Courtyard by Marriott Paramus

It\'s advertised as having a pool. "It\'s closed due to Covid" what a nonsense thing to say in December 2024.

If you are looking for a basic stay, it is okay. Not luxury. Rooms are not really big. The location is on the side of the highway: a small Gym, and a small restaurant with a minimal menu. There was a computer set up for work, but it was terribly slow, and I'm not sure if those things are actually being checked.

Amazing stay. Loved the EV chargers.

Very Easy to drive past the exit from route 17 North (The only Entrance). I would estimate that the majority of guests miss the entrance…and the “correction” is a Long Journey!! Lacking Water Pressure in Shower (always a drag). Returned to hotel late in the evening and found the glass doors entering the lobby locked. I saw a staff member behind the desk and I proceeded to tap the glass. Received a stern instruction on how to enter “next time” While walking through the lobby during the “free breakfast” asked for a coffee. As staff member began to ring it up, I asked if there is a charge…”There is Free Coffee in Your ROOM” Good to Know. Lastly; 2 Nights on Route 17 in Paramus N.J….Outrageously Priced. No Pool…but the bed DID have 6 pillows…So, There’s That.

Ongoing construction work at 9:00 am. Unannounced.

Nice hotel with nice staff, comfortable rooms in a convenient location, but the ongoing construction ruins everything, especially if you want to sleep in. It is great to have signage at the entrance and across the hotel, but I would not come to this place if I knew that the renovation is ongoing. A couple of grievances: - I could hear construction notices—not loud but annoying enough to wake up—in the room right above me on the fourth floor, which itself is closed for guests, at around 8-8:30am, even though posters say that work starts at 9am - Cleaning ladies and workers were interacting loudly right next to our door - There was no water starting from 9:30am — I was notified on check-in, when I already paid for the room online and it was non-refundable. - Elevators busy with construction workers during the day Is it really essential to do the construction work so early in the morning? Why not do major and loud work after the regular check-out hours and before check-in?

Nice little hotel. Everyone was super nice. Gym was nice and clean but no towels available and the water from the filtered water station tasted wierd.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the gym is nice. Parking is convenient although getting in and out of the property can be a bit of a hassle sometimes due to the traffic that builds up at the intersection of the GS Parkway and Rt. 17.

Quiet, free parking, would stay again.

The hotel is very difficult to find at night. The courtyard sign on route 17 is black and almost invisible when you were passing by on the road. The rooms were clean and efficient, but are rundown. There is insufficient light in the bathroom to even shave. It is also surprising to find rooms with bathtubs at, this point, which means that they have not recently been refurbished. The seating in the bistro was disgusting. There were stains on all the chairs. The staff was very nice and pleasant to deal with.

The rooms smelled very musty and I had a really difficult time checking out early. I found the staff to be really unhelpful

The hotel is situated on Route 17 in a safe and welcoming area, with plenty of parking available. However, missing a turn on Route 17 is highly possible if you're not paying close attention to GPS, so be mindful of navigation. The staff was exceptional—helpful, courteous, and respectful throughout our stay. Special thanks to Willy for providing excellent service on the evening of 4/26/2025. Cleanliness was a standout feature, with spotless rooms, corridors, and bathrooms, all well-lit for added comfort. A notice indicated ongoing renovations. We stayed in room 443, which was clean and well-maintained. However, the hot water was an issue, with the shower being almost cold. Fortunately, the warm temperatures on 4/27/2025 made it manageable. Breakfast is available for $10 per person, though there is no complimentary coffee (in the lobby). The breakfast food selection is limited, likely to reduce food waste. In my experience, I've observed that some guests take more food than they can finish, only to discard it. Controlled portions help minimize this waste and also promote healthier eating habits, ensuring people consume only what they need. Overall, this hotel is the best in my opinion, and I highly recommend it. If I find myself in the area again, I will gladly return.

Upon our arrival we found dried blood marks on the bathroom floor and generally not clean. We called the front desk at 6:00PM and were told housekeeping left for the day and nothing could be done. We mopped the floor

Super clean. Everything I look for in a hotel and nothing I don’t. A tad bit noisy due to construction and a room near a door but otherwise great.

The hotel is off of a very busy highway so getting in and out each day was a hassle but the location provided a lot of places to shop and eat. My only complaints about the room is that the pillows were super thin and uncomfortable, the light from the hallway shines brightly under the room of the door, and the refrigerator wasn’t cold enough. However, overall, it was a very nice experience and a comfortable stay.

The room was ok the shower was no good. No water pressure and bathtub was too little. Room was for hearing impaired which I did not like

Great hotel - holy smokes! Room was perfect and very well maintained. Only complaint was it was very noisy from the busy street noise. Highly recommend this hotel but ask for a room away from the street.

The entrance into the hotel is terrible. The hotel is not clearly marked and the entrance is into a different parking lot. The room is fine but dated the fan in the bathroom. Sounds like a motorboat is in your room and it was the same in the room I stayed in in my last visit. One of the elevators is broken and the same situation existed during my last visit.

