I’ve stayed many times and that kinda says it all. But, I should mention the staff, room service and facilities are the best. It’s 2 blocks from the Kings Palace for God sakes!! It’s a great value.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They assisted with all inquiries. We had 5 rooms, one room had roaches and we were given another room. There were additional roaches seen in that room. A through spraying is probably needed on a regular basis, several times a year.

Beautiful older hotel with the most spacious room and the most kindest/friendliest, hospitable staff. They aim to please each guest no matter what is requested. The beds and pillows are soft and comfy. The balconies have a great view of the city and/or of the big Pagoda across the street. I didn’t even mind the monks early chanting some mornings. It was very spiritual and good for my soul. The hotel restaurant is also very convenient and I recommend their daily breakfast with differing daily menus which was quite delicious ranging from western foods to some local Khmer dishes. I regret that I didn’t have any time to swim in their indoor pool since I was out and about most of the time that I was there. I especially appreciate that the hotel offer multiple security guards posted at the entrance on the street which made me feel very safe while I was staying there. They were also very kind always offering a helping hand into or out of my transportation and they are best at keeping eager tuk tuk drivers at bay. All of their staffs daily acknowledgments and smiles left a very warm impression in my heart. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, I would be delighted and very satisfied to be able to return to the Palace Gate & Residence again someday.

Large room with very comfortable bed and great hot shower. Huge views from the balcony on the 9th floor. The staff was excellent and the breakfast superb. It was easy to walk from the hotel to explore, but when a car or tuk tuk was needed they were there rapidly. Great experience!

My favourite hotel in Phnom Penh. From the moment we were greeted by the driver at the airport to our check out 7 days later, we enjoyed every moment here. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. The location is perfect. The Wat directly opposite is very beautiful and I loved walking through there in the evenings. And it was always easy to get a tuk-tuk directly from the front of the hotel.

Staff felt a bit disconnected, seem to be more preoccupied with busloads of tourist arriving soon. We were greeted by staff in front of the hotel. As we entered the lobby, we were provided beverages and hand towels to freshen up. The room was spacious and even had a scale for weighing our bags. This was one of the worst stays I’ve had anywhere. After saying the hotel was full and my booking wasn’t available then took an hour to sort out a room. Then 30 more minutes to confirm. They said they’d have to move me after one day to a different room and that I should leave my suitcases packed. I have a conference to speak and they said they would move my stuff for me. This didn’t end up being the case. I missed a meeting while waiting for the room. I went upstairs to my room and then they wouldn’t let me carry my items to the room because they said they would do it for me. I waited about 20 minutes and they didn’t come up because my clothes were in my check in luggage. I went downstairs to see the front desk playing on their phones and luggage sitting there. I carried up my own luggage only to find the key didn’t work. The front desk then said they didn’t have any for me and they would work on it and I could come back later. At this point it’s 1 am and I have already missed a surprise party for my birthday and the guests were starting to leave as I’m two hours late. The next day I came into the hotel after my conference expecting a room move only to wait 30 minutes for them to tell me I’m staying in the same room. Overall the hotel was nice but the booking and organisation were a nightmare

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Palace Gate Hotel! Our suite was huge and comfortable, with great views. The common areas are lovely. The staff were all super nice and helpful in the hotel (less so in the restaurant for breakfast). Communication was excellent starting even before our arrival. We would skip the breakfast buffet next time though, since the staff couldn’t care enough to keep hot coffee available, and the supposedly warm food was usually cold. The food selection wasn’t great either. I hear the restaurant is good for dinner though, so it must be run by a different team in the evening.

Location is near royal palace, 2 parks nearby and seen from balcony, a few famous landmarks within walking distance. Quiet neighbourhood with easy access to transport and restaurants. Security staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spacious with good air conditioning and lots of hot water. The hotel was very clean inside and outside (staff were always seen cleaning). Strong blast of AC with a jasmine scent as soon as you walk though the main door which is great when you come in from the heat outside. Food from restaurant at the hotel were mediocre though (ordered steak which were so tough to cut/chew). Only complaint would be that they allow prostitutes into the hotel. When coming back to the hotel one evening, I watched as a guest brought a prostitute in, walked by reception, and to the elevator. Reception didn't say anything even though they saw. I ended up in the elevator with them and it was awkward to listen to them talk (there is only 1 elevator and it's very slow).
