Perfectly located, room quite small but adequate in part because of a clever construction that is at once an open closet, a storage shelf, coffee and fridge cabinet and a desk. It cuts off your entry into the room but equally makes the small room liveable. Parking be warned, there is no place to stop in front of the hotel. The hotel has some parking places in its courtyard behind for a reasonable €15 per night, but access to it is down an entry prohibited pedestrian street for which you ideally should have the hotel’s safe conduct paper in case you are stopped by police. My friend waited in the car on a side street while I went in to find all this out, get directions and have a permit printed. Don’t know why this is not explained and provided online? Breakfast excellent. Big buffet with service.

Property was nice and breakfast was very good. Do not like that we had to request front desk to activate the AC so we could control it room was hot for a few hours before we complained that it wasn’t working just to be informed they had not turned it on for us to control and the queen bed was 2 beds pushed together. Overall not bad but for the price expected better.

Front desk staff was super friendly. Upgraded us to a nicer room when we got there which was very nice. Beautiful breakfast area. Only downside was the parking. The parking they do have is super tight and the most stressful my husband experienced our entire European road trip. You also have to pay for the parking, which I wish was included in the price of the stay.

Amazing location and it has a big courtyard for parking for customers. Make sure you get the address to enter this, as you would never find it, and it's so busy down there, you can't park in front to drop off your stuff and ask. Quiet, great breakfast and the people at the front desk were the best. Would highly recommend.

Loved it! Excellent location (very shirt walk to everything!) Superb breakfast, small(ish) room but comfortable and clean, okay aircon, elevator, FREE BIKES!!!! Loved the ability to sight-see via bikes. Definitely stay here for laction/facilities vs price!

This is a hotel located in an excellent location in the city center, very close to all the sites. Good and varied breakfast and excellent service. An air conditioner in a room that needs improvement does not cool sufficiently even though it was on maximum. The double mattress is springy and uncomfortable so that two sleepers together feel every movement of their partner. Excellent cleaning service, excellent reception service.

lets start with the good - fantastic location, great breakfast and friendly staff. now onto opportunities for improvement - my room was incredibly dated, smelled old and musty. my allergies were SO bad in the room I had to keep the window open (it was 40F/4.5C) and I started getting sick after 2 days. I tried switching my room after the first night (arrived late at night) but they were unable to accommodate. all 3 of my friends rooms were MUCH better so hopfully they update all the remaining rooms soon!

A Dirty toilet was the start of an unremarkable and disappointing stay. Thin towels were disgusting, and no washcloths. Hotel is in severe need of updating. Carpet was worn, and seemed unsanitary. Staff was not particularly friendly. Breakfast selections were ok. I won’t be back.

There was a construction going on on the floors that I was stayed so everywhere was dust. I did not hear noise as I was leaving the Hotel in the morning and coming back in the evening. Breakfast was good in general. N

A disappointment overall. Great location, professional staff and a very good breakfast buffet but the room was small, carpet was dated and dirty and the bed was not comfortable (my wife hardly slept as she could feel the springs). Church chimes at 7 am are interesting but very loud and went on for some time. Not the hotel to pick if you want to sleep in but a decent choice if you want to be central and get up early.

This historic hotel had the best possible location for our trip. It was steps away from the main sites, including Marienplatz, Hofbrauhaus, and shopping. The hotel itself was lovely - a very clean, spacious room. The included breakfast was delicious and had so many options. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will absolutely choose Hotel Schlicker for our next stay in Munich!

This is a great hotel and I look forward to my next stay. The location is fabulous, breakfast was impressive and the ladies at the front desk were friendly and very helpful. I had the “room for one” which I expected to be tiny, and it definitely was, but it served its purpose. I had everything I needed and the bathroom was very nice. The only con is the carpet needs to be replaced - so bring your slippers. Other than that, awesome stay!!

Overall, the hotel was great! Only issue I had was the bed was so hard, no give or cushion to it. Pillows are hotel pillows...not the best. This hotel is in Alstadt (Old Town) Munich and is very close (2-3 min walk) to Marienplatz train station and lot of the sights (Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, St. Peter). The staff were amazing and they will hold your luggage for as long as you need while exploring, even after you check out. If I come back to Munich, I'd definitely consider staying here again.

Charming hotel, every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The location cannot be beat, you are a 3 minute walk from Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, Hofbraeuhaus, and the UBahn, and there is a taxi stand 20 feet from the front of the hotel. Breakfast was delightful, delicious and abundant. Beds were very comfortable, rooms are small but not too tight, and we did not want for anything. If you must sleep with a window open, probably best not to be facing the street, as the 23-hour McDonald's next door attracts a noisy crowd at all hours. But they have plenty of rooms that do not face the street.

