Hampton Inn by Hilton Port Hope Cobourg

I arrived at around 10pm and there was no parking in front. I circled the lot for about 10 minutes for a space to open up. No signage/directions for additional parking. Rm 319 - There was no soap dispenser in the shower - missing. Only one of the two plug outlets in bathroom worked. The staff at front desk did not seem very interested or concerned about my comments and chances are they did not advise housekeeping. Otherwise - room clean and brekky was fine.

We were in the pool and there were no towels so we called the front desk and were no towels. So I said are we suppose to drip all the way to our rooms? 20 or so min later someone came in with 6 towels when there was 10 in the pool and started this is all we have. You pool is open 10 pm nightly why wouldn’t you have sufficient towels when you have a full hotel ?

Everything was great, finally a pool that was warm enough to get into. One of the best breakfast we have had from a hotel, sausages, western omelette, homefries ( were awesome they were not deep fried ), toast, begals, muffins, waffles, cereal, yogurt, 3 types of fresh fruits, hard boiled eggs, coffee ( 3 types light/dark roast and decaf, tea, juice, with lots of seating. Definitely stay there again.

Everything was pretty clean, breakfast was good, comfy beds, decent pool, easy check in. A hot tub would have been nice in the pool area, a few things in the room could have been cleaner (found a candy wrapper on the floor, a bit of pink mold in tub - nothing major) and fitted sheets didn't fit the beds, they kept sliding off. Nothing worth a complaint though. Overall a nice stay!

Staff friendly, hotel common areas are clean, rooms nice and clean, hot water for shower - all good 👍 complementary breakfast very nice. Indoor pool good, but could use a scrub down of pool walls just above the water line. Very quiet when we stayed. Easy access to 401. Walking distance to local grocery store, restaurants and a Tim Hortons! Would definitely stay here again! Thank you Hilton Hampton in Port Hope!!!

The staff is great, but the pool hours are not ideal (it closes early), the ice machine is out of order, and there is no recycling bin available.

The staff was excellent. I called ahead of my stay to see if it would be possible to check in early and I was told that would not be a problem. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The only slight issue was that the breakfast items were a little depleted and were not replenished. But the place was great - clean and welcoming.

The staff and the facilities were clean and newer. The morning breakfast has a good selection. However my room had not been cleaned properly. I saw 3 different pieces of sequence (maybe from a dance competition outfit) in the room on the carpet. The floor had not been vacuumed. Also there was a small piece of crumpled up wood on the office chair.

The staff were great. The pool had a layer of grime around it. The rooms are not the cleanest I’ve seen. Dirt collecting in corners, the inside of garbages had garbage in them if you took out the bag.

Really disappointed with this Hampton inn. Room condition below standard. Shower plugged, dirty caulking in bathroom, no water glasses in bathroom, no clock or radio, no paper/pens, limited tv options, no maps or info of area, mattress was shaky and showed its age, and Chairs uncomfortable. What happened to the small details that can make the stay memorable? We have never been disappointed before at an Hampton Inn.

The bathroom shower already shows some water damage (it seems they used wrong construction materials in shower) as brown/yellowish stains appear. The bed was comfortable but pillows not so much. Our room was clean.

Found Cheerios from previous people stay in the arm chair when we arrived room was hot and sticky not cool at all shampoo conditioner and body wash was all empty in the shower had to go down and get my own refills and then could not change them just had to leave them on floor to use garbages did not get emptied and were over flowing when we left. Beds were comfortable and front staff was very polite to deal with but conditions were less than ideal especially for the higher price of rooms in the area this was the second time I stayed at this hotel first time was a nightmare but we decided to give another shot as first time was during Covid and we appreciate that was hard for staff however will likely never go back

Nice modern room, walkin shower, comfortable bed. Carpet had remnants of potato chips from previous occupants. Good breakfast - lots of variety. Location 5 mins from town.

Nice comfortable stay, clean room, although the bathroom could use some updating, our showerhead leaked and the shower pan is a old. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, but the room HVAC system needs an update. We will stay again next time we visit family.

Ive stayed at this hotel several times but on this occasion did not have a good experience as the HVAC system was very loud and kept waking me up. Not great for a $240 room

I would have appreciated to know about the pool and the selection on the tv is horrible, no guide and no streaming

The location and the room were just fine, but there were some maintenance issues. Water pressure in the shower was almost non existent, the showerhead itself was stuck in a position that provided minimum water, the USB ports near the beds were broken. But the room was clean and quiet, and the staff very pleasant. Management must learn to stop skimping on the small stuff. And one more thing; there is a big construction site behind the building which I imagine could be very noisy during the week.

