Beautiful new hotel. Coldest indoor pool I have ever been in. Ice cold water making it worthless! Really sad for a 4 year old who waited for 4 hours to get in a pool for just a hour of a road trip.

Very comfortable stay! It was very easy to get there from the interstate and the beds were comfy. The continental breakfast was delicious and there were lots of options! Our only concern was regarding overall cleanliness. The pool area was not very clean and there were a lot of ants near the windows. There also was some food left in our fridge from the previous stay. We would definitely stay again!

Lovely & spacious property with beautifully decorated rooms. I enjoyed the pool and saw how nice the fitness room was. The breakfast was nice, as expected and the property overall is clean with friendly staff. Specifically speaking about the room, while well appointed, the toilet wasn’t cleaned properly and that is my wonky complaint.

This is a fairly new hotel and we were a bit surprised by what we found. The TV in our room would not work (partner needed to watch the game) & they opted to move us to another room. Both TVs had the connecting cords hanging out of the bottom almost to the desk sitting beneath-maybe why # 1 didn’t work? There are velcro products to use for this. Went to close the slider curtains for the night to find a previous guest(?) had pulled almost the entire curtain out of the slider & it was hanging in the rod by about 1/3 of it. Really!! The lovely chrome soap dish in the shower had soap chunk remains from a previous guest and there was grunge in a shower corner that needed a scrub brush. But then housekeeping didn’t notice the curtain issue either.

Check in was a little slow. Room was nice but could have been cleaned a little better. For the price they could have had coffee in the lobby and better coffee in the rooms, maybe a Keurig and some pods. Overall nice hotel.

We checked in and was given our room key. Went to our room, walked in saw Arby’s sack on desk and the bed was unmade. Went back to front desk to let them know either we walked into an already occupied room or it was not cleaned the night before. Neither was verified with us and was assigned another room. Second room the bathroom lights were strobing when we turned them on. Also found hair in the shower. It was an ok stay, would recommend more thorough cleaning and attention.

I have stayed in numerous hotels over the past 50 years. This one i will remember as one of the top three worst. Main reason to stay at a hotel is to sleep. Impossible here. Highway noise and other outdoor noises all night. All hallway noises come through. Hotel doors slam shut. HVAC unit makes hundreds of clicking noises. Floor above my room squeaked with every step the occupants took. And i really dislike hearing people above going to the bathroom (pre-flush). I got maybe 90 minutes of sleep and was glad to leave.

Fairfield is the newest hotel I’m Clear Lake and they are still working out the bugs. Our first room the lock mechanism on the door didn’t work so we moved the next room one tv didn’t work so we moved again and the third room everything worked each room was nice and clean.

I found running the temp in the room too complicated. Almost called the staff to assist. Had to unplug the unit several times, then found the thermostat ran everything, but nit how I like it with fan running continuously.

Initially, I was very impressed with this hotel. The staff is awesome, the check in area was clean and finding what I needed was easy. I had a hard time getting into my room as the door was so heavy. Once in, we could not adjust the temperature. It was like a sauna all night. We decided to rent a movie, but the sound kept going out and we had to restart 3 different times. In the morning, I noticed the wall mounted shampoo was empty.in all,it was a good experience, but that room was not for me.

When we checked in we were told many of the rooms had non-working tv's. We were asked if we wanted a tv, and we said yes. Got to room, tv did not work. Tried to call front desk to ask for another room, phone did not work. Called hotel from my cellphone and asked for another room. They said they could move us for our 2nd night. The next morning we moved to another room, and the front desk clerk personally checked it to be sure tv worked. It was on when we got there, but when we changed channel, it quit working. Also, no second mirror in the first room. Only about 10 tissues in the both rooms, and my allergies were acting up, so used toilet paper. Very disappointed. Highest priced hotel in Clear Lake, and no offer to discount room for no tv.

Stayed as a long time Bonvoy member. Fairfield always my go to. Dependable. Not this time or this location. TVs don’t work, wires hanging everywhere from tv, bathrooms need a deep clean, red/pink mold in shower. Parts broken off in shower. Felt more like a budget hotel experience not a $200 room.

Manager was extremely rude! The hotel had a big party for new years it was loud and there was trash everywhere, was not able to sleep. Breakfast food was very poor quality. Received an incidental charge for something that was not from our stay.

Our television didn’t work and they were unable to do anything because they had no maintenance. The person at the front desk had no power and they couldn’t move us because they didn’t have any housekeeping. My husband and I then figured out that the whole wall of outlets (with the television, lamps, other outlets) had a fuse blown. The general manager said she was going to credit our account and it’s three weeks later and we haven’t seen anything except an extra $30 charge come out. Won’t go back. Don’t go until they work out the bugs

The sink wouldn’t drain finally able to remove the stopper altogether. The bath tub would not hold water so unable to take a bath. Asked for someone to check and was told that someone would come up but that never happened. The bill was incorrect and very very confusing. Had to stand at the front desk and wait while she figured it out.

Easy check in. The rooms we stayed in were nicely cleaned and the floor was quiet. This is the nicest hotel in the area. I enjoy staying here every time I come back to visit. The only issue sometimes it can be difficult to find staff at the front desk and they aren’t always present.

On Friday morning May 30, 2025 the fire alarm went off TWICE before 8AM. Both times the alarm stopped within 20 seconds. However the alarm in my room was VERY loud. The front desk said it was test and security was looking into it. Please, do not test alarms in the early morning hours! There is only one bar/grill within walking distance. There is a sidewalk in front of the hotel which goes for maybe 1/8 of a mile. The airport is 1.3 miles away (3 minutes) and a taxi ride costs $25. There are no sidewalks on Route Business 18 so pedestrian access is dismissal.

We enjoyed our stay at Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites in Clear Lake, IA! Hotel had “new appearance” & check in process was smooth even though we added 2nd night’s stay. The thing that we didn’t enjoy was the complimentary breakfast, fruit should be replaced more often, minor issue but heard others express the same sentiments. Overall, stay was was nice & would recommend to family and friends! Thank you! 😊

It was very nice. Quiet, bed was comfortable. Room was handy and clean. I liked the wall hangers to hang clothes. Things to improve were the heater never did reach set point. Was warm at least. The door would only lock if you slammed the door repeatedly. The body soap was nearly empty. Breakfast was 100% Ultra processed food and is not worth eating to me. More fresh foods please. Please switch to organize oatmeal. Regular oatmeal is not trustworthy and often chemical ridden

Breakfast was gross. Wet eggs, 5-day old sausage, no Danish, no fruit. Room was noisy, the floor cracked and creaked all night, neighbor was noisy, felt like the floor by the door to hall had water damage or poorly laid. Never stay there again.
