Amazing stay at the Linda Vista Hotel. This hotel was our favourite stay during our 9 nights to Costa Rica mostly because of its breathtaking location facing Arenal Volcano and lake. We spent 2 nights at the Linda Vista and absolutely loved it! The location makes the 30 minutes detour out of La Fortuna absolutely worth it and would be the main reason why we would come back. Our room was just what we needed with a comfortable bed and a view of the surrounding mountains. The room was well equipped. The only improvement I see is that the bathroom, especially the shower, could use a deeper cleaning but overall it was ok for our needs. We spent a lot of time relaxing at the pool and it was really nice. The pool surroundings could also use a deeper cleaning but again, perfectly fine for our needs. Too bad the pool bar wasn’t in function, this could have been a nice addition to the hotel facilities. We were lucky enough to see the top of the Arenal Volcano multiple times directly from the pool and the restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant, we had great drinks and great service there. The food wasn’t the best but totally fine for a lunch in between two activities and the included breakfast was good. Overall, a good hotel in an amazing location with super friendly and helpful staff.

I loved the views this property gave! The room was basic but clean. But the VIEWS were everything! I loved the fact that they had a hiking trail on property, it was a good distance trail that gave a decent workout. We didn't eat at the restaurant but the drinks were good. The pool is well kept but there wasn't a pool bar like it advertised. Definitely would need a car to get anywhere since it's located about 30 minutes from most activities. I would stay again just for the views and peaceful atmosphere.

This hotel is luxurious with incredible views of Arenal Volcano. The room was clean and spacious. The meals and drinks were delicious and fresh. The pool and hot tub were the cherry on top. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend this hotel!

Pasamos un tiempo muy agradable en este hotel. La vista al Lago Arenal y al Volcán, desde la habitación, son maravillosas. Las áreas alrededor de las habitaciones están espectacularmente hermosas, la vegetación, los pájaros que anidan los árboles, la piscina y el jacuzzi muy ricos y con una vista muy bonita. Deberían incluir servicio de coctelería en la piscina. El personal es muy atento y servicial, aunque deberían incluir más aseo personal. En 25-30 minutos llegas a La Fortuna, 15 min al Parque Nacional Volcán Arenal… Volvería nuevamente!!!

The most incredible views of Arenal volcano and Lake Arenal-- none better. Great restaurant, great pool, great staff, nice hiking trail. Highly recommended, but it's on the far end of the volcano road loop if you're wanting to be closer to most La Fortuna commercial activities.

We stayed at the Hotel Linda Vista for 4 glorious nights. The property is beautiful, and the hotel doggie is super welcoming. The pool area is super nice, and our boys really enjoyed it. Daily breakfast, being inclusive, was a definite perk. The regular menu, other than breakfast, was a bit pricey. There are no microwaves which was a downfall since it wasn't in our budget to eat at the restaurant every night. The last night, I had to spray my entire bed down with bug repellant because the bugs were very heavy. I know Costa Rica obviously has bugs but feel some better control of this would be nice. We stayed at another property for two nights and this was not an issue. Overall, it was a great stay with a phenomenal view of the volcano.

Hotel is in a remote area close to the volcano overlooking the lake so quite beautiful. There isn’t much around but it is close to volcano and lake activities. The restaurant was amazing although service was lacking. Rooms were basic but clean and have a great view. It poured rain for the three days we were there; the only issue with this was the metal roof made so much noise with the rain at night. The pool area is quite small but beautiful and also has a hot tub. The staff were pretty much non existent but friendly when sought out. Room cleaning didn’t exist during our stay. All that said, the area is beautiful and I recommend if you’re looking for something quiet and remote. Plan for early evenings though as it gets dark by 6 and the road to access it quite narrow and windy. We made sure we were back before dark each night given the torrential rain and remoteness.

Bed Bugs and dated. We loved the view of the volcano and the pool and the restaurant. The facilities themselves are out of the 80's mostly. But being bitten by bedbugs overnight on our legs was too much. We loved eating at the restaurant as well. the whole place needs a good cleaning and update, and closed while they deal with the bed bug pest. We would stay again just for the view and restaurant if they didn't have bed bugs but would not stay again based on the bites

Hotel with good view, but the rooms are not clean, the beds, shower etc are not comfortable and very much outdated and require a lot of maintenance. A stay that was quite disappointing. But if you’re here just for the view, then it’s okay I guess. The restaurant attached to it is quite expensive but excellent. Plan a 40min trip to la Fortuna. Many big potholes on the way to the hotel.

This was a beautiful spot! The view alone makes it worth the trip. The pool and hot tub overlook Arenal, and our room was spacious and clean. Lots of bugs at night, but understandable given the location. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful as well. Absolutely loved our stay here! Already planning to return!

Es war alles super. Sehr sauber, freundliches und sehr hilfsbereites Personal. Unsere Kaffeemaschine war defekt und würde sofort durch eine neue ersetzt. Das Zimmer ist schön und groß,aber was echt fehlt ,ist ein Kühlschrank!!!!

About 30 minutes from the main city but amazing view and close to many activities. The view really is spectacular! Breakfast in the morning was pretty good. you will need a car to get around. Rooms themselves are pretty dated, I got a junior suite and for some reason the two beds were facing each other which was a bit strange.

Incredible views of the volcano and lake! Super friendly and helpful staff. Loved the bird feeders, the window placements, and abundant viewing areas. Rooms are a little dated and sparse (a TV from two decades ago, erratic wifi, and lack of power outlets), but they were clean and comfortable. I would recommend bringing body wash if you don’t like small hand soap to shower with. The breakfast was decent, maybe a tiny step above a continental breakfast. I would not recommend eating at the restaurant for other meals though. It was pricy, mediocre quality, and didn’t taste great. Overall, I would recommend it and would stay here again.

