Sadly, I was led to believe that there was parking by Hotels.com - I checked again on your site, to see if I was mistaken, however when I arrived at the hotel, I was informed that there was no parking at the hotel. This was very distressing. This really needs to be rectified on Hotels.com as the hotel staff said that they could not help. To arrive at a hotel thinking that there is a car park, and there isn’t completely ruined my trip. I would appreciate a response from Hotels.com regarding this incident. Thank you

Great base in the heart of Stratford. Our room was at the back of the hotel which I think may be the best location given the position of the hotel. Room on small side but not an issue for us. Great bathroom/shower/towels. Fridge in the room very handy and complimentary water provided daily. Appreciated the complimentary continental breakfast too. Really friendly professional staff who made us feel very welcome. A little tired in places decor-wise but understand a refurb is scheduled at the end of the year. Only little gripe is the blurb mentioned discounted parking which is no longer the case but nevertheless highly recommended for a comfortable stay.

A unique building, nicely restored and maintained. Excellent food in the dining room, the continental breakfast was simple but delicious. Dinner was superb. The location is perfect - there is no car park, but I parked in the Bridgeview car park which is a 5 minute walk and it was inexpensive (there is an overnight rate from 1600). 2 minute walk to the RSC theatre, right in the centre of town. My only comment would be on the bed - advertised as king size, barely a double. Pillows could also be much better. Overall, a great place to stay and I would certainly return.

We loved this place. The room was spacious, the bed was big and comfortable, and there was a refrigerator. The breakfast was great, as was the staff. The carpet was pretty worn on the stairs and halls, but everything else was in pretty good shape. We did have to park in the NCP parking lot a few blocks away, but that was no problem. And the location was wonderful-- for most of the Shakespeare activities, for the market, for the theater, and for great restaurants and stores. We would stay there again.

We had the most wonderful stay, everyone was kind and welcoming, the room was a delight, the service was excellent. My only small sadness was that they have removed their vegetarian breakfast from the menu, which meant we sadly were not able to enjoy breakfast there during our stay, but it wouldn’t stop me going back as there were plenty of other options around. Also there is no parking and the long stay places closest are very expensive. We simply parked further away and walked as we didn’t plan to use the car during our stay, but for some this could be an issue.

Bathroom dirty, room very hot had to sleep with windows open, dinner reservation not honoured as restaurant had closed down, breakfast staff excellent, food ok sausages tasted like frozen kids ones and no marmalade. General condition of property very poor, my 85 yr old Dad tripped at top of stairs on a threadbare hole in the landing carpet.

Lack of car parking and no lift to upper floors caused significant inconvenience as did the change of breakfast serving times without notice. The stair carpet was so frayed as to be highly dangerous. Conveniently positioned for the theatre and the restaurants of Sheep Street. Comfortable bed, good bed linen and towels, decent shower, but our room was in total darkness due to a broken Roman blind which we managed to partially raise ourselves using lengths of twine. Reporting this on check in it remained in attended throughout our three night stay.

Good location, good size room. We had to park at the hotel next door. The spiral stairs were crazy steep ( do not bring luggage) no food mid week. We had to open the windo for air and it was right on the street so lots of noise.

Lovely building with lots of character and nice ambience. Very central to the town and easy to access the theatres. The supper and breakfast were beautifully prepared. The piano player in the restaurant was an added bonus. The room was comfy if a little chilly as the radiators were not working properly (an extra blanket would be good). Staff really helpful first room we had let it down due to damaged shower and mold on the ceiling. Staff changed us to another room much nicer. Rooms would benefit from some updating.

Place was cute but quite old. The flooring in the room was uneven and though there was an AC it was too hot for the summer. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Happy we didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, no proper vegan options and but a lot good food nearby. Parking is quite difficult in this area, there is a lot but it’s laid and has a bunch of restrictions for timings. All the rooms are different in the hotel, but the bar downstairs is really cute.

The hotel was in a great place, in the centre. Unfortunately the hotel needs few upgrades. Our room was a 'superior' room but it needed modernising in terms of bathroom, tv, carpet etc. Certainly needs air conditioning. The hotel does not have a lift. It is a good 2 star hotel

Our room was small but adequate. Bed was large and comfortable, the windows could have benefited from some form of sheer blind or curtain, you couldn’t get dressed with the heavy drapes open as there was a building ( I think a school ) directly opposite, so you had to leave the curtains closed. The desk light has a bulb that needed replacing, the coffee bags provided were 9 months out of date! When I flagged this the very nice and helpful barman replaced them and also fixed the TV. The bathroom was an internal room so no direct daylight, the bathroom only had a shower, the lighting was poor, the light bulb over the shower was out, the light over the sink area was dull and kept flickering which meant the only light was a single light bulb and an inadequate wall light above the sink. My husband found it Impossible to shave and I also found it impossible to put my makeup on.

Lovely boutique hotel in the centre of Stratford upon Avon. Our room, number 10 was on the second floor overlooking the Main Street. It was very spacious with a large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The room had a small fridge which came in handy for cool drinks. The staff were friendly and happy to help. We had a great stay.

The property and hotel itself were steeped in history, and was very comfortable and quaint The staff were the highlight of the stay They were always smiling, happy to serve, and allowed us a late checkout without any issues I highly recommend this hotel

Great base in the heart of Stratford. Our room was at the back of the hotel which I think may be the best location given the position of the hotel. Room on small side but not an issue for us. Great bathroom/shower/towels. Fridge in the room very handy and complimentary water provided daily. Appreciated the complimentary continental breakfast too. Really friendly professional staff who made us feel very welcome. A little tired in places decor-wise but understand a refurb is scheduled at the end of the year. Only little gripe is the blurb mentioned discounted parking which is no longer the case but nevertheless highly recommended for a comfortable stay.