Stayed here for 2 nights and what stood out the most is the location. This is in a very busy and touristy area. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Warning—church bells ring morning until night. Parking is very limited, so make sure to reserve your parking spot with the hotel. The hotel is definitely dated and rooms are on the smaller side. But, you have all you need—except wash cloths. Bring your own. Staff was nice upon check-in, but the gentleman who checked us out was sarcastic and not the nicest. Also, I booked room with my AMEX card, but they wouldn’t accept it for payment when I was checking out. I won’t be staying here again.

It’s a comfortable hotel in a great location. Excellent breakfast. Hair dryer in room broken and staff person said they’d bring a replacement then never returned. Later I found him and he said he couldn’t find one, but never told us. Room doesn’t have shampoo or conditioner, just an all purpose shower gel.

The property is a bit outdated and my room specifically had a very musty smell. Members of the staff also entered my room on two separate occasions with only a knock, both of which I was unclothed in the bathroom, in the mere 2 nights I spent at the hotel.

Amazing! This hotel is a beautiful old hotel with modern conveniences!! Shower water pressure was on point! The breakfast is wonderful too!! The staff is friendly, rooms are a nice size and clean! Loved our stay!! Would definitely stay again when in Munich!

Absolutely perfect location right in Marienplatz with walking distance to all the sites. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Rooms are OK but small. Nothing special. Just a place to catch some rest. Carpets in rooms and hallways could use a deep cleaning or replacement. There were a lot of stains. This would drastically improve the overall rating of the hotel. I did not receive the morning wakeup call that I had asked for. Fortunately I was up and didn't miss my flight.

Best location possible. Right on Marienplatz. Makes it very easy to walk to key attractions and you have the subway station close by in case you want to go greater distances. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast is great! Would recommend and stay again whenever I’m back in Munich!

A disappointment overall. Great location, professional staff and a very good breakfast buffet but the room was small, carpet was dated and dirty and the bed was not comfortable (my wife hardly slept as she could feel the springs). Church chimes at 7 am are interesting but very loud and went on for some time. Not the hotel to pick if you want to sleep in but a decent choice if you want to be central and get up early.

The hotel is in the center of the old city, which was great except for the noise from the downstairs restaurant on a weekend night. Extremely loud even with soundproof windows. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

Charming hotel, every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The location cannot be beat, you are a 3 minute walk from Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, Hofbraeuhaus, and the UBahn, and there is a taxi stand 20 feet from the front of the hotel. Breakfast was delightful, delicious and abundant. Beds were very comfortable, rooms are small but not too tight, and we did not want for anything. If you must sleep with a window open, probably best not to be facing the street, as the 23-hour McDonald's next door attracts a noisy crowd at all hours. But they have plenty of rooms that do not face the street.

The place is at the center of the Old Town with everything within a walking distance. I think for the location it's hard to beat. The room is also clean and sound insulation from the busy streets below are excellent. It comes with free breakfast but we didn't get to try it as we chose to eat out for the duration of our stay.

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Schlicker! Hotel had everything we needed to have a nice vacation in Munchen. It's quiet and yet is in the middle of Old Town, next to Marinplatz. It's clean and well maintained. Breakfast is included and is food is very tasty. What's especially convenient is that breakfast is running until 11:30 on weekends and 10:30 on week days. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Thank you very much -- we'll definitely be back next time we're in Munchen! PS: tipping is very convenient and you can easily pay by scanning a QR code -- and tips are distributed across all staff.

Hotel Schlicker provides fabulous services and amenities. At breakfast, special coffees such as cappuccinos and espressos are available. The omelettes are light and fluffy. The rooms are good sized with comfortable beds and lots of towels. There is air conditioning in the rooms too. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. The location cannot be better as it is a 1-minute walk to the Marienplatz and shops, restaurants, museums and opera house within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone - single or family - staying in Munich.

The location of this hotel is key to making the most of your time in Munich. We were just there overnight this time, but on return trips would definately recommend for others as well as for ourselves to stay here again. The staff were all super friendly and the breakfast was fabulous - large selection of food and beautiful presentation!

The staff was amazingly helpful and cheerfully helped us resolve some problems with our travel plans. The hotel is also ideally situated in the heart of the Alstadt and next to a large outdoor market. We travel a lot, and this was one of the best places we have ever stayed.
