Hotel Gótico

The staff were friendly and professional and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is well located in the Gothic Quarter and is centrally located. I was there with friends and we enjoyed the roof terrace. The hotel was very quiet.

Very good hotel in an excellent location for central Barca. Staff, without exception, friendly and helpful. Decent breakfast. Be aware that "room service" comes from outside by motorbike, not from the hotel, and in our case did not arrive in the alloted half hour slot. As it was 11.30pm by then, he was sent away without payment and delivery rejected.

Elevator was small

Great place. The only thing better would be a hot tub or two in the roof you can use til 10:30 or so….friendly staff who are very helpful

It’s a shame this hotel doesn’t have a bar. The bedroom is supplied with a kettle and cups but no tea/coffee/milk etc very odd !! The building from the outside doesn’t look like a hotel it looks more like an office block. We walked past.

Great hotel for exploring Barcelona. Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was well maintained. Nice rooftop patio as well. Very close to the cathedral and within the gothic quarter. A short stroll to La Rambla. The Jaune metro stop was right outside the door so very convenient for using the underground to all the top sites.

Clean room, large and comfortable bathroom, cute balcony overlooking the street. Solarium was an excellent and quiet location to sit and work.

Very conveniently located with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are small but had everything I really needed. Missed some standard shared amenities like a fitness room.

Le séjour dans cet hôte a été décevant, nous avons dû chaque jour ramasser des cheveux et laver notre lavabo plus douche, nous avons également dû retirer des vers qui grimpaient dans la douche même si on vous dit que le service de ménage est quotidien mais ça laisse à désirer. A notre arrivée, on nous a donné une chambre toute petite et sale, il y avait des cheveux et des poils partout au sol et dans le lavabo, le ménage n'avait clairement pas été fait, nous avons dû réclamer une autre chambre tellement celle ci était sale je ne comprends pas comment cet établissement a pu soi disant obtenir ses 4 étoiles... Le support du pommeau de douche était cassé, nous avons récupéré une chambre avec siège pour handicapés dans la douche ce qui a été très inconfortable car peu d'espace pour bouger et inondations systématiques après chaque passage sous la douche. Un soir nous avons appelé l'accueil pour demander des verres, on nous a dit de passer les chercher car eux ne venaient pas dans les chambres, en descendant nous avons vu qu'ils étaient trois à rien faire!!...Un vrai manque de professionnalisme !!, Nous n'irons plus dans cet hôtel, qui n'assure pas le service minimum sans compter un petit déjeuner médiocre avec du pain rassis, pas de choix de viennoiseries, ni céréales, aucun produits frais! En somme, cet hôtel est très cher!!Et pas au niveau!

This hotel was fabulous! Very clean throughout the hotel. The staff were very accommodating and kind. The breakfast was amazing. The hotel is located in the gothic center. Highly recommended staying here.

Great location and very safe—we were able to explore everything by foot. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which made our stay even better. The only downside was the cleaning, as we expected the bathroom to be cleaned more thoroughly each day. Otherwise, a wonderful hotel and would recommend.

El hotel está muy bien situado en la entrada del Barrio Gótico, sin embargo había un olor insoportable a aguas negras/podridas que provenía de algún desague en el baño y que invadía toda la habitación a tal punto que tuvimos que abrir la ventana

First, the staff was great, very friendly and helpful! The property is clean, the room was clean, but a horrible sewer smell in the bathroom. We reserved a double bed room, to our surprise it waa two single beds put together and not very comfortable for 2 people. The window we had was shaded out, so NO light came in our room which was dissapointing, and it opened to a utility area, so there were so many bugs we could not open it, and the room was very dark and stuffy. The location was great and near everything. The breakfast was good, we only ate the buffet once, but it was worth the 16E a piece. If I stayed there again I would request an outside facing room with one bed, if they have them.

We booked for 4 nights. We were initially checked in to room 219 which was awful. There was no day light; the small window was translucent and opened to a tiny light well. The room was cramped with a double bed and a sofa bed- at least the suitcases could go on this! We asked for a different room and were told this would be possible the next day. Hotel.com also contacted the hotel to request a move and this was handled very efficiently. We slept well and were delighted to move to room 206 the next day. It was a twin room, of a great size with enormous glass doors leading to a balcony on to the street. The rest of our stay was fantastic. The location is perfect and we had breakfast one morning which was excellent. The noise of the Gothic quarter including the Cathedral bells were all part of the experience. We felt the Hotel staff knew we had been given a poor room initially and that moving rooms after one night was not unusual. This is unsatisfactory and I don’t know how anyone can avoid this happening. It appears that booking a twin room increases the chance of getting a bigger room with daylight. We would recommend this hotel but only some of the rooms.

Great price for a clean, modern, comfortable hotel. Front desk staff were very helpful. However, it's right on a busy street and if you get a room at the front, the street noise is persistent for most of the night. Lots of drunk people yelling and singing.