The location is better than I could have expected! You get panoramic views of the lake and volcano. Yes, it’s not in La Fortuna, but we actually appreciated that more given the quiet atmosphere, immersed in nature, views and close to small local restaurants. The hot tub and pool are a great lounging space to soak in the views. The rooms are a bit dated but have everything you’ll need for a great stay.

The views were spectacular. The rooms were outdated. The bed was terrible as was the bedding. The bathroom shower didn’t drain properly so you stood in water. The bathroom was very tight, no soap or shampoo or hanging towels. The food was basic and without variety. We had to have service repair the glass sliding door lock when we arrived because it didn’t lock. Thankfully the area seemed safe because the doors didn’t have deadbolt locks or secure stops.

Breakfast was limited to a choice of two dishes in the morning. Coffee and juice were excellent. I got to the property early and couldn't check in, but staff allowed me to leave my bags behind the counter. Staff helped me navigate local transportation. Ventilation was an issue in the rooms, though it could've been the time of the year and not able to be helped as I did go during the rain season. Room towels and bathing suits did dry well over the course of a day.

Hotel is in a remote area close to the volcano overlooking the lake so quite beautiful. There isn’t much around but it is close to volcano and lake activities. The restaurant was amazing although service was lacking. Rooms were basic but clean and have a great view. It poured rain for the three days we were there; the only issue with this was the metal roof made so much noise with the rain at night. The pool area is quite small but beautiful and also has a hot tub. The staff were pretty much non existent but friendly when sought out. Room cleaning didn’t exist during our stay. All that said, the area is beautiful and I recommend if you’re looking for something quiet and remote. Plan for early evenings though as it gets dark by 6 and the road to access it quite narrow and windy. We made sure we were back before dark each night given the torrential rain and remoteness.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, we got delayed on our way to the hotel so were going to arrive around 9pm when the reception closes, we communcated through the hotels.com chat and the hotel were responsive and were able to leave our room key with the security guard. The hotel is in an excellent location with great views of the lake and volcano. We had a rental car during our trip which was useful as the hotel is a more remote location. The breakfast was excellent.

The location of this property is great. It’s far away from La Fortuna which I liked. La Fortuna is crowded and touristy. El Castillo has beautiful views and is out of the crazy tourist stuff. I highly recommend

About 30 minutes from the main city but amazing view and close to many activities. The view really is spectacular! Breakfast in the morning was pretty good. you will need a car to get around. Rooms themselves are pretty dated, I got a junior suite and for some reason the two beds were facing each other which was a bit strange.

Incredibly beautiful property with unmatched views of Lake Arenal and the Arenal Volcano. About 25 minutes outside the chaos of La Fortuna. If you want a quiet stay, but close enough to all the activities in La Fortuna, then this place is unmatched. If there was any complaint, it’d be a dog barking nearby and the bugs, but heck, you’re in rural Costa Rica, which is expected.

The property was well looked after. Comfortable with an amazing few of the volcano and Arenal Lake Need a car as it is a little out of the way. Nice breakfast and the restaurant served lunch & dinner. We a nice dinner with a wonderful view. We enjoyed our stay

This is an excellent option for those driving as it's beautiful views are due it's somewhat remote location (it's about 20 minutes from main road); however it's not difficult or dangerous to get to, it just takes time. I would especially recommend to couples.

Hotel and checkin staff were fabulous. Restaurant was disappointing and served a $40 fish special fried to a crisp with less than an ounce of meat. We do not recommend the restaurant for dinner as food was over priced and over cooked.

This hotel is luxurious with incredible views of Arenal Volcano. The room was clean and spacious. The meals and drinks were delicious and fresh. The pool and hot tub were the cherry on top. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend this hotel!

The view was spectacular. The restaurant had fantastic food. The chef’s presentation was artistic. The pool and the common area terrace have beautiful views. The only suggestion will be to add screens to the windows. This hotel has the best view of Arenal. It’s at the other side of the touristic area.

Incredible views of the volcano and lake! Super friendly and helpful staff. Loved the bird feeders, the window placements, and abundant viewing areas. Rooms are a little dated and sparse (a TV from two decades ago, erratic wifi, and lack of power outlets), but they were clean and comfortable. I would recommend bringing body wash if you don’t like small hand soap to shower with. The breakfast was decent, maybe a tiny step above a continental breakfast. I would not recommend eating at the restaurant for other meals though. It was pricy, mediocre quality, and didn’t taste great. Overall, I would recommend it and would stay here again.

I cannot say enough about this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The concierge helped us plan a day trip. He noticed we would miss breakfast so he arranged for a takeout. When we being picked one of the staff walked the breakfast out to us. The view from your patio is breath taking. Now let's talk about the food. Every meal was excellent and the included breakfast gave you 3 choices. American traditional and fruit plate. All of which were delicious.

There were stunning lake and volcano views from all areas of the property. The pool was clean and beautiful. The property was located far from town which made it quiet. Breakfast was limited to a choice of two dishes in the morning. Coffee and juice were excellent. I got to the property early and couldn't check in, but staff allowed me to leave my bags behind the counter. Staff helped me navigate local transportation. Ventilation was an issue in the rooms, though it could've been the time of the year and not able to be helped as I did go during the rain season. Room towels and bathing suits did dry well over the course of a day.

The view from the hotel is fabulous. The pool is really nice. The guy in the reception was very helpful to arrange a booking for zipline. We got a time before lunch even though the website said it was fully booked. We choose to do zipline at Sky Adventure that is next to the hotel.
