American Inn of Kinder

A budget-friendly hotel I have stayed in the past. The room was clean, the air conditioning worked great, and the bed was comfortable. The town also quiet and peaceful, which is really appreciated. I stay here on the Saturdays I go to the casino. The casino hotel rooms are so overpriced. For the price, this hotel is a great alternative for value and has everything I need for a comfortable stay.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Towels were dingy, roaches was under the covers, and flying bees and wasps are everywhere, one flew into my room, and took 30 minutes to get it to fly out. Me and my family have stayed there before and it was great, but not now. It must be under new management. The place has gone down in two years.

The hotel is clean the staff member was very helpful when checking me in was quick the AC was definitely cold the room was very clean plenty hot water and I like that they had a microwave and a refrigerator. When I come back to kinder I will probably stay in his hotel the room race or reasonable.

Let's start with the biggest problem: It was a non-smoking room and someone had been smoking in it. There was a lingering odor of cigarette smoke and an ashtray was left on the dresser, which I photographed for documentation against being charged. I notified a staff member, and would have changed rooms if I wasn't in a hurry. At some point during the second day of my stay, the ashtray was removed. I documented all this separately with the management through the Hotels.com website. That particular situation is largely responsible for my low rating. In its favor, my room was clean and the bed was comfortable. While the motel is at the low-end, what few amenities the property promises were faulty or broken. The coffee maker didn't work properly. The reservoir boiled the water but it didn't drip it through the filter basket. Not that it mattered because only envelopes of decaf coffee were provided. One of the two bedside lamps was broken--not simply a burned out bulb, the bulb socket was damaged and wires were exposed, possibly creating a shock or fire hazard. While packets of shampoo are offered, they are impossible to tear open. I used a small pair of travel scissors. Little things like these are unforced quality errors. In sum, I do not recommend this property and I won't return.
