An excellent choice~ The hotel was recommended to me and I'm so glad I stayed there. Yes, they "check all the boxes" but i was impressed by the little things that were above standard: "real" dishes, silverware, glassware and mugs (not paper and plastic disposable) used for the breakfast service, excellent mattresses and bed linens, quality updated bathroom fixtures and finishes. The staff was friendly and generous. Add ample, easy parking (I was driving a large box truck), and Microtel is an easy choice I'd happily make again.

Everything was clean and staff friendly. Nice amenities, availability of hottub undesirable as a early riser the checkout time doesn't allow use of this item that was part of my choosing this hotel.In my opinion it should be open no later then seven to allow adults the option ,treating water can be done at close seeings how thats to early as well.Also being pets friendly for people that do not have allergies is nice but should be limited to main floor only as it affected me the animal airborn dander.I matter too.

The new renovations were nice looking upgrades however the flooring was poorly done and large cracks around the edge of the walls that baseboard didn’t cover. Lots of ants on the floor in the room. The hot tub was murky and broke down the first night I was there. And the pool was also hazy. Breakfast offers were nice but they ran out of food super early and it took them almost 40 minutes to bring more out.

Keep driving. Don't give this place a second glance. Mathew Adebogun, the manager here is an abrasive and unpleasant man. In addition, the room was ~$250/ night and it was literally just big enough to hold a queen size bed, with paper thin walls. We attempted to stay here during a hockey tournament (with 2-3 teams staying). After driving for 14 hours, all we wanted to do was go into the hot tub, which we couldn’t do due to what seemed like 40 children in and around the hot tub. (Major safety concern also). After voicing concern, the manager called our room and proceeded to forcefully talk over my partner and say that “this is normal use of a hotel” and “good luck attempting to get a cancellation through Expedia”. We got a cancellation approved through Expedia immediately to which the HOTEL didn’t approve, so we had to do the whole process again. Ofel, the lady at the front desk was absolutely wonderful, and kind to us. The manager Mathew was the problem. Would not stay here as he doesn’t give any care or concern to his guests or his staff.

We arrived to a room that was not thoroughly cleaned. There was a dirty towel in the bathroom, and smears on one of the pillows. When I told the lady at the front desk, she said “Oh”. I will not stay there again.

They gave us a room that wasnt cleaned, bed unmade, keys were still in the room, we had to go back down, they then gave us another room, not properly stocked, had to ask for towels. The A/C was on in the room, had to call front desk for a maintainance man to come in to work on it

The hot tub was murky and broke down the first night I was there. And the pool was also hazy. Good hotel with great staff, we enjoyed the pool and water slide very much. The room was fairly clean, however the staff could clean the floors a bit better as there was dust underneath the edges of the bed and there was hairs from the previous guests. The room didn’t feel super cozy because it was quite small with hardwood floors and no carpet, or seating other than the beds, besides one desk char. The Beds were quite comfortable and the pillows were great. The bathroom was small but clean, crazy good water pressure in the shower. I don’t care for the communal soaps and shampoos, but that’s “eco friendly” Breakfast was pretty standard, however it was very crowded and there was a lack of seating as the “Lounge” doubled as the breakfast seating in the morning. My family had ended up having to sit in the lobby. Overall I would recommend this hotel as the staff was excellent and accommodating, it was a bit on the pricey side I would in my opinion for not being a super “fancy hotel” but room rates have gone up quite a bit in the last few years and the hotel is fairly new. I liked the online check-in and the option for a late checkout for a small fee.

Walls are paper thin, was right beside the ice machine (& pool) and could hear the ice machine drop new ice ALL night long like it was right in my room. Plus the staff come and take several buckets of ice at 5AM to stock the continental breakfast and make ALL kinds of noise. Rooms/bathrooms are ridiculously small. Will never stay here again.

Beautiful hotel! Room was clean, spacious and modern. Only downside was the room wasn’t very sound proofed, could hear every noise from the room beside and hallway. Otherwise, great experience!

Easy check In, staff were nice. 2 queen room was a little small for our family of 5. Pool & hot tub were a good size, warm and clean. Breakfast was good but not very much seating - had to eat in our room with our 3 kids.

The staff member was not at front counter when we came to check in, there was a bell so i rang it, waited about 5 min, heard no movement so i rang it again (3times quick succession) a staff member came about 2 min later and snatched the bell off the counter. She told me she was shutting off the water slide and didnt hear me, i told her no problem. She seemed annoyed that i had pulled her away from the other task. Also we cane for the breakfast around 830 and most of the food was gone- i was hoping they would put out more but they only refilled the bacon. So it was limited choice but still good food!

The lazy older lady at check-in ignored us for 10 minutes before offering to help. They made a big issue about the credit card I was using - even though I use it at hotels all across North America for the last 4 years without any issues. It was insane. There isn’t much for shopping in the area. There is Tim Hortons, and co-op gas station about a block away. Mary Browns Chicken is about 2 blocks away and the Casino is about 5 blocks away. The hotel has a water slide and I sure like the bbq option for meals the hotel provides.

Nice and clean hotel. Stayed 1 night as we were attending a concert at the casino which was walking distance. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. It was very busy with sports teams so was loud. Heard loud talking, laughing and coughing most of the night. Would stay again if ever in the area.

Great hotel to stay at on our drive to Alberta. Very friendly staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The breakfast the next day was fresh and hot. Not a lot of places to sit and eat. I would come back if I was in the area again.

The room was spotless, the beds comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding. Abby needs a real shout out! She was the breakfast person with a smile and she was personable and friendly as well! If I am ever in Lloydminster again I will be sure to stay here! I highly recommend anyone else to do the same!

I felt like my room was good. I thought the breakfast was great with lots of options: oatmeal and fixings, breads/pastries/toast, hard boiled eggs, scrambled or over hard eggs, sausage links or patties, waffles, a few cereals, juice, good coffee, and importantly for me they had a non-dairy milk (sometimes oatmilk sometimes almond).

The restaurant was the biggest issue. I’ve never gone somewhere that wanted me to cook my own steak on a BBQ. The rest of the menu was super limited and I had to drive somewhere else to eat dinner. Aside from that it’s a good hotel.
