be back to stay for longer.

After sending a message that I would arrive late there was no one at the property. I called their customer service number ans there was no answer. Had to find a diffwrent hotel at 2 AM and still got charged

Beautiful hidden gem, just off of I-35. Property was beautiful, room was very clean, and the young lady at the office desk was super sweet! Just across the street from neat shops and restaurants. Will definitely stay again when in the area❤️

Horrible, general manager told me they have no cribs even after promised, and he walked out before i could talk to him for a refund so another person had to do it for me. Mark/Marc is a coward and genuinely deserves to be fired.

Lovely property! Rooms are clean and comfortable, beds were great. Excellent location for shopping, eating and enjoying the town. Enjoyed the pool area. Staff was very helpful and outgoing. Excellent service. We ate at the restaurant and food was good and priced well. Highly recommend!

The experience was pleasant overall, but the treatment of a young couple felt unusual. The hotel required a $150 deposit for the room, in addition to the room rate. Since when is a deposit required for a hotel stay? It took a full day for the deposit to be refunded, and it was not even recognizable on the bank statement, as it was processed through an ATM credit rather than directly from the hotel, where the charges were clearly visible. I was not satisfied with this business practice.

Smack dab in the heart of Salado. Clean rooms, lovely pool, easy access to breweries, restaurants, coffee, and the creek. If there’s a more relaxing activity than sitting in the creek and drinking a cold beer, I can’t think of it.

The property itself was very nice and attractive. Our room was clean and nice but our bedside lights did not work. I called the front desk and was told that she had no light bulbs. Additionally the deadbolt would not lock. It was late and we did not want to move so we just stayed. When we checked in we were told that breakfast was at 7am, but when we arrived at 7 we were told that a full.breakfast wasn’t available until 7:30. This was frustrating. However the food was good and the waitress was very nice and cordial. We might stay here again.

We had an awesome time!! The hotel has been refurbished (and they are still in the process). All the employees we encountered were awesome. Can't wait for the restaurant to be ready for guests!!

Restaurant and bar were closed. Half of the property is under construction and grounds not kept.

Enjoyed our stay! Relaxed atmosphere. Professional staff and accommodating. Looking forward to having the restaurant back!