Rooms were clean and large.

It was our second time at this hotel, other then 1 of our beds and chair nearly falling apart. Place was clean, quiet and the breakfast is very good.

Not great things to say about this stay. - The air conditioning unit was so loud - The sliding “barn door” for the washroom never stayed closed - The television had no guide and no streaming link We would not stay at a Hilton brand hotel again

Only thing I did not like was, I could not ajust the heat in my room. It was cool

Heat was set high. Was indicating 23.2 degrees in bdrm. Put A/C on. Auto set for 19.5 degrees. Seem I could not set it. Pillows not comfortable. Kept waking up, and looking for them.

Their payment system wasn't working - I was forced to pay cash for the room even though they had my credit card on file. I also had the credit card with me, but they only would take my Debit card, added an additional $50 security to the card which I had to return to the counter to reclaim. Overall a Mickey Mouse operation.

Nothing specifically wrong with hotel but they had zero record of my stay booked via Expedia! I booked 2 nights 3 weeks prior to my stay, showed confirmation number and itinerary and the hotel had zero info on it. I was able to secure 1 nights stay but was screwed over for my second night because they had no rooms available!

Overbooked and cancelled at 1 am

New hotel but not enough staff. Arrived at 930pm and need to wait for 10 mins for the staff checked me in as i want to go to the room asap. Went in front of the room given and it doesnylt open the door called whos in charge told me she needs to give me another card and tried it again and then a lady from the room told me that shes on that room and i think i woke her up. I feel embarrased and stupid going in which is not my room went to the lobby again and gave me another room. And another guest wants to checked in waited forever again. If its gonna be like that this hotel will go down. Thanks

Cleaning and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. Front desk staff were not at all helpful and the manager was very dismissive. My wife and I stayed for 11 nights while we were waiting for our new house to be completed. The hotel has a policy of no service (housekeeping, fresh towels, garbage removal, etc.) until the fifth day of your stay. All service is supposed to be by request. On the fourth day we asked the front desk for fresh towels and put our used towels on the floor. None arrived. On the fifth day my wife again asked the front desk for fresh towels, and again, none arrived. That night I met a cleaning staff in the hall and she quickly supplied us with towels. I spoke to the manager the next day, and while he did send someone to freshen up the room, he really wasn't very interested in hearing me out. In the end, our total cost for 11 nights was $2187 and that got us one set of clean towels and the room freshened once. I guess Hampton management has decided to offer AirBnb services while still charging hotel prices.

Very quiet area, and close to Cobourg with easy access to the 401. Very clean, friendly, and comfortable.

Beautiful hotel, well taken care of, clean. Not much around the hotel and highway is noisy but that’s no fault of the hotel.

Beautiful new hotel, but literally in middle of a field which is a bit disconcerting at first.

Checkin was the standard wait time. The room was clean. Maid service was every 2 days and that included the cups. The breakfast was sparse. No bacon or eggs.

Absolutely disgusting breakfast. $225 a night and you serve this? No eggs for over 20 mins, and then finally they arrive and it's gross nasty veggie omelets? So disappointing. The woman serving the food isn't even wearing proper attire. She looks like a guest. Extremely unprofessional and unsanitary. The sign says happiness starts here but I'm pretty sure only my depression did. Forgot to mention Coffee is terrible. Only decaf and dark roast... get your $&#^# together 1. 3 different staff members grabbing plates in line with customers for the breakfast buffet is insane. I have never seen in my life staff eat the food out for the customers and then go to the meeting room to eat it all at once and talk and catch up from the weekend. Look at the cameras on August 21 at roughly 7:30 in the morning. Waited several minutes for someone to come out so I can check out. Had to ring the bell multiple times. One of them forgot their pototaos at the front desk. I'll add the photos to verify this. 2. The key for the room randomly stopped working twice.. that's unheard of for a 3 night stay. 3. We asked for our room to be cleaned and the woman said "right away no problem" and no one ever came. 4. Our room didn't have any new tissues, empty shampoo bottle and the sheets smelt odd and the whole room smelt like animal fabric freshner? 5. Men's bathroom in lobby didn't have toilet paper or soap. The lack of care for service and hospitality is clear.

Lovely stay. Comfortable and clean. My little ones really enjoyed the swimming pool. I appreciated having coffee in the evenings. They had everything you needed. The hot breakfast each morning was well organized and replenished quickly. A very nice stay.
