A not so hidden gem with a rustic plantation ambiance. Lush surroundings, great parking, friendly staff, convenient to Volcano National Park. The 1/2 mile loop trail behind the property was a fun morning picker-upper to get the day started. It’s a little quirky that the guest check-in is in the gift shop, very laid back but service is wonderful. The restaurant is top notch and the portions are reasonable for the price. No tv in room which we did miss after a hard hike at Volcano, but not a deal breaker. in room gas stove was a cozy plus. The only thing we wish was different is the shower. The bathroom was plenty big but the single stand in shower was tight. Did appreciate the towel warmer . The night air was filled with coqui whistlings but we got used to it. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Loved our stay at this property! It was the perfect location to be close to volcano national park and the property was beautifully taken care of. We enjoyed relaxing at the hot tub and walking the nature trails during our stay. We hope to come back and visit!

We loved our stay here, such a cute place near the park with an outstanding vibe. The grounds are quiet, and even has a nature trail. Highlight was the jungle jacuzzi. Restaurant and staff were top notch as well. Recommend the lamb chops and the ribeye.

I loved everything about Kilauea Lodge. The lush rain forest surrounding the lodge, the relaxing and soothing hot tub, our very comfortable and spacious room and the delicious dinner at the lodge restaurant. We had a wonderful time!

What a wonderful resort that's only a 5 minute drive to the entrance of Volcano National Park. The rooms are quaint with little fireplaces, a comfortable bed and bath. Hot tub to enjoy. Had breakfast at the restaurant and enjoyed crab cake eggs benedict and corned beef hash. Laid back and relaxing!

It was a wonderfully clean and excellent hotel. Despite having a small number of guest rooms, the facilities were well-equipped, allowing for a very comfortable stay. We were greeted upon arrival and got an early check-in which was very nice. There are lots of room options, and our building had a common area with a fireplace. A very friendly young man even can to light it for us! The place uses catchment for showering and out of the tap but supplies bottled water for drinking. I do wish that bottle wasn't located in the bathroom. We had a two night stay and did not get a room refresh although the staff said to just ask and we could get whatever we needed The restaurant is lovely and we had the breakfast that is available for guests on the one day. Thank you for a great couple days!

My husband and I stayed here for one night after exploring the national park just a few minutes down the road. The staff who greeted us at check-in were so friendly and welcoming. Our room was comfortable with plenty of space. We enjoyed dinner in our room from the on-site restaurant where we also had breakfast prior to checking out. I highly recommend eating here and checking out the gift shop full of Hawaiian goods. Also, in the gift shop is a cooler of wine/beer which can be enjoyed in the comfort of your room. The staff was gracious enough let us borrow wine glasses and a corkscrew for the night. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay while visiting the national park. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer!

This is a very classic place. The grounds are lovely and so close to Volcanic National Park. The gift shop has very nice items at reasonable prices. The restaurant (although a little dark) is handy and serves great food and drinks. Although it’s an old establishment, it doesn’t have that worn and tired look. Has a patina.

Fantastic spot, rustic and older facilities but all in good clean shape. Newly renovated bathrooms by the look of them. Really cosy feel, staff over-the-top friendly. Was a little leery due to the state of most places in Volcano but this was a fantastic suprise. So close to all the great hiking spots. Food in the restaurant was tasty.