The nice room design, sofa in the room, modern bathroom, comfortable king-sized bed and helpful staff make this my favorite hotel.

very friendly front desk staff. Room was very nice. Only thing i did not like is the toilet in the bathroom is very low to the ground and its kinda cramped for bigger people but over all it was a very nice stay

Liked the room layout

THE INTERNET CONNECTION WAS NONE. THE FRONT DESK SAID SERVER WAS DOWN AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BUT I FELT THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. CLIENTS PAY A LOT OF MONEY TO STAY AND NEED TO HAVE ACCESS.

We had an issue with booking that led to me having to pay more than double in addition to what I already paid.

Check in had problem system down couldn't process another card said it would be fixed at check out wasnt at check in say it may not be fixed Bistro great in morning in afternoon ordered meatbals after 10 minutes told i had another 10 or 15 minute wait let customer know time frame when ordering if unusually long had to cancel order Overall stay great

Front desk very accommodating very nice highly recommend

Operations supervisor was extremely rude when a situation occurred with our microwave. When trying to explain, she immediately made us seem stupid and had an attitude. Never will stay at this property again. The other hotel guests even asked if we were okay but she couldn’t even do anything but be rude. Customer service is key in running a business and I will take my business elsewhere because of that. Customer experience specialist was completely understanding and apologized on behalf of the establishment which I am greatly for but still my stay was uncomfortable after that incident.

The property is very well maintained & located in a very accessible place in New Jersey. The staff at the front desk were very warmth and a nice receptionist offered her spot when we told her there wasn’t any parking spot left. The room was super spacious & smells clean. The linens are fresh. Just a great place to stay every time we visit NYC.

Just trust me, They are dishonest, they said they would comp us for a mistake they made 46.00, we never received it and a week later they charged our card an additional 31.00

The manager was very rude. I made the reservation just past midnight and booked room for the 28th and when I got to the hotel he informed me that my reservation was for a 4 pm check in. I had nowhere to go and he wouldn’t even let me stay in the lobby for a couple hours so that I could get to my rental car at 7 am. Anyways I would never recommend this hotel to anyone

Perfect spot - the only negative is the maze, getting in and out.

The access to this hotel has to be the worst I’ve ever encountered. There is only one access point to the facility and it is right next to a busy ramp from a major interstate road system.

Hotel was fine but the location is horrendous, with a very dangerous, unlit and unsigned entrance and exit from/into a very busy highway. I would never stay there again.

It was hard to get to and hard to get out of it from route 17.

The hotel was in good shape and the staff is friendly. The bar amenities were OK. The only downside is the the location. It is located by Route 17 which is a difficult place to get in and out of.

This property is on an inconvenient and very busy road.

The hotel was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. The only complaint that I would say is the location. It can be hard to get to and from during the normal Route 17 traffic even worse on a Saturday.

Comfortable room in convenient location. On two major highways but the beds are a distance from the windows and we requested and were given a room off the courtyard which was a bit quieter.

Loved this hotel stay, bed was very comfortable. Clean modern room. My only complaint is that it’s hard to see the entrance to the hotel off the highway, and getting out from hotel to the highway is anti- intuitive and bizarre.

We had a great one night stay. There was something about the feel of the room. Yes it was pretty and comfortable and clean, but it had a great flow. It didn't feel like a small box. We stayed at the Ramada Inn the week before, and it was fine however this was much better. This will definitely be our hotel of choice when we are in the New Jersey area. Also enjoyed the Starbucks cafe for breakfast. Thanks!

Convenient location to trip destination. Helpful professional plesant staff. Building in good condition clean well maintained, room specific: clean everything in good working order nice layout. Boo’s no breakfast included, no complimentary (real) coffee in loby.

I was so annoyed by this trip, for the amount I paid for one night to the actual service I got was disappointing. The pool IS NOT OPEN, which was a deciding factor for me when choosing a place. As well they did not have my second room that was rented ready until almost 6pm. No management came to talk to us, did not offer a cent back. Also you would think that for $300.00 a night they would offer complimentary coffee...NOPE.

The room was excellent. The staff was excellent. This specific Courtyard does NOT include a free breakfast--very disappointing!!! The bistro sells a few breakfast items at ridiculously high prices. We will not book a reservation here again.

The hotel is very basic. Lousy food and nothing special.

The hotel was nice, but we were very irritated by the breakfast that was included with our room rate at $45 for two. The options were very limited and there was NO way to spend close to $22/person from the limited menu. Do NOT opt for the breakfast included in the rate.

This was a very comfortable and clean hotel. I was disappointed that breakfast was not included when many lower cost hotels do include breakfast. Years ago, when I was working, I stayed in many Courtyards where they served wonderful breakfasts.

Overall it was fine. I was disappointed that you do not offer complimentary coffee for your guests in the morning.