Hotel is in a good location but the room not adequately soundproof. Difficult to sleep at night with all the outside noise.

Triple room on street was noisy due to late night revellers...bars close late. . Tv remote didn't work well. Strength of wifi was not not good Double room not on street was better

Room A/C didn’t work and asked for help at the front desk and they said they shut down for season???? Only option is open the window and we did me and my wife got bunch of goddamm mosquito bites, this so called 4 star hotel no A/C for the guest that’s is low, I’ll never come back and you should go here.

Great location, easy access to the metro, the gothic quarter as a whole. Bathroom was quite nice. Terrace window opened up for a pleasant evening, but once closed blocked noise and light for a good nights sleep. WiFi was weak, but servicable. The 'two pushed together singles to make a double' bed wasn't great. Definitely the worst quality bed we used in the country, but despite that I still really liked this hotel and would strongly consider rebooking here if i return to Barcelona.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and overall, it was a great experience! The location is ideal, with many major tourist attractions within walking distance, eliminating the need for taxis. For those who prefer public transportation, the metro is only a few minutes away, making it even easier to explore the area. The 24-hour front desk was incredibly helpful, especially when I had to check out at 3 a.m. for an early flight. The staff quickly arranged a taxi for me, which arrived within minutes. The hotel itself is very clean, modern, and secure, which made me feel comfortable throughout my stay. My room was surprisingly spacious – much larger than I expected for a European hotel – and featured a contemporary design with a large, modern bathroom. I highly recommend adding the buffet breakfast to your stay. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of options, and the breakfast hours (7:30–10:30 a.m.) were very convenient. My only issue was the lack of air conditioning in the fall. Although it was around 70°F outside, it still felt quite warm in the room, even with the window open. Fortunately, the front desk provided a fan, which made a huge difference. Without it, the room would have been uncomfortable during the day. The evenings were cooler, so I didn’t need the fan at night. While the fan helped, I’d hesitate to stay again during warmer fall days unless I'm certain a fan will be available.

Front desk was amazing. They helped us with everything we needed. Location was also ideal. Found the room walls were super thin so you heard everything and everyone. Also the fan in our room was broken so it was so hot in the room myself and my friend woke up in sweats.

The rooms were clean and well-kept. Staff were courteous and helpful, even offering to keep our bags after the noon checkout so we could keep exploring the town until our departure in the evening!

We had an amazing time at Hotel Gotico! The location couldn't be better—just a short stroll to the charming old quarter, and there were so many fantastic dining options nearby. The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We can’t wait to come back to Barcelona and stay here again!

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Gotico. It is centrally located to many restaurants and shops. On our first night we asked for a restaurant recommendation. The gentleman at the counter gave us one and told us how to get there. He made reservations for us as well. Once we got to the square, I was confused about the name of the restaurant so I called our hotel. The gentleman said “where are you? Wait there.” He walk to us and showed us to the restaurant. That was wonderfully kind of him and so appreciated!! All the staff were wonderful! Just as a tip, tour vans and buses are not permitted in the old section of Barcelona so you will need to walk to a meeting point. It is so much calmer in the old section so it is worth the walk to meet a tour. Taxis are permitted.

there was blood on my pillow case ...enough said. very rude night audit as well. i actually left the property and stayed in ibiza because I felt so disgusted by the treatment I received. I also wanted laundry service and they were extremely unhelpful and rude to me when I rwuested this service

We visited 4 cities on this trip: London, Lisbon, Barcelona, and Krakow. This hotel in Barcelona was the most expensive (over CAD $700 per night), even more than the Hilton Garden Inn at the London Heathrow Airport. It gave us the worst value. The biggest compliant I have is the staff at the front desk. On two occasions, I asked them to book me a taxi. The staff said it was not required; I could get a taxi in 5 minutes. Half an hour before our entry time to Sagrada Familia, the staff said it was cruise ship day and taxi companies would not take calls. I had to go to a street corner and flagged down a taxi myself. For our departure from the hotel to the Airport, I got the same answer: 5 minutes to get a taxi. When I was all set to depart, the front desk told me taxi companies were not taking calls. There were 3 young men at the front desk standing around, chatting. They did not help me flag down a taxi. I ran across the street to ask a taxi driver unloading to take us to the Airport. The front desk staff did not help with loading the luggage. I will not stay at this hotel and have serious reservation about returning to Barcelona.

I would have given 5 stars for service except that they did not honor the request for a handicap accessible room initially and my elderly mother fell trying to into the tub. When you book several months in advance there should be no reason for an accessible room to not be available.

This hotel is centrally located and is right across the street from the metro. There are multiple coffee, shops and places to eat this location does not lack anything at all.

It was a good stay although we missed more vegetarian options for breakfast and much better sound isolation towards the street noise.