I’m so pleased to have found this spot and would happily come back. For theatre-goers, it is a quick walk back after the show, and while it is close to the centre of the town, it is very quiet. The rooms are lovely and comfortable — mine looked over the Guildhouse — and staff were all friendly and accommodating. I ate in the restaurant and recommend it as well.

Staff weren’t very welcoming. No food service on evening. Light bulbs not working in room. And being quizzed by staff who aren’t on duty asking us in the middle of the bar where we are going when we were resting to our room. Was absolutely not impressed.

The place was nice and clean, room was lovely. Main issue is that there is not enough staff. Poor guy was running around like a headless chicken checking people in and serving at the bar. It’s especially unhelpful when people ask him to take their luggage up to the room for them. The mind boggles as to how they managed to get it to the hotel without a porter but they desperately needed him to take it the last 20 metres. Perhaps they were exhausted. More staff are needed to take the pressure off.

A very pleasant stay, central location so very handed, staff great, had a superior room, we there for a week so bigger room was ideal, kitted out well everything you need, room had character . comfortable bed , nice and clean, Only slight grumble. Price of breakfast was steep. But as your in the town, plenty of options minutes walk away Highly recommend will definitely return

Lovely boutique hotel in the centre of Stratford upon Avon. Our room, number 10 was on the second floor overlooking the Main Street. It was very spacious with a large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The room had a small fridge which came in handy for cool drinks. The staff were friendly and happy to help. We had a great stay.

I chose the Townhouse for its proximity to the Theatre - just a few minutes' walk. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful, and my room was comfortable. I didn't eat there but the menu looked great and the restaurant has a lovely ambience.

We loved this place. The room was spacious, the bed was big and comfortable, and there was a refrigerator. The breakfast was great, as was the staff. The carpet was pretty worn on the stairs and halls, but everything else was in pretty good shape. We did have to park in the NCP parking lot a few blocks away, but that was no problem. And the location was wonderful-- for most of the Shakespeare activities, for the market, for the theater, and for great restaurants and stores. We would stay there again.

Good location, good size room. We had to park at the hotel next door. The spiral stairs were crazy steep ( do not bring luggage) no food mid week. We had to open the windo for air and it was right on the street so lots of noise.

Easy to access by car for unloading luggage. We were early and our luggage was stowed until checkin time so we were able to explore our surroundings on foot. Everything was convenient, shops, restaurants, theatre, all of which were an easy walk. A continental breakfast was available with our room, bonus. Highly recommend.

Hotel was ok, some misleading info on the advert like states parking available yet only limited 2hr parking and then you have to park across town. It also states cooked breakfast available for 8.95, yet to get cooked breakfast you also have to pay a further fee of £4 for a barista style coffee or coffee from a flask with the continental breakfast. Otherwise room was ok but a bit small and overlooked the road making it noisy.

Just returned from a lovely stay at the Townhouse, room was spacious and comfortable, had a great nights sleep. Its location is central so easy to get around and everything in walking distance. Staff very friendly and attentive and great atmosphere in the bar and lounge area. There was a good choice of substantial breakfasts using quality local produce and although this isn’t included in the price it was competitive within the local area. We had a great few days here and would definitely return and recommend.

We had the most wonderful stay, everyone was kind and welcoming, the room was a delight, the service was excellent. My only small sadness was that they have removed their vegetarian breakfast from the menu, which meant we sadly were not able to enjoy breakfast there during our stay, but it wouldn’t stop me going back as there were plenty of other options around. Also there is no parking and the long stay places closest are very expensive. We simply parked further away and walked as we didn’t plan to use the car during our stay, but for some this could be an issue.

Bathroom dirty, room very hot had to sleep with windows open, dinner reservation not honoured as restaurant had closed down, breakfast staff excellent, food ok sausages tasted like frozen kids ones and no marmalade. General condition of property very poor, my 85 yr old Dad tripped at top of stairs on a threadbare hole in the landing carpet.

I really liked this place in general and I would stay there again, facilities were fantastic, the location couldn't be better, its a lovely building and the staff were mostly very nice and helpful. I had the ground floor room and while it wasn't particularly secure, I didn't have anything valuable to lose so wasn't worried about the window not closing properly. It was recently under new management apparently, so we had some slight mis-communications, I certainly would've been more comfortable ordering a hearty breakfast if it'd been clearer exactly what was included in the breakfast I paid for, but I was given the public menu to order from, rather than a guest menu and no explanation. My friend did have some challenges with the chef getting upset about her having severe coeliac disease, and as we were sat next to the kitchen we could hear him grumbling and complaining and not taking it seriously which is a worry when a stray crumb might see her in hospital. The unprofessional chef was a blip on an otherwise great stay.

The staff were very friendly and quick to respond to any requests such as more tea and coffee for the room. The room itself was a nice size. It looked out onto Shakespeare's school house which was such a beautiful sight every morning. It was a little stuffy in the room and we had to prop the windows open with some books but this didnt let in a lot of air. The wallpaper looked a little scorched, possibly from the lamp next to the bed and there was what looked like a little damp mark coming from behind the wallpaper. They weren't doing bed and breakfast when I booked but there was a change of management just before our stay. We were offered to book breakfast a few days before our visit. I booked in for one breakfast for both of us, £15 pp. This was a little costly for what we had (one bacon sandwich, one sausage sandwich and a pot of tea) but there was plenty of options that would warrant the cost. All in all, perfect location, beautiful view from the room, clean and staff were lovely.
